Two stars for the friendly inviting accommodating host. From there things go down hill. Our server didn’t seem to be knowledgeable of the menu or Italian food. She appeared indifferent regarding her service. She didn’t check in on us and she didn’t ask why when we didn’t eat our food. The appetizer of focaccia with olive oil and herbs turned out to be a very dry bland pizza crust served plain without garlic or herbs. The pasta was overlooked and the sauce was unusually thick and pasty. The chicken was rubbery and overlooked. The pizza needs a better sauce and crust. We will not go back.

This restaurant has changed it’s name to Best Friends by Blu and they can certainly be my best friend. I went with a workmate and we both had the lasagna, his with meat and mine vegetarian. He said that it was the best meat based lasagna that he ever had. I came out saying it was very good. Service here was very good with no surprises and no lapse in quality. We had the caprese appetizer and again very good with no issues. As soon as you cross US1 on Sunset make sure you take the very first right as this restaurant is on a side street and you will probably not see it from 72nd Street. The restaurant has shrunk in size but it’s still very nicely decorated and the menu should please most people with an emphasis on pizza. Outdoor seating is available in a quaint little strip that reminds me of St. Augustine. Want a nice Italian option in South Miami? Come get some…

We have just revisited a family favorite and stalwart. What a disappointment. Our waitress was sweet but pretty clueless and had little grasp of the happy hour drinks, time or specials . Despite advising it was a young child’s birthday the restaurant failed to provide the promised cake. In addition the request and charged for extra tomatoes failed to materialize. The food was distinctly average at best . Sadly there are few reasons to eat at this restaurant and plenty of better alternatives.

The most awful fettuccine Alfredo ever, the bread was hard. They serve such a low quality food and so little for a high price is ridiculous. I don’t recommend this place at all. Big mistake ordering here.

Hi quality legit italian cuisine. The only woodfire pizza place i know of In miami and very good topping choices. Excellent antipastos, good pastas and good service. Good draft selection including euro beers Morretti and Tücher. And they are so cold they make ice form on the frozen glass when they drip. New owners are clearly trying to bring the place back to glory before the best friends group clowns took it over. Nice work.

The day we went will always be memorable. At dinner, we got confirmation for adoption for a 2 month old puppy. My wife and I were very content and will always remember that day. Oh yeah, the pizza was outstanding!

Unfortunately one of the most unpleasant experiences I have had eating in the south Miami area. Ordered a pizza that was soggy and cold in an uncooked-corndog kind of way. I wasn’t able to get past the first piece, but luckily leaving early saved me from the hopelessly socially inept wait staff. Save your money and time by going to a real Italian place. Or honestly just order Pizza Hut, because I promise it will be tastier.

Came here with a coupon from a reputable source and they refused to honor it– manager only said he had«never seen this in a year» and refused to acknowledge that the printed coupon was using their logo and location. The food was really pretty mediocre for the price we ended up paying, but the 1 star is truly for the customer service.

What once was a great restaurant became a blah joint… if it wasn’t for the wood oven pizza, one would never go there. Service is tepid, and the atmosphere is depressive. If you HAVE to go, get a place outside. Otherwise order the pizza over the phone and enjoy it at home

I really do appreciate this place. Even with the change of name/ownership. They have the best Quattro formaggi pizza that has blue cheese in it. Ambiance is always good although I haven’t seen jt as packed lately.

This place has tasty pizza. I also like the other options on there menu. Try their desserts. It has a very cozy atmosphere, with excellent service. Great place to have a causal gathering or date.

Great place to enjoy a thin crust pizza. They have a large menu, suitable for all taste buds. The service is mediocre but this place is worth to try for the pizza.

Like dial-up internet, the service may lag. However, a variety of well-crafted unique burgers and on-point wood-fired pizzas makes this a great road-side lunch spot

Came here with a friend for dinner on a Wednesday night. The waiter noticed that my dining companion spoke Spanish, so he proceeded to address him in Spanish from the time we arrived until we left the place, while it was obvious that I was a gringo, had to have everything translated for me and was lost when they were chatting, which I found off putting. To this day, I still have no idea what kind of pizza was ordered as it was all rattled off rapidly in Espanol, but I know it had pepperoni, sausage and prosciutto on it. I also ordered calamari as an appetizer to start. I had a soft drink, he had water, we split the bill and it came to just under $ 17 each. The atmosphere here is nice, you can either sit at a table on the patio out front, or inside. The tables along the wall inside this restaurant have booth seating on one side and chairs on the other. The music was a bit odd, a mixture of love songs, ballads, 1980s Kenney Loggins and some modern pop thrown in as well. They had a TV for watching sports which can be seen from most, but not all, the seating here.

Dear Blu Pizza, You never disappoint. I can’t live without your Distinta(caramelized onions, Brie and mozzarella) and Tartufon(mushrooms, white truffle oil and mozzarella) pizzas. The buratta is always fresh and creamy. The wine is always delicious. And the service is always on point. How can anyone go wrong?! Best pizza in Miami hands down. Love you always, Sabrina Anna*

This place doesn’t disappoint. The few times I have been it has been just right. Love the whole oven made pizza, it gives it a crunchy smokey flavor that hits the spot… If the heat permits, sit outside. It is less chaotic and you get to people watch which is always fun to say the least. Inside it is a little crowded for my taste. Try the Blu Salad: Greens with Mango, Papaya, Shaved Cheese & Tropical Vinaigrette –this combo of papaya with cheese is yummy. And ask to give you recommendations on the wine, if you are lucky they will talk to you in Italian – Love that! This place is perfect for a quick afternoon lunch.
