Not a good place for surf advice. Willing rents boards when there was no waves 2 days straight. The girl working there popped an attitude when I suggested they need to tell people status of the water like most knowledgable surf shops. Terrible.

This was a great find. With so many of the shops carrying the same tourist souvenirs this shop had some really great finds. Fun bikes, watches and neat surf duds.
You dont have to be a surfer to enjoy this shop. They also sell eukelayees.

Everything here is cheaper and better than other surf shops. Got a skimboard and it works great. Great place to go!

I was searching for a local surf shop and not just a beach superstore. I found Island Native and it’s awesome!!! There was a great selection of name brand men’s and women’s clothes, flip flops, hats, surfboards, you name it! Employees were very friendly! This place is definitely a local gem!

I went to 3 other surf shops in South Padre and this is the BEST! Kerri the owner and his staff are awesome! They helped me out and on top of that they sold me a Fish Surf board and all the gear (board bag, leash, stickers, wax, and fins) cheaper than what the other stores wanted to sell me just the board for!

As Joey L. points out, this is one of two surf shops (the other being On the Beach) that is worth your time. The others are all just tourist traps filled with junk.
Good high end surf gear and clothing at decent prices.

Venice, CA
This is one of the great SPI surf shops. There is only one other worth going to but this is the only one where you’ll end up spending your time. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area, history and breaks. It still has that small surf shop vibe and not that huge warehouse feeling.
They hooked me up with three of my boards and never felt any pressure to buy. They showed me what I wanted then chatted about surf. You could just hang out in here for a while.
Megan who works here had to put up with me when I was new to the area. I would come in or call her at the store and ask where to eat, sleep, and hang. Thanks Meg.
