Great little spot. Booths fit 4. 50’s diner kitsch with some automotive stuff thrown in. Very friendly owner and staff plus, the food is great!

Very nice little diner with very affordable prices. My wife and I had Eggs Benedict hers in the classic style with Canadian bacon and I was a little more adventurous having it with hash. The hollandaise was thick and creamy just the way I like it and the poached eggs were set just below firm so not runny at all. My wife liked hers with very much. Even better the bill with a tip came to $ 20. When in this part of the Cape this will be definite stop.

The other reviews say it well — Great food and friendly folks — a very good meal, time after time. Skip the ‘chain’ restaurants and ‘buy local’ — they’re glad to see you and you’ll be glad you came!

Open everyday, even Was open Christmas Day. Excellent had a hash & Swiss omelette. Loved it. Partner had eggs over easy with pumpernickel toast. Done perfectly. Saw grilled muffins come out after I was full… next time. Friendly, local, great food. Looks small but lots of seating. This is a must go & price is right, cash only tho.

We had breakfast today. You won’t go wrong here. And they seem to have a lot of local repeat customers. 1) Texas French toast and crispy bacon for me. 2) Scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, rye toast for my wife. The food was simple but delicious. The coffee’s good. They have fancier fair as well. The staff is really friendly and service is good. I’d say the atmosphere is old style diner(in terrific shape) and funky. And the prices are very reasonable.

Good food, service and priced reasonable. Friendly, crowd lined up early but worth the wait. Small area for seating but give it a try.

We were going somewhere else, but someone said Route 28 Diner was a great place, so we tried it, ANDCANNOWSAYIT’S ONOURFAVORITESLIST! The service was EXCELLENT, the food was great(although I’ve had better french toast) and the menu was just right, many normal breakfast items, plus great specials, kids fare and toppings(fresh fruit should always be on the menu, it ISHERE!!) We were really very happy with the pleasant, HAPPY, upbeat staff, it REALLYHELPS, one server was always smiling, complimenting & checking on EVERYONE, that’s a great way to win repeat customers. And great reviews! Keep up the great family-owned & operated business — it’s noticed and appreciated!

Good breakfast place. Waffles were the best, great flavor in two sizes. Pancakes were just fair. French Toast was okay, good egg flavor. Hash was not good at all, dry and tasted like dog food. Did not even finish it. Croissant sandwich with egg cheese and sausage, croissant was dry and stale. Décor in restsurant was like an old diner, kinda cool. Restroom was lined with old license plates, really cool. Waitress was not too happy, but good service. There are better breakfast places out there.

Loved it. We just wanted a quick bite and chose the closest spot. What a gem. I loved the décor and the fact that the staff was cleaning. You can tell the owner has pride in his/her diner. I had a BLT and it was perfection. My children loved their breakfast plates but the best part was the very friendly service. They made us out-of-towners feel welcome. We’ll be back.

After reading all the good reviews of this diner I am left quite disappointed with my experience. We arrived shortly after 730 which was good because they began a short wait not too long after. It looks small from the outside but there are plenty of tables and counter space and the décor is very cool. Coffee was bad, tasteless. I ordered waffles with chocolate chips. But got plain waffles which is disappointing but an honest mistake so that’s not really my complaint with this place. One waffle was undercooked and still mushy in the center and the other way was slightly burnt. I got a side of home fries for $ 1 and they were cold and hard but they were a dollar so should I be surprised? Bacon was good because I like it crispy and sausage was ok but not hot. Our server didn’t return after we got our meal to check on us and also did not give us our check, the hostess did. I would not return here and not recommend it.

I went here this morning with my wife and 2 girls and we had a great experience. I ordered speed bumps and they were delicious. My wife had an omelette w/tomatoes and she said it tasted so fresh! My one daughter had chocolate chip pancakes and she said they were the best she’s ever had. The diner is directed with nostalgic decorations, which were very cool to see.

The staff is so friendly and the food is always fresh and cooked to order. My son ordered a kids short stack of pancakes and instead of the regular two pancakes on a plate they made them into Mickey Mouse with whip cream and chocolate chips! He was so excited. We come here everytime we’re in town.

Excellent diner with great customer service. Food was very good. Few of us had breakfast and I had turkey club. My sandwich was very good. The breakfast meals were all good as well. We had couple veggie omelette’s, scramble eggs, pancakes and waffles. Everyone really liked their food. The host no everyone that worked there were ver pleasant. Open 6am to 2pm. Give it a try if you’re in town.

There is only one word to describe Route 28 Diner: EXCELLENT! My husband and I had breakfast at Route 28 Diner both mornings we were in South Yarmouth. The food is tasty, and the portions are filling. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner this morning; what a nice lady, pleasant and just a gem! They come around and ask if you need a coffee refill before you can even ask, wow, what service!

My son and I happened on Route 28 and couldn’t have been more pleased with our decision to stop for breakfast. I can see why there was a line, of course we got lucky and grabbed a spot at the counter and watched the list grow. Don’t worry though, nobody waited very long. The staff was great, very polite and attentive. The food came out quickly and tasted great. I think we ordered the Route 28 breakfast which had a little bit of everything and was priced perfectly. The best part, my son who eats like a horse, didn’t even finish his. If we make it back down to the Cape, we will certainly swing in for another great meal.

My husband and I were staying in a motel right near here and were looking for somewhere close to get breakfast. After the first awesome experience(fri morning around 10) we decided that we just had to come back(Saturday morning around 9) Family owned and run — the owners their kids, and staff are all awesome. It’s hard not to walk out happy when everyone is so nice and cheerful in the morning. The locals that seems to be here all seemed friendly with the staff and were courteous to us as well. The first morning I ordered a make-your-own omelet which had spinach, mushroom, and feta in it with pumpernickel bread and home fries. My husband got Belgian waffles with apple cinnamon topping. Both dishes were fantastic. We also ordered a side of yogurt parfait which came with deliciously fresh fruit. The second morning I got the eggs Benedict and my husband got a bacon egg and cheese on a bagel, and again we were very impressed. The icing on the cake was the price! While it is cash only, not a single menu item is above $ 10 and quality is not sacrificed to reach this price point. We can’t wait for our trip next year to come back.

Went here today for breakfast while on vacation. We were going to go to Keltic Kottage or Pancake Man, which are two of the more popular breakfast spots but there was a line out the door at both. The owner of the hotel I am staying at recommended this place so I thought what the hell. I am not really into huge breakfasts so I thought this may have been better. The place is small but it seemed as though the heavens opened up for us and we parked right in front and went in and there was one booth open for us. We have a 9 month old and they were very accommodating and rushed right over with a high chair. I orderd 2 poached eggs with rye toast and homefries. The hubby got one egg over hard with wheat toast and a short stack. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The toast and pancakea were good. Syrup was not sickeningly sweet and coffee was freshly brewed. I am pretty picky about homefries because I am not a potato person. They have to be phenominal for me to like them. They were just ok. But… for $ 15 it was much cheaper and less time consuming then going to the other two places. I’d go there again. This is no frills type dining They had a few specials but nothing sp3ctacular jumped out at me.
