First time there. The people are so nice. The coffee is great. Outside seating area is beautiful. For sure going back. We had coffee and a smoothie. Well done.

Came through as a crew of four ladies needing a spot for wifi and snacks as we planned the next leg of our road trip. Not only did we get our caffeine and sandwich fix, but they helped fill up our water bottles and even offered to mail the wallet one member of our crew left. Had a great experience, would recommend!

Was quiet when I went and very cool and clean on the inside. I was chatting I think possibly with the owner and he seemed pretty nice. I would go back for more. Smoothies were on point, and coffee drinks were great.

If you are just getting into Tahoe or heading back home this place should definitely be added to your stop! It’s a small little coffee shop, but has a large variety of drinks they can prepare. They even have food and free WiFi. Other than your typical chain coffee shops you won’t find too many options in South Shore so if you need a coffee fix, this place is great.

Yes!!! I loved this place. The guy working on Tuesday was super friendly to me and my daughter. The oolong tea was delightful and there was plenty of room to sit and enjoy. And they have a high chair!!! Small things that make it easy for moms to get tea. :). I’ll definitely make the drive from south lake for the friendliness and the quality. Delicious muffins too.

Found this place on Unilocal and thought it looked really cute!
Drove 20 min to enjoy this place, but I was very disappointed.
We walked in and just got glares from the 2 ladies behind the counter. When I was ready, I stood by the register waiting to have my order be taken and the ladies just kept glaring and me and talking and doing whatever they were doing. No acknowledgment whatsoever. We just walked out.
Went to another coffee shop and was greeted instantly. Why spend my money somewhere where the customer isn’t appreciated?
2 stars because the place was cute and cozy

Had a good hot chocolate and a great experience thanks to a warm greeting and lively conversation with owner Barbara. For a San Franciscan who hadn’t seen snow in years, the winter setting was magical — brilliant sunshine and dark wood alpine buildings half-​buried in snow.

This place is a lifesaver! I was so exhausted after a long night, and my hazelnut latte was a dream. My friends caramilla was great too, she let me try it. Oh and the counter service and barista were so friendly and helpful! Thank you!

Great place to. At to catch up with friends and sip on some hot Chai. The owner was very nice and welcoming… Not to mention today she has the Mowtown greatest hits playing on the radio… Love it…

Freel Perk is a local coffee shop just around the corner. They serve local roasted coffee from Alpine Sierra, my favorite. Local bagel and pastries too.

I will definatly be back. Have always driven past to Starbucks at the Y having never noticed this little joint tucked away by the Cal Fire Hdqts. I got a vanilla caramel latte which is usually too sweet for my blood but sounded good being stuck in traffic. I won’t bother going to Starbucks again ;)

What a phenomenal shop! Tasty coffee and yummy breakfast sandwiches. And did I mention what a Grade A+++ sweetheart the staff are? We pulled up with a flat tire and Jennifer offered to help us slap on the spare (which I had never done). She totally saved my weekend. You don’t get that kind of caring service from your every day barista.

We stopped by quickly to get a bagel and a coffee before we hit the slopes. They make their sandwiches to order if they don’t already have one in the cooler, which is nice — but it also takes a little while. It was a pretty regular muffin sandwich, tasted decent and hit the spot for me.
As for the coffee? Eh, in general if I had to put quite a bit of sugar into my coffee it means I don’t like it that much. Too bitter and overwhelming — I prefer light to medium roasts without the bitter aftertaste as that has a tendency to linger in my mouth. I guess it’s nice that it’s all locally roasted but that’s just one facet of food consumption ;)

Nice comfortable spot. I visited it on Memorial Sunday and again on Memorial Monday. Staff are super nice, attentive and friendly, I was lucky enough to get Barbara the owner to make my drinks (thank you).
Didn’t try the food but will on the next visit. Had a cappuccino and a tropical smoothie. Coffee was nice not too harsh, well roasted and good to the last drop. Smoothie was clean and very healthy, if Jamba is your thing you need to change and this is the place to do so.
As a newbie to the spot happy to have made the effort to drive over. My only issue would be trying to turn left when leaving, the road is super busy.
Worth a trip out of your way!
