EXCELLENT! Perfect crust to the pizza, Flavors are fantastic. So many pizza(disappointing, lame,) options in the area but in the end, the only two that matter is here & the Bike Café. My only complaint is the hours — they close at 7pm. By the time I return to town and have to deal w/dinner options, it’s too close to closing. Standard restaurant hours are to 9 but I would be happy with an 8pm closing. The hours are the only reason for the missing star.

I went there at 5:30 on a Tuesday and was told they were not serving pizza that night and to come back on Thursday. What kind of pizza restaurant does not serve pizza?

Just ordered a pizza from there. Crust was charred to a crisp, there were 4 pieces of pepperoni and the bottom was wet. We used to go there before it closed, all the time. This was takeout or i would have sent it back. It went from the best pizza in town to one of the worst. Yuck

This pizza is some of the best I have ever had INMYLIFE. I went with my family during our summer vacation and was blown away! The staff made our experience even better: warm, wonderful and happy! You can tell there’s a lot of love put into this place and their food! The best piece of this pizzeria is the owner, John: incredibly lovable, accommodating and a true Italian chef. I mentioned to him that my boyfriend and I make our own pizza at home and he gave me one of their house made crusts(amazing) to take home to Philadelphia for him to try! He suggested it wouldn’t be complete without using their sauce(which is SO incredible: light, fresh and flavorful) so I took some of that with me as well! I froze the pizza and sauce, put it in my suitcase and we had it for dinner tonight! Of course adding some toppings suggested by John,“not too many but just enough”. My boyfriend fell INLOVE. I will most definitely be coming back to Pizzeria Mezzo when I am back in town and my boyfriend will definitely be joining me! Thank you for everything John and staff! Ariana

Outstanding pizza. Lots of wonderful sauce! Light and fresh. I usually avoid pizza but this was superb. Fresh basil on the margherita pizza, nice owner, friendliest people. We’ll certainly be back!

My family and I love Pizzeria Mezzo. The food is fresh and authentically Italian. We love the chicken parm, the Italian mac n cheese, the bruschetta and really everything. The wood fired pizza is really excellent-you have to try the arugala and proscuitto– deliziosa!

Completely underrated. This pizza is delicious and the owner works very hard to please everyone that chooses to eat there.

My wife and wound up here after coming to do some car shopping. Being from the NYC area and now living in Massachusetts, pizza is one thing that we miss the most from back home and this place hit the spot. Excellent wood burning brick oven pizza that made us feel like we were back home in NYC. For a 12“ish pizza it was a bit on the expensive side, for pizza, but totally worth it. So glad we stumbled on this restaurant and will go again if we wind up in the area

Went here on a recommendation. I wasn’t feeling pizza that night, frankly, I was very grumpy and wasn’t feeling ANYTHING that night but Hubbs was insistent. We drove around a little because it’s not in the plazza as we had thought, but on Tower Hill road… as mentioned in the address… hello. Anyhoo, we ordered the cheese/Mushroom/peperoni and the rabe/roasted garlic/mozzerella. We waited at the bar, ordered it to go, shot the breeze with the waitress who was on that night and then left with our pizza. It smelled amazingly garlicky, which we love. The two of us ate almost all of both. As I sit here, back in Portland, I want more. The sauce on the pepperoni was bright and delicious, the mushrooms were fresh. The rabe pizza, which if I had to choose would have been my favorite, was amazing. SUPER garlic. The crusts on both were crispy and perfect. There are many woodfire oven pizza joints and we have eaten many, many soggy middles and too-done crusts. This was perfection.

Pizza is really good and BBQ is even better! Marinated and juicy delicious! If I were them I would double the price of the BBQ it’s worth it. I would also expand the hours to include lunch Sat & Sun. Also, more desert items because they only sell cannoli.

Not sure if this is the BEST pizza in RI like other reviews have claimed, but it was pretty good. Thanks to all the Unilocalers that led me here! We were craving pizza and this had one of the highest ratings in the area. First off: it’s in the same plaza as Ocean State Job Lot, and it’s NOT the other business it shares the building with, some Greek place that also says pizza(Estia, I think). We ordered the cheese + mushroom pizza, a side salad, and a cannoli for dessert. The food is FANTASTIC but a little pricey. The pizza was $ 11.50 but big(8 slices) and delicious. The salad was $ 5.95, I believe, and the cannoli was $ 3.95(but worth it, also delicious). Small place as well, service was decent although we had to remind her once to bring us waters. I would go back here if I was ever in the area! Best pizza I’ve had on this trip so far, although it’s between this and Papa Gino’s, haha.

I’d give it 3.5 stars. I ordered the pizza with broccoli rabe’ & it had a very nice flavor. The only complaint is that for the price it’s awfully small. It’s better as an appetizer for 2 than it is to take home for a dinner. The staff was very pleasant. Would go again to try a dish next time.

Today was my first time eating here, had a few places in mind I am glad we chose this one. The service was good and the food came quickly. The pizza was really really yummy! The menu is limited, not a lot of appetizers. We were very hungry and wish they had fried mozzarella, but that did not diminish the experience. The next time we go we will definitely bring the rest of the family.

Wished I could of tried it. Turned up at 3pm for an afternoon snack only to be told that they don’t open until 4pm. Need to identify their hours on Unilocal

Very good pizza! Nice atmosphere and addition to that shopping plaza. You kind of forget you’re next to a Job Lot. Check out the proscuttio and arugula topped pizza. It’s such a wonderful flavor combined with the wood fired crust. Definitely check out the antipasto, too!

This is by far the best pizza in town. They’ve got a great selection and very reasonable prices. I eat here just about every week and always leave happy! If you’re looking for a good meal, come check this place out!

John Russo’s wood grilled pizza and skewered meats as well as to die for antipasto(broccoli rabbi, grilled peppers, sopressata, grilled artichokes, olives, provolone), is a welcome addition to Wakefield’s dining scene. Hubby and I go about once a week and the food is amazingly, consistently yummy. The arugula and proscuitto topped crust is one of my favorites,(crispy crust and cool toppings with shaved romano). It has a casual atmosphere with two booths and about 8 tables and a bar with more seating as well as an open kitchen.

My wife and I just got takeout from Pizzeria Mezzo and we are now instant devotees. In the middle of our meal my wife looked up at me and said«This is the best F&*$#@! takeout I’ve ever had in this town!». Although I find her language reprehensible, I do not disagree with her. The dough is the perfect combination of crispy and chewy and the toppings were plentiful and high quality, as was the tasty olive oil. I will be back. I ended up ordering too much food due to my thinking that the prices were for a smaller, personal sized pizza. I was wrong. Next time the vulgar wife and I will split one pizza with a salad or the excellent antipasto.

This pizza is the real deal. True Napolitano style pizza right here in South Kingstown! Went with my wife and teens the other day and we got 2 different pies and a salad. The dough is made in-house daily and the toppings were authentic and fresh. No «Hawaiian» pizza, or buffalo chicken or any other wacky things that in Italy would be laughed at at best and likely get you kicked out of a pizzeria for insulting the tradition. The wood oven pizza is just like what you’d have in Italy(I know, I’ve been there). The owner did a great job making a welcoming restaurant that’s tasteful and clean. The menu is mostly pizza, with some grilled meats that I definitely have to try next visit. They have a full bar, with some good beer choices on draft too. When we were there, the owner stopped by and chatted for a minute with us. It was good to see that he’s in the restaurant, making sure customers are taken care of and that things are being done the right way. This is going to be our place for pizza now in town. Excellent, simple, and authentic — the way real pizza should be.
