Cons: Stayed here while attending a training course at N. D from July 12−17th. Rooms appeared clean, but the room smelled musty. My colleague returned home with bed bugs. I know this can happen anywhere, but still leaves a pretty bad taste in your mouth. Pros: Staff was friendly, breakfast was replenished quickly, location to Notre Dame was great.

First and foremost, this is a great location! This hotel is perfectly situated directly across the street from the beautiful Notre Dame campus and right next to the up and coming Eddy Street Commons. My family and I recently stayed here for ten days and I was very pleased with the fact that I had a multitude of food options, as well as a few shops and a Starbucks, well within walking distance. The front desk staff were helpful and attentive, for the most part. The housekeeping staff do a pretty good job with the rooms. All in all, a solid place to stay when you’re in the area.

Clean rooms, large rooms, and great staff! Fabulous value for what we paid for. Samantha at the front desk was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. When we are in south bend again for travel, we will be sure to stay there.

This is the nicest Fairfield I’ve ever seen. It should really be a Courtyard. It’s also the most expensive Fairfield I’ve seen, but it’s just about nice enough to justify the price(almost). It’s got a great location, too, that is walking distance from some good dining and shopping. My room was well furnished, very clean, and quiet. Everything worked. The breakfast area is a bit small, given the size of this property, so it can get crowded at peak times.

Note: There are two Unilocal reviews for a «Marriott Notre Dame» at 1220 W. Angela Blvd. Those reviews are for this hotel, but have the name and address wrong. This is a fairly new hotel and is right across the street from the ND campus. I can actually see«Touchdown Jesus» from my room, about a half mile away. Somehow I lucked out and they upgraded me to a suite — it’s pretty nice, with flatscreens featuring several HD channels in both rooms. The caliber of the furniture is standard, i.e., small but functional desk, loveseat and a firm, king size bed. The carpeting has a pattern to hide the stains(I assume) and the bathroom features an oversized shower stall but no tub. The room is clean, the linen smells fresh, and the AC is quiet but strong. There are several restaurants and a ND bookstore/trinket/memorabilia store on the next block. This place is nice for an overnighter to South Bend.
