Gubbins Running Ahead

owners are fantastic. i’ll definitely go back. they didn’t have what I was looking for in one store so they gave me a steep discount at the other. no BS salespeople, cheaper than surrounding stores and even online.

This is a cool spot because when it comes to running shoes or running/​workout gear, they have just about everything. Actually, there are two sister stores (both called Gubbins Running Ahead) about a block apart in the town of Southampton — one carries exclusively Nike shoes and the other just about any other brand you can imagine.
I recently went in to buy a pair of those bizarre looking Vibram five finger sneakers. Not only did Gubbins have the deepest selection to choose from, but the salesperson was highly knowledgeable and even had experience wearing the sneakers. It made my purchase a lot easier, especially as I had the opportunity to ask multiple questions and get reasonable answers.
Much like the best caddies are those that also play golf, the Gubbins folks do a better job than most because the owner and its salespeople are all intense runners and athletes.
