I am getting married in July and am doing many things for my wedding on my own. AC Moore has been my go to for many items! The managers and staff have been so helpful and accommodating as well, and I have left there many times happy and excited for my items to come in! They have a wide variety of things to choose from at a great price!

I am very disappointed in AC Moore’s tactic to get people in to their stores. I received coupons to use on Nov. 16 after going in to AC Moore and buying things on two different days. I needed some additional crafts so I waited until Sunday the 16th to use my 55% off coupons. I get to the store and all Holiday items are on sale. Well what do you think people are going into the store to buy in Nov. HOLIDAY items. What good is a 55% off coupon if you can only use it on regular priced items. The sales were not that good. I wasted Time and Gas to go to AC Moore with my coupons… when I could have gone to Michael’s. And that is exactly what I did, I gave my 55% off coupons to a young couples buying some non-holiday regular priced items and then went down the road to Michael’s. AC Moore needs to step it up if they want their regular customers coming back. You have very smart creative customer and we ARE smart enough to know that a coupon for 55% off should be for any item if we were in your store buying in the first place to get the coupon on the back of the receipt. MICHAEL’s is much more organized and the staff by far is much more friendly and helpful. When you go into AC Moore’s you better know what you want and be able to find it for yourself. Their staff acts like you are a bother when you ask a question. At Michael’s when you ask about a product they walk you to the item and even give good helpful suggestions on how to use and item or even suggest using something that might work a little better for your project. AC Moore needs to step up their game if they want to stay in the game in South Portland!

I’ve never come here before because I have a preferred arts and crafts store(this is based entirely on geography — why travel the extra three-quarters of a mile down the street to AC Moore when Michael’s comes first?), but I was directed here because said preferred store didn’t have what I needed(large post earrings, if you’re wondering — I’m gonna glue stuff to ‘em and make my own unique jewelry. No, I’ve never done this before, but how hard can it be?). And wouldn’t y’know… AC Moore did! They also had pliable wire mesh which I didn’t know I needed, but after remembering I had seen a DIY on Pinterest about picture frame earring holders, I ended up buying some. Now, maybe I’m not craft-brained enough, but I can’t find a darn thing when I’m in these kind of stores. It seems a little of everything is scattered all over the place. It also doesn’t help that these places are total sensory overload — there’s so much to look at it(BEADS! SPARKLINGTHINGS! FAKEFLOWERS! YARN! MOARBEADZ!), that it can be very easy to not see something that’s staring you right in the face. I always have to remember to be patient and re-look, re-look, re-look before I beg for help from a nearby employee… Unfortunately, the employees didn’t seem super excited to answer my questions — one purposefully wouldn’t make eye contact with me, a whole group of them couldn’t be found in the area in which I was told they’d be in, and one(the youngest of all of them) was ABSOLUTELYDELIGHTFUL. Wish I had gotten her name. She even shut her cash register down to help me find the wire mesh. And when I couldn’t figure out how big it was — she helped me measure it. When I told her I was grateful for her help, she shrugged it off with a kind smile, «That’s what we’re SUPPOSED to do.» You, young lady, totally get customer service. It’s a lost art, so kudos to you for perfecting it so early. Now, wish me luck, I’m going to attempt to be crafty!
