Whether you’re a Baron(like me) or of lesser lineage, attending a polo match is something I’d suggest everyone should have on their bucket list. Myopia Hunt Club is a member’s only club at which the public may attend polo matches.(It’s a whopping $ 10 bucks.) As you might expect, its far away in bucolic Hamilton Massachusetts; it’s said that there are more horses than people there. This is tailgating at its finest; Range Rovers, Rolls Royces and a more than a few Astin Martins are the chariots of choice. Barbour clad boys and girls frolic amidst the manicured lawn, routinely dashing out to gleefully stomp divots(holes in the lawn made by galloping polo ponies during the game). Pearls and sport coats for ladies and men. Don’t go all Dutchess of Cambridge with a hat as you’ll look like you’re trying too hard. Bring a bottle of bubbly and toast your team. Folks here are quite friendly and move around as if it were a swanky cocktail pahty. Don’t be put off by the pomp and enjoy the circumstance.
