It’s a park that is very close to my house which is nice for me. Eddie park is also quiet, which I appreciate. I don’t believe this is the most beautiful park in the area, however it does the job when I want to take a nice leisurely walk by myself and not have to pay for use(I’m looking at you, Lacey park)

ADORABLE and quaint little neighborhood park. I went for a baby shower over the weekend. Easy to find and plenty of parking around the neighborhood. They rented the house that overlooks the park. Full kitchen and patio. Perfect setting for a baby shower/kid party.

PLAYEQUIPMENT: It’s pretty much the definition of «A-OK.» The tiny playground has a ladder, a curly-cue pole to slide down, a peekaboo window, and a tame, wavy slide that two kids can go down side-by-side. About 20 yards away there are 2 baby swings and 2 regular swings. The playground and swings both have woodchips as ground cover– I hate getting them in my shoes and they do tend to stick to kids’ clothing, so I’m not a fan. Though technically not play equipment, there is a small wooden foot bridge(maybe 7 feet long) near the Eddie House(see«other» section for description) that small children love to walk over. At one end there are stepping stones that kids also seem to enjoy. SEATING: There are two circular concrete picnic tables adjacent to the playground that stay pretty well shaded in the afternoon. There are also a couple of benches(maybe 2?) in the main grassy area of the park. Aside from that, there’s a low brick wall that encircles the picnic area, and I see people sitting there, too. DOG-FRIENDLY: Lot of people bring their dogs here to run around or just sniff :) The large, open grass area is good for this. There are also several convenient trash cans around to dispose of dog poop that might occur. OTHER: In the picnic area is a huge red-brick fireplace. I assume you’re not supposed to use it, but it lends a homey feel to the place. On the same plot is a large house(the Eddie House), which now is just used as a meeting place for a few different groups. You can rent the house by contacting South Pas Parks & Rec( ).

Great local park that’s smack dab in the middle of gorgeous South Pas. Now I also love Garfield Park and would generally recommend that one above Eddie… but– there’s something nice to say about a little well kept park that’s usually pretty overlooked since it is kinda small and therefore less crowded… or, not crowded by any means! You won’t have to wait for the swings, you’ll have less kids to deal with in general and there’s ample shade and sun for whichever you prefer. Great park.

I love Eddie Park. Why would I like a little tiny neighborhood park? Because I can go there most weekends and there is NOONE there. My kids can run, play, scream and I can see them in every corner of the park without worry. Plus, Garfield Park is WAY too crowded. Eddie Park is like ½ block square. There are two swing sets, one for babies, one for big kids. A small but nice play structure which is also, yay, shaded. A big expanse of grass for running and some trees to climb too. All in all, this is the best park in South Pas-far from the maddening crowds.
