It you happen to enjoy creeping around old graveyards, whether to visit a deceased friend or relative or if you just happen to ejoy looking at all the old or elaborate monuments, it would be difficult to find a more impressive cemetery.
Sure there are plenty of very old and worn graves dating back centuries but there are also a large amount of huge, impressive and appropriately morbid structures that give the cemetery a very lugubrious and spooky feel.
Many unique ones that feature all kinds of different biblical figures and sayings. Some delicate and sensitive and others just plan massive and looming.
The cemetery is located in a peaceful and lovely section of South Portland and even has a small river flowing through it. A lovely place to walk around and quietly spend some time with the deer departed.
