Second visit recommended by our spin coach who just loves this place. Atmosphere is fabulous with a lounge and full bar area. Casual but yet can also come in formal! The service is impeccable and the food is quite impressive both in presentation and taste! Great quality and huge portions. Their small plate portions are big enough to eat as an entrée or to share with others as well. First visit we ordered to go and we ordered the lamb burger which is highly recommended so juicy and delicious. We also ordered the squid ink pasta which was just as delicious and a flatbread equally delicious and all held up to eat at home. Tonight we ordered three small plates and had enough to take home as well. Ate at the lounge very comfortable seating. We ordered the avocado carrot salad, lamb kebabs and the salmon strawberry salad! All three two thumbs up and highly recommend! Enough to share with others. If with a group highly recommend order small plates to try and share with everyone! So delicious and again the service is stellar! LOVE this place — hidden gem!

I feel like I found a gem in an often overlooked area. I did not expect to walk into such a nice restaurant in a residential neighborhood. I felt that I was transported to a fancy hotel in downtown SF. Food did take a long time to come out after we ordered but they did apologize for the wait. We had the avocado and carrots salad which was amazing. Who knew this would make such a great pairing. The smoked sturgeon was also good but was my least favorite out of the 3 dishes I tried. The flavor didn’t pack the punch that the other dishes had. Roasted chicken was my absolute favorite. The skin was crispy and the meat was juicy and super flavorful. It also came with roasted veggies which was very good as well. Service was good, they were great about getting us refills on water and soda. I didn’t have a non-alcoholic cocktail but I do like that they do have a few listed on their cocktail menu. Giving people like me who don’t drink options and not feel left out. Parking was easy since they have their own lot and they are on Opentable which makes it super easy to get a reservation. I really enjoyed our meal here and will be back very soon!

This was our first time here and we really enjoyed the service that we received. Our server was Jenna. She was informative and friendly welcoming. We had the lamb shank which we shared and it was delicious fell right off of the bone. We also had the prosciutto flatbread which is new on their menu and it too was also delicious. We definitely will return.

Just over it … We told them we were in a rush due to a flight nearby that we have to catch … In 30 minutes we’ve only received our non alcoholic beverages… Not an appetizer or anything. We then pay for our meal and ask for it to go instead… still nothing … Wish we didn’t pay so we can just walk out and leave it all here. We’re about to miss our flight and we’re still hungry … Great!

Been there now 4 times over several months. The food has been consistently very good. Even though the avocado and roasted carrots salad never matched the super delicious first time when I tried it the other times. Always good though. I love the falafel, olives, tabbouleh, broccolini, bruxelles sprouts and flatbreads. Don’t forget to try the(non-alcoholic) Mango Mojito. Service has been very courteous and always attended us well. Try adding the falafel on the salad leaves with tabbouleh. Also all of my co-workers and guests were very happy and we usually ended up ordering and eating mire than planned. Yet, always worthwhile.

This was so delicious. I went to lunch with a friend. We share hummus and pita, falafel bites, and the carrot cucumber salad. It was all really delicious.

This is an unexpected gem. I went for a work meeting/lunch, and I literally felt from the outside like I should be prepared for gunshots but upon entering I realized that Amoura is what I die for… the unexpected and overdelivery on expectations. The hummus and falafel were exceptional, and my grapefruit salad was delightful. What a gem!

The dinner food here was excellent, nice wait staff, good ambiance. One star down, because the food was very flow to come out. The food was very flavorful. It was also presented artfully, in a way that made it seem like they really cared about the food and took pride in the effort. We both especially noticed the use of lots of fresh herbs in ways that we do not necessarily use at home — it was great to taste new flavors. We ordered the bacon-wrapped goat cheese stuffed dates to start. They were delicious and had a salad of fresh parsley and dill on top. For my entrée, I had the lamb shank, which was really good — by far my favorite of all the dishes we ordered. This also had parsley on top, which gave a contrast to the deeper flavors of the super-tender lamb meet(the lamb flavor reminded me of a rich stew). My husband ordered the squid pasta, which was also tasty — very strong garlic(which we like). For dessert, we had the bougatsa, which I would describe as resembling cannoli made with filo dough. The ambiance was relaxing. There was also a nice bar with dark wood and a TV. The room is big enough that the TV was not distracting for those not interested, and I don’t recall hearing it, so the sound may have been off or way down. I thought it was a nice atmosphere for a date, but I could also see it being fine for a business meeting or other meal. Our wait staff seemed knowledgeable about the food when we had questions, refilled our water regularly, etc. The one thing was that the food was very slow to come out. We actually intentionally chose this place so that we could have a nice relaxing meal, so we were not in a rush, but it was even slower than we anticipated. For example, our bacon-wrapped dates appetizer probably took 20 minutes to come out of the kitchen after we ordered it. And once we finished it, we were waiting for our main courses for another 20 minutes or more. We were getting very hungry. We appreciate that good food takes time to cook, but the restaurant was only half full, and it seemed especially long for a simple appetizer. They did have a larger table(maybe 10 people) that was there, so we assumed that was slowing things down, but even given that, it felt like a long wait. I would not suggest this place if you are in a hurry to get to a movie or something afterwards. The long wait aside, I would definitely come here again, as there were many things on the menu that sounded good.

Amoura is a nice addition to the neighborhood. I love the menu and the décor is on point. I’ve been in several times and have yet to be disappointed. The Avocado & Roasted Carrot Salad(cucumber, feta, dill) is basically heaven! If you’re in the area you must check it out!

Last night, it was my first visited to the Amoura Restaurant. It is a hidden gem in South San Francisco; The interior of the restaurant was a surprise. It is elegant and simple. The host was friendly and cordial. He has offer us Champagne as welcoming into his restaurant. They have a great selection of red wine. We choice a ½ bottler of a Musar Jeune Rouge, Cinsault Blend. My friend and I had decided to order appetizer, small plates and site dishes. We begin with the marinated olive were excellent, salty and juice; The falafel & tahini sauce is to die for, crispy on the out site and soft on the inside and warm; grilled lamb kebabs, the meat was cooked perfectly juice and tender. The Broccolini lemon, aleppo pepper, warm, tender and crispy. the lemon give an excellent flavor. Quinoa with arugula, peppery with nuts. So far, this is one of the best Mediterranean restaurant that I had try it; Their kitchen is open to the public viewing, and you can see that they made everything from scratch with care and love for their food. Thank you for making last night a special evening with a couple of satisfy customers. I recommend Amoura Restaurant, and I will be returning soon. Maritza

The food is delicious, the atmosphere is fantastic and the drinks are awesome. We ordered the ham flatbread and the lamb and beef burger which were both excellent. The chocolate cake dessert was a perfect balance of sweet, salty, and chocolate. The Ananas punch is by far the most interesting and delicious drink I’ve ever had. I don’t know what to do now, I wish I could take this restaurant back home to LA. Thank you for the experience!

Unexpected delight. The city unknown. The neighborhood sketchy. Amoura amazing. I’m glad my mother picked this place. Smoke in the Wind signature cocktail never seen anything like it. Hummus and pita so fresh and authentic. Felafel are handmade. ++(Both in tapas sampler)++ Mother’s day was a very special day. Thank you Amoura for an unexpected delight.

A hidden gem! The food and ambiance of a San Francisco restaurant right outside of The city. A+ from the beginning to the end. Wether it is the modern and cultural decoration, the comfortable ambiance, the smooth wine selection, the personalized service or the chef’s delicious inspiration, this place needs more than 5 stars. My husband and I had a great experience and strongly recommend this place.

Although I have only been here for dinner service twice, my experience was great, but the food was just okay. For being a Michelin 2016 rated restaurant, I expected a lot more, but was really amazed at the ambiance and service! Maybe, I just have to try their lunch as well. For starters, my group ordered 2 flatbreads: the Battarga & Roasted Egg Plant I would at all cost avoid the roasted egg plant flatbread, but the battarga is really delicious and the broccolini has a nice char to it. If you are here after 8, they usually don’t have the black cod flatbread left so come early if you want to try that(I probably will have an updated review once I try this!). On top of this, we also ordered Hummus and a side of Fried Potatoes. The hummus is just so flavorful and the harissa aoli with the potatoes just compliments the potatoes well — I wish I could bottle this up! In the menu, there are small and big plate options. The small plates are honestly a half of what an actual entrée portion should be so if you are super hungry I would go with the big plate option. The big plate option might offer a little too much, but totally worth it. For small plates, my friends said the pork belly was really tasty. In terms of big plates, the Grilled Branzino was just okay and needs a more pungent sauce. Overall, the staff is really nice and i heard they sometimes have live music. I want to come to this place more to try more things out in their menu, but for now this place was just OKAY especially for the price.

One thing about dining in San Francisco is you always have to make back-up plans. And… back-up plans to those back-up plans(if you want to dine at one of the hot spots). Yah, so I usually have plan b and plan c lined up. Then, you have to account for flakes. I read in an article that San Franciscans are notoriously flaky?! Then, I thought about it and it totally resonated with me. I know people who can’t even commit to getting phuckin’ boba. Those«friends» whose life revolves around«maybes» — drop them. You should never be anyone’s plan b. My friend and I were trying to go to a brand new restaurant in SF except they weren’t open to the public so we went with plan b: Amoura. I had previously made reservations which were not needed at all. We were there during peak hours on a Saturday night and there were 4 tables filled at most. If you’re looking for a super last minute place for dinner(even a large group dinner) that has plenty of free parking, Amoura is a good option. And, you don’t have to worry if someone in your party flakes because there’s no fee for«no shows». The overall 4.5 star rating is highly inflated IMO so temper your expectations(same owners as Amoura in SFO and Westfield’s mall). I would not bring a food snob here if you want to impress them. Amoura’s Mediterranean menu consists of apps(hummus, falafel kefta), flatbreads, small plates(salads, pork belly, and kebabs), and large plates(whole branzino, lamb burger, lamb shank). Everything is reasonably priced at $ 5-$ 26. There’s a full bar and cocktails are only $ 9. Amoura doesn’t have fancy«mixologists» so keep it simple with shots and booze over rocks because our cocktails were meh: . My friend and I shared the following: (+) Smoked Black Cod Flatbread w/charred green onion, crème fraîche, dill($ 13): The highlight of dinner, this is a MUSTORDER! The crust was crunchy with a subtle garlickyness and the black cod was flaky and smoky. The crème fraiche and dill added a herbaceous creaminess. Really well-balanced and delicious. As for the rest of the food, it felt like it came from a totally different restaurant. (+/-) Lamb Neck Flatbread w/roasted fennel, shallots, sumac, aleppo chili($ 14): None of the entrees appealed to us so we ordered a second flatbread. If you’re deciding between flatbreads, skip this one. It wasn’t bad but the lamb neck was really dry and they were really heavy handed with the sumac and aleppo chili. (-) Roasted Beets, brussels sprouts, halloumi cheese($ 10): I love beets but these didn’t taste roasted and the brussel sprouts were still raw and waxy. (-) Lamb & Beef Kefta w/yogurt sauce, pine nuts, olive oil($ 8): Dry, crumbly, and devoid of spices. (-) Chicken Wings w/pomegranate, sumac, sesame seeds($ 8): Terrible. The sauce had a gross burnt taste so my friend alerted our waitress and they removed it from the bill. (-) Pork Belly w/roasted eggplant, pickled sultanas, toasted walnuts($ 12): Inconsistently cooked, my friend had a tender piece but my piece was stringy and dry. The accompanying eggplant was unappetizingly mushy and the pickled sultanas were overly acidic. (+/-) Apple Rum Crisp w/rye, oat crumble, vanilla ice cream($ 8): Needed something to wash the burnt taste from my mouth, we choose the apple rum crisp which was pretty standard. No rum taste but I enjoyed the crumble with the ice cream. The apples were not warmed through though so it was still cold in the center. Service was polite and cordial but food service is pretty slow even when they’re not busy. Amoura sits on a large lot and is spacious and contemporary. There’s even a small lounge and a wine room. It’s really a nice restaurant and almost seems out of place for SSF. There’s a private lot with plenty of parking. Amoura has lots of potential especially with such a large contemporary space. That Smoked Black Cod Flatbread is everything. Now, if everything else on the menu can get on that level, this could be a 4.5 star restaurant in SSF!

I really enjoyed this place. I’ve only discovered Mediterranean restaurants in the past couple of years, but it is quickly becoming one of my favorite kinds of foods. I should preface, if you like this kind of food, you will like this place; however, I don’t think this is a good restaurant to try if you aren’t familiar with it. The restaurant is easy to find with a good sized parking lot on the side of it(with spots big enough for my huge truck!) The staff was friendly and attentive, and our food was prepared correctly and came out in a timely manner. My wife and I got a couple of small plates, an appetizer, and a flat bread to share. Yes, we took a bit of it home. There is a lot of possible combinations here, so that’s what I would recommend you do if you aren’t sure about things. Free: Fried Chickpeas — OK, but we don’t really care for these. App: Pita & Hummus — Pretty good, probably our second or third favorite hummus. Flatbread: Eggplant — Bread was perfect, but the eggplant was a bit mushy. Don’t get this if you don’t like goat cheese! Plate: Lamb Kabob(Well Done, because I don’t eat raw blood) — great flavor, cooked perfectly, served with a nice squash and cucumber mix. Plate: Pork Belly — Definitely our favorite with a great flavor. Served with green raisins and eggplant which was a bit mushy. In conclusion, this was a great place if you know that you like this style of food, but I don’t recommend it as your initial introduction.

Food = ok Ambience = good Service = good We ordered the sea bass, chicken, fried potatoes and hummus with pita bread. The sea bass was ok. It was supposed to be deboned, but it still had some in it. The dish came with olives, garlic and fennel. Nothing amazing, but edible. I didn’t have the chicken, but my husband was not a fan. He didn’t like the seasoning on the chicken. I did try the steam collard greens and it was pretty flavor less. You can’t go wrong with the fried potatoes. It was served with an aioli sauce that gave it a kick. The hummus with pita bread was the best! The hummus was creamy with just the right amount of lemon juice and olive oil. The pita bread was fresh and warm. Delicious! Overall we would give this place 3 stars as the food was only ok, but ambience and service was good.

LOVELOVELOVE this place. Lunch with my coworkers and the place was just perfect-spacious seating and noise level was great that we actually could hear our conversations. There’s a parking lot available and with additional street parking as well. Came on a Monday at exactly noon and place wasn’t packed. This made me nervous because where’s all the people?! We ordered the pita and hummus appetizer as starters. The pita bread was warm and delicious. The hummus though, was one of the best I’ve had. It tasted like fresh chickpeas that they prepared the morning of. For my entrée, I ordered the lamb kabob(medium rare) with butternut squash, cucumbers and bulgur. I didn’t know what bulgur was but I’m not a picky eater, so I went ahead with it. So what bulgur is: «a cereal food made from the groats of several different what species.» For those watching out for carbs, it is a great alternative. Compared to white rice, bulgur has more fiber and protein, a lower glycemic index, and higher levels vitamins/minerals. My dish was the perfect portion as it is just enough for a person. The entrée came with 3 pieces of lamb on each of the two sticks. A very good amount of squash and cucumber. My lamb was cooked as I requested. The vegetables had a unique type of vinegar sauce while the lamb had a sweet onion taste. When ate together, it was like none other. Throughout lunch, our waiter was very attentive. I drank a lot of water and my cup never reached below half point. The timing between our appetizer and entrée was on point. The atmosphere was great and the décor was well designed. This place takes you away from your work misery and shifts you into a vacation mode like. Until next time Amoura, my sweet amour.

Beautiful space. Hibiscus martinis! Lamb kabobs! Falafel! Beets and Walnuts! All were fantastic. There is a full bar inside this large, richly appointed room with a beautiful chandelier descending from a skylight. I also noticed a separate area that I imagine will serve as a walk– in deli. I wish the owners the best of luck!
