I’m a wedding photographer and photographed an October wedding at Valhalla a few years back. This was a stunning Tahoe venue that was located right along the lake. There was a beach, dock and boathouse that made for some incredible pictures. The interior of Valhalla was incredible. The stone fireplace was a perfect touch to this Fall wedding. If you are looking for a wedding venue in the South Lake Tahoe area, I highly recommend checking out Valhalla. Denise Reason Photography For A Reason

Nice wedding venue in South Lake Tahoe. The reception hall(not the boat house) reminds me of the one in Game Of Thrones — similar to the one in Season 3, Episode 9. If the«Red Wedding» doesn’t make you warm & fuzzy — then maybe you are considering a «Nordic Themed» wedding(think«Vikings»). The beautiful Lake Tahoe surroundings add to the appeal of the venue. Only complaint is you must be done by 10:00 pm, due to local noise ordinance.

When my friends were married on the beach, barefoot, I thought it was the perfect Tahoe wedding. The reception was held inside the main house at the Valhalla estate, and the rustic feeling with all the tiny lights and natural décor was exactly what the bride wanted. Last night we attended the Johnny Cash tribute band’s concert in the boathouse. Very intimate — theater seating for maybe 100 people and we had front row seats. Hard to concentrate on the foot-tappin’ good music when just beyond in the panoramic windows was yet another spectacular Tahoe sunset. Even the band members kept apologizing because they wanted to turn around and look! Hands down, a wonderful Tahoe venue.

This place is beautiful and it made for an unforgettable night for our friends who recently had their wedding reception here. The landscape is beautiful and right next to the lake. The inside is spacious and give a cozy log cabin feel. This is definitely a great place to get married or hold a reception!

Hands down THEBEST venue in South Lake Tahoe… or anywhere, in my opinion! The wedding was breathtaking! Our guests had a fantastic time. The building is BEYOND beautiful, the grounds are gorgeous and the lake directly adjacent… well, I will let the pictures speak for themselves!!! Now for the business side of things. Carolyn is incredibly accomodating and super quick to respond to the MANY questions we had, while planning our destination wedding. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this venue and the staff that manage it. I wish I could have a do-over, just so we could spend another day with friends & family in this gorgeous place! The venue allows outside vendors which is HUGE when designing a wedding to meet your personal taste and budget. I am in LOVE with Valhalla! Thank you SOOOO much for making our day, the BEST!

We had our wedding reception here on October 19th. The staff at the reception was very friendly and accommodating, even though we had a little snafu with a shuttle that was too big. Carolyn is very responsive and was extremely helpful getting all the details nailed down. She even mailed me a few things we left behind! The lawn is beautiful and great for games, and the view of the lake and mountains is just superb. We couldn’t have asked for a better reception venue!

Great historic site. They promote the arts, and inform the public. The music series, the theater productions, and the improvisational comedy at the cozy boat house theater right at the lake are a must for any patron of the arts… be them locals or visitors.

It is a beautiful place but the staff is horrible. It also has many regulations that it is hard to have a perfect event. So if you can deal with the staff and regulations it is 5 star.
