Fairly good thai food. I bring my parents here because the spice level is pretty mild if you ask. They are very nice and service has always been great.

The service was too slow and the food wasn’t worth the money at all ! The best food I had tonight was the glass of water!

I really like everything I’ve tried here, especially the green curry. I also recommend the Thai egg rolls.

Great local joint with good food, full bar, and friendly service. Get the salmon massamun curry and Angel’s wings. Unique and delicious!

Very beautiful restaurant with Thai music and very soothing décor. We ordered a coconut based chicken lemongrass soup, a fried catfish dish, and my friend’s favorite pineapple fried rice. The food was simple, albeit delicious. It was our first time there and the prices are very reasonable for a restaurant that looks so nice. Service was very quick on the Sunday evening we went.

Came here for lunch this week. Someone in our group made reservation for group of six, I was wondering why they needed it here but this place was pretty full during lunch time I visited. Lunch special is a great value. $ 9 includes soup and salad. Nothing really fancy but nice to have small salad and soup before the meal. I ordered shrimp with asparagus, nicely flavored. I don’t know if they were authentic Thai or not but I was pleased with portion size and flavor. Service was a bit slow, not sure if all the staff spoke English or not. Now I come to think of it, never had that of efficient service at any of restaurants on the Grand Avenue here. Desert was really good. We ordered mango with sticky rice and fried banana with ice cream. Portion is big, they are good to share with others. Mango with sticky rice is seasonal, I wasn’t sure if they still serve at this late in the year but was pleased and mango was very yummy. Fried banana with ice cream — must have! Why deep fried food taste so good? It’s probably bad for you but once in a while, I like to indulge myself with deep fried food.

Recently came here for the first time last week and was so pleased with the food(great quality) and the portions! For $ 9 lunch special you get soup, rice, and option of 2 lunch entrees. I got the bbqed beef and pad thai. I didn’t finish it all because it was so much food for lunch but did enjoy the rest when I got home later that day. The bbqed beef was cut in stripes and served with sweet and sour sauce which I thought was a little funny but probably for the people who wanted a little extra flavor. I was impressed with their pad thai, they didn’t skimp on the shrimp :)

My wife and I have been coming to Thai Satay almost once a week for the last two months, we are absolutely in love with this restaurant! The food is amazing and usually the customer service is as well. Unfortunately tonight we left extremely disappointed. The posted times for the restaurant are 11am-10pm, we got to the restaurant at 9:30pm and the man at the door said it would be to-go ONLY. There were still people eating at the restaurant. I thought that being a regular customer they would reconsider. As much as we love the food we definitely visit the restaurant for the experience and for the Mai Tai’s. We obviously can not take that to-go. We decided not to get food at all. If you aren’t staying open until 10pm ASPOSTED and you have the OPENSIGNON but don’t want to take customers at 9:30pm then change your posted store times and turn the damn sign off. Thanks

The food was pretty good and the service was amazing! I came here after a night of drinking with a few friends and we wanted noodle soup, but the server said they didn’t have it on the menu because it wasn’t that great. He gave us the noodles complimentary so we could test it, and it was delicious! We suggested that they put it on the menu. I ordered the drunken noodles(pad kee mow) along with a Thai tea. The drunken noodles was okay, a little bland in my opinion and not very spicy, but the Thai tea tasted great. My friends got Pad Thai(yummy), duck curry(delicious), and I believe fried tilapia(that was okay). Considering how much we ordered, the food came pretty fast. The server was very attentive and came back a few times to strike up a conversation with us. I will definitely be back.

Not the best Thai place I’ve had and the back tables were not as clean, but the lunch specials are decent. $ 8.95 for 2 items that come with salad and rice. Panang chicken curry was tasty. Colleague said the pumpkin curry wasn’t ripe. Another colleague said there was more garnish than food. Lol. The place is located in the heart of SSF downtown and is close to work. The décor is nothing out of the ordinary for a Thai restaurant. This wouldn’t be my go-to thai place for sure.

Ok food. Portions were generous. However, everything was on the sweet side, toward the end, i did not savor the food as i would have liked. Maybe people prefer sweeter dishes in this area?

Just another overpriced restaurant in downtown SSF. Why anyone would come here other than for their lunch specials, I’ll never know. Even their lunch specials aren’t that great. But their lunch specials are about $ 5 cheaper than dinner. Crappy vegetable soup like the ones I got in summer camp. Watery curry with very little meat in it, and a whole lot of rice. Lunch can run you about $ 13 per person before tax and tip for small portions that a McDonald’s combo would compare. Dinner can run you $ 35 per person before tax and tip. The pad thai tastes like a Tv Dinner. Say what? I know. This is like the Panda Express of Thai Food, without the customer service number to complain to if your food sucks.

I don’t know why this place only has 3 stars! It was great. The food was really good, service was great, and the prices were very reasonable! The atmosphere was nice and warm and bright, very inviting. My party ordered basil beef, green curry duck, green curry prawns, Rama, and Penang curry chicken. Everything was fresh and tasty. The portion sizes were large. The only thing to watch out for is the rice costs extra, which they don’t tell you, I find that annoying to have an extra charge for something like that. We were asked what kind of rice we wanted, and assumed it came with our meals, as it typically would at a thai restaurant. It ended up being $ 2 per bowl extra. Would definitely recommend!

VERYSLOWSERVICE! Don’t come here if you only have an hour. It won’t be a relaxing experience. This place draws a healthy lunch crowd. I’m happy for them because it’s tough running a business. Unfortunately, it was prob the worse pad see ew and pad Thai I’ve ever had in my life. Other dishes are prob fantastic but as I newcomer to this restaurant, I ordered the basics and it failed. Sorry!

I love this place! I have been coming in here for years! I love Thai food and I have always been satisfied with their great food and portions. My favorite here is the Tom kha prawn soup and their pad Thai and pad seaew. These portions are great to share and you will be very pleased! The service here is great. There’s hard ever a wait and the staff Is super friendly! This place is great for groups. Has a small bar. I love coming to this place and will continue to do so! My drive from San Francisco to south San Francisco is very well worth it!!!

Bee in our soup and hair in our noodles. This deserves no stars but that’s not an option. This was an order for delivery. I called them after we found a bee in our tom yum goong and the lady that answered the phone said she would take out the soup from our bill since we paid with a cc. Which is fine, whatever, it happens. Then 5 minutes later we found hair in our pad see yew and called again and the same lady said she can’t see it so she doesn’t know and that they already took the soup off the bill and thats all that they could do. I told her that i don’t call restaurants and make up lies to get a discount and she said she would only take half off the pad see yew. I said«ok, fine we won’t order from you guys ever again». She said«thank you, bye.»

Craved Thai, but being short on time… I just couldn’t wait for a table at Siam Spoon, so I opted to come to Thai Satay. I was enticed by their lunch special — $ 8.95 for a salad, rice, and two mini portions from a selected list of entrees? Sounds good to me. I went with the satay shrimp and basil eggplant. The satay shrimp had kind of a sad delivery…3 skewers with only one medium(half the size of a tiger) shrimp per skewer. But the flavor was good… the shrimp was coated with a curry powder and accompanied with a peanut sauce and cucumber salad. The basil eggplant had excellent flavor… I used up all the sauce to accompany my rice — but the dish might as well be renamed sauteed onions and bell peppers. I had maybe 6 chunks of eggplant total under all that stuff. Service was kind of off-kilter. When we walked in, a hostess pointed us to a table in the back… then abruptly changed her mind and walked us back in the opposite direction clear to the other side of the restaurant. Then, within 5 minutes of sitting down, we were brought over the check belonging to a different party…
