This cafeteria is my go-to since I don’t want to walk up a bunch of stairs. The view here is great because I can eat and stare out into the bay. Breakfast opens at 7:30 a. m but I wish it was a bit earlier since I get here around 6:45 a.m. Normally I can get a quick breakfast there and I just love that I can get a big pancake with breakfast potatoes and an egg for under 4 bucks. The wait isn’t bad but I’ve had a few times where there were a lot of people and just one guy busting his bum(with the other people peeking out the back to see how he was doing… could’ve helped). For lunches, my go-to is the soups with a salad(by weight). A small cup of soup is 1.70 but that’s more that enough for me if I get a salad too. Everything there taste really fresh and things are rotated out constantly. A favorite of the salads would be the caprese salad and always the fried sweet and sour tofu(could use less carrots… but that’s just me since I don’t like carrots haha). I would say that when they have pasta, there’s a lot of oil on it. Final Thoughts: It’s a good cafeteria and the prices are the best(yay subsidized meals!). Everything is quick and I can always count on grabbing a quick to-go lunch in under 15 minutes or sit there forever to enjoy my food.

Breakfast is amazing at building 4, especially if you order from the grill. Good sized pancakes and really tasty sausages. Marion also makes a mean burrito, filled with anything you desire! I’d rate this cafeteria 4 stars for their breakfast but unfortunately their lunch offerings bring the overall score to 3 stars. For lunch, unless you only have time to go here, you’d be better off going to another cafeteria such as 25, 42, or 33. The lunch offerings are meager compared to other cafeterias and often aren’t prepared as fresh(often) as other cafeterias. The grill or deli may be your best best. The salad bar is also an option, but oftentimes I’ve seen wilty greens or a lower selection of toppings. On the plus side, it is always easy to find seating at this cafeteria and the view of the bay from the outdoor seating is pretty awesome.

It’s always a treat coming here for breakfast or lunch. The daily specials are always intriguing. Mary is my personal favorite when it comes to ordering my food.

Location: Since I just work across the street in B5, this place is the closest on-site cafeteria for me to grab a meal. It also doesn’t hurt that the view from the balcony is gorgeous! Food: For a smaller cafeteria, they have a lot of options. Sweet ‘n sour tofu everyday and clam chowder on Fridays! I’m a huge fan of their salad bar/health bar area, where they rotate their grilled veggies and have a variety of tasty pre-made salads. At lunch time there’s usually two soups and one chili/stew to choose from. There’s also about 5 – 6 specials to choose from. At breakfast time, they have fresh cut fruit, oatmeal(steel cut and one with fruit mixed in!), bagels, toast, and other delicious baked breakfast breads! At the grill area, you can create your own omelet, breakfast sandwich, breakfast burrito, or get pancakes and waffles! They also have a daily breakfast special. Prices: Since all the food is subsidized, it’s a lot cheaper than going off campus! You used to be able to get a salad with the dressing on the side and not weigh the dressing, but now they have started making us weigh the dressing also(sign of the times?) Staff/Service: The employees are usually pretty nice and friendly — definitely no complaints!
