New to the area and found Jeff through Unilocal.Gave me a rough estimate over the phone in under a minute for installing a garbage disposal. Final bill was in line with the estimate, plus parts he needed for plumbing, but no complaint there. Jeff was very punctual, moved quickly and efficiently and gave me good guidance on what would work in the space I had. He also was very generous with advice about other projects I could consider and special features of my home. I will be using him again and would certainly recommend for anyone in the Plainfield or broader areas.

Jeff of Jeff’s Handyman Service personally returned our call right away and was available the next day. He showed up on time and expertly repaired a section of our deck, which had sagged over the years. The job was done quickly and cleanly in much less time than originally expected. Jeff seems to have the right tools to handle any job, and he figured out a simple way to level the deck. He’s a perfectionist as well — touching up spots with matching deck paint. The deck is now much safer and looks great — wish we had done this long ago! It’s great to deal one-​on-​one with a business owner who does the work with efficiency and pride.

Jeff has done a great job helping us on numerous projects! From restoring a gorgeous wood shed (that we almost got rid of!) to re-​venting our bathroom exhaust fans. As new homeowners with two very small children it feels great to know we have an honest and dependable handyman who is helping us turn our house into the home that we want it to be.

The things I look for in a contractor or handyman — available, dependable, knowledgable, and accountable. Jeff’s Handyman Service ranks highly in all of the above, plus he has a lot of integrity, dedication and takes pride in his work to boot.
I’m not handy at all, so I’ve had to rely on Jeff on multiple occasions ranging from plumbing (e.g., replacing faucets, fixing leaks, replacing worn out pipes, etc.) to minor electrical to ripping out my entire basement after it flooded after Hurricane Irene.
Whenever I need him, Jeff is always there. He’s even come on a Sunday afternoon. He’s quick to assess the problem and is competent enough to fix it. He does work alone, most of the time, but for large jobs like my basement, he brought in some great sheet-​rockers to handle the load. And if he can’t handle a job, he will recommend a reputable associate who has similar levels of skill, knowledge and customer service. He wants all of his customers to be happy, so he’s not going to recommend anyone sketchy with whom he hasn’t worked in the past, because he gets a tremendous amount of business from positive word of mouth.
He does quality work that lasts, and he stands behind the work he does. And he’s not afraid to get his hands dirty. The last job he did — replacing some worn out copper drainpipes — the man spent hours cutting out copper and attaching new PVC. He was so covered in black sludge from head to toe that he had to throw out the clothes he was wearing.
He’s a straight shooter, too. He’s not going to tell you you need X if you only need Y. That’s so refreshing, in this business. Honesty goes a long way in my book.
Can’t say enough good things about him. When I have to call Jeff, I know that the job is going to be done right, that he will back it up, that he’s not going to over-​charge or sell me the Brooklyn Bridge, and when he leaves I won’t have any regrets. I wholeheartedly recommend him.

Be prepared because he works alone, without help and he will break things around your house that were not part of the job, and he will tell you but you only doing this job if you don’t want me to break things around you will have to do a complete renovation, that is ridiculous, answer by a business owner, he will not be responsible for any breakage he does in your home,
