Ricardo is a very good guy. We had him install central air conditioning in our house. The install took about a week from the time we accepted his quote, which also includes the time it took to approve the plans and get the permits. We did shop around, specifically with Degree HVAC, which was recommend by a very trust worthy source. Wolves actually came out cheaper in the price and included the work of an electrician. So far the AC unit has worked flawlessly. The only down side is that he wasn’t punctual.

During the latest coldstreak, I found myself sleeping in 45 degree room, as my heater(hydronic system) was not working. I called Wolves Heating and Air Conditioning and they were able to get to my place in short time. Cesar(co-owner) — arrived on time, was very knowledgable. Suffice to say, within 25 minutes, I had heat. Will definitely be calling back if I have any other issues. That said, I highly recommend Wolves for heating/AC issues.

The owner, Cesar came out on Tuesday to identify the problem with my furnace. He explained what he would do to repair it and what the cost would be. Cesar came back the next day(Wednesday) and replaced some parts. He also explained the various parts of the furnace, how they work and what to do if there is a problem in the future. He also made suggestions on how to maintain it myself. I highly recommend this company as Cesar is very professional and honest. –Judi S.

Our heater stopped working and we called the number on the unit, which was Wolves HVAC Mechanical. Carlos came out and was very pleasant. He diagnosed our issue as a broken condensate pump and quoted $ 600 for replacement. He also said we needed a filter for our electronic air cleaner, which was true. He neglected to mention that the electronic air filter was broken and needed to be replaced. He charged us $ 135 for the filter, uninstalled. According to Amazon, the list price is $ 69.95, and can be ordered via Prime shipping for $ 35. The pump lists for $ 91.00 and can be ordered via Amazon Prime for $ 41.56. I have no problem paying a technician $ 150/hour to diagnose a problem and perform a repair. However, I do have a problem with being gouged for parts and being taken advantage of. This company has lost my family’s business, and hopefully this review will save others from being ripped off.

They’ve done a good job for us, and have been fair. Here’s our story: They fixed the motor on our furnace about a year ago. Furnace worked fine all winter. This year, however, when we turned our furnace on during the first cold evening, our furnace didn’t start. Turns out that the root cause was that a screw was no longer in place, for some strange reason.(Perhaps the screw vibrated out.) Ricardo, the owner, quickly diagnosed the problem, replaced the screw, and best of all, didn’t charge us since it was his guy who last worked on the furnace. That’s really great service — taking responsibility, and giving the customer the benefit of the doubt and not charging them.

The jury is still out, but so far Ricardo is OK. My furnace went out and Ricardo was prompt the next morning. He discouraged me from coming that night — which I was prone to do as it was a colder night — he saved me money. He was patient with me, which is not easy as I ask alot of questions. I did think he was a bit over-priced, but he doesn’t charge by the hour. He charges for the markup on the parts so yes the parts are expensive, but they include the labor. He did talk to me about a new furnace and I said nope, see what you can do. He did a decent job of diagnosing though he didn’t get it right the first time. Well, the last guy that was out a few years earlier was much worse and put in the wrong parts which did cause the circuit board to go. But most likely, had he done the right thing to begin with — the guy a few years ago — I wouldn’t have needed Ricardo a few years later. Ricardo was at my house for a long time on two different occasions and overall, I’d say he didn’t make that much due to the labor. He opened up my dampers for free — the other guy had screwed that up too — and now I have heat everywhere in the house WHOOHOO. That to me is worth alot. He also installed a digital thermostat but I don’t like it because it is tacky — my old one was definitely on the way out. I was on a biz call when he was doing it so I had to quickly write him a check at the end and didn’t look. I called at the end of his day and he has agreed to come out another morning to discuss or agree to put something in better looking. But, I think he has been nice, courteous and patient. And well, the new furnace thing is something to watch out for, but outside of the that so far the experience is 3stars. I will possibly give him 4 stars if the furnace works for over a year(his warranty is a year) and he comes up with a better thermostat soltuion and comes on time again.

Very poor experience. Very Expensive. Not Trustworthy. Ricardo came out and«diagnosed» my furnace problem. Said it was the gas valve and gave me a quote for $ 740, $ 480 of which was for the replacement part. I looked up the part online and found out it cost only $ 98! I called him back and got him down to $ 600 for the job but he refused to give me his cost for the part. Also turns out that it wasn’t the gas valve at all — but rather the ignition that was broken. They’re swindlers so I ditched him and went with a very responsive company called DEGREEHVAC — 650−533−9489. Very responsive, reasonable and above board.
