John has done great work for us on several projects. He installed a new closet door which required framing in an opening that was not exactly plumb and made it look great. He has done a couple of repair jobs including a rotted beam and replacing several pieces of redwood siding. And he also removed an old double oven and installed a new one that was not the same size — requiring some tricky cuts and creative filling of the existing cabinet. In all instances John was extremely neat and conscientious. He is a great communicator, works to solve problems in a cost effective way and is very very good with the details. I highly recommend John.

We first learned about John from neighbors up the street about three years ago. Since that time we have engaged him to make extensive repairs to a redwood deck, a solid fence fronting our property and a front door threshold. All three projects involved rotting wood and structural issues, and required a great deal of creative problem solving and interaction with us to evaluate the pros and cons of different repair options and to control costs. Plus, we are very particular about the details when we have work done on the house or property. John excels in all of this and inspires confidence in his professional expertise. He is now my go-​to-​guy for all carpentry work, inside and out. He takes a lot of pride in doing a job well and making sure his client is happy. And just as important, he shows up when he says he will, works diligently in often challenging conditions, stays in touch with you as the job progresses, charges a very fair rate (we hired him by the hour) and cleans up at the end of each workday. He is honest and just a very nice guy to be around. I have no hesitation in recommending him highly.

John recently did some overall handy work including fence & gate work, gutter work, repairing rotting portions of the roof, fixed our sump pump and removed some older solar water heaters that were on the roof. John is very nice and honest and his work is thorough and solid and John is very nice and honest. Should we have any other issues come up with the house, we will definitely call him again.
