I absolutely love this shop! The woman who runs it is so delightful & I always bring my friends by when we are downtown. Someday I will have more of a collection. Great for unique gifts & such gorgeous colors inside!

What a unique place! There are tons of clay pots and books on the art of slow cooking. It wasn’t quite my style, but I could really appreciate the art and hand work put into creating these pieces.

I love this shop. The owner Ashrf was wonderful. The clay pots are all so beautiful. The shop has a very special and serene atmosphere. Also carries really interesting cook books. I was hesitant to purchase my tangine at first since I have never cooked with one and it seemed a little pricey at first but I couldn’t stop thinking or talking about it during my trip in Sonoma so i returned and purchased. I have received so many compliments on it. It is one of the larger ones(made in Egypt). I now use as a center piece of my dining room table — definate conversation starter. i also purchased cloth place mats made in Oaxaca. Love them. I look forward to returning. I would mark this as definate stop on your next visit to Sonoma. I plan on returning. Thank you Ashrf — I will make sure to take you up on your offer on arabic music next time I am in town — which hopefully isn’t too long from now.

Really nice store! They have so many clay pots and they are all so beautiful! Also, the owners are really sweet. The woman was so patient with me – I was very indecisive! I bought a bean pot and some rancho gordo beans. My beans are soaking and my pot is seasoned! I am looking forward to dinner tonight!

These days few places prove unique in that most kitchen/cooking related retailers offer similar fare. I am pleased to report that the adjective unique truly applies to Bram. Located on the Sonoma square, this husband and wife shop offers clay cookware from around the world. Over the years my partner and I have purchased a variety of pieces ranging in size from small covered pots suitable for individual servings of roasted shrimp and scallops in a lovely tomato sauce to a large stew pot suitable for cooking everything from chicken to sausage to duck to lamb.. .the list goes on. Here’s the beauty(or one of them) of clay pot cooking: these utensils hold their heat, so one can prepare a meal, bring it to the table, and it remains hot through the dinner. You’ll need to temper whatever your buy, but the owners provide clear instructions about how to do that. This cookware is not only functional, it is also beautiful. While I store most of my pots and pans in kitchen cabinets, the pieces I have purchased from Bram double as lovely works of art gracing the open shelves. Anyone interested in cooking should be sure to visit Bram. Both of the owners are charming and knowledgeable. Don’t miss this UNIQUE spot.

My husband and I stopped by one day and were amazed by the beautiful clay pots, selection of cook books, and the selection of Rancho Gordo heirloom beans. We purchased our first clay pot, cook books and a variety of beans and what a meal! The owner Ash is amazing and I’ve been spreading the word about this gem of a store on our plaza!

Wow, first class all the way! It was so fun to run into this store while in Sonoma. I got introduced to another amazing healthy way to cook. The salesperson was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. I wish buying was always this fun! You have to get to this store and have them make suggestions for you based on your food interests, it will be a very good investment for you and your loved ones! We will be returning there often!

Bram was recently featured in Food And Wine magazine, so I sort of knew to look for it when I was on the square. There are some absolutely beautiful pieces – my favorites, which I’ll return to purchase, were the alabaster bowls. There are some very interesting cookbooks, and Bram sells Rancho Gordo beans which I’ve been dying to try! Very sweet owner. Great place to buy a gift for yourself or your favorite cook.

This place is a new jem right in the heart of Sonoma. My wife and I spent Fourth of July weekend in Sonoma and had a chance to wander around the square. We both love to cook so Bram with its beautiful clay cookware in its window caught our eye. While wandering you can not be impressed by the variety of different regional cookware. Colombian, Italian, and of course Moroccan clay cookware give you a worldwide culinary tour. The item that caught our eye was a beautiful tagine that was ornately decorated but was about $ 180 dollars as I recall. In all honesty a tagine is something that any cook really can do without, unless Moroccan food is a constant staple of the dinner table. It really is not a necessity and we decided to leave without it. The thing is that when we both left we realized that we really appreciated the artwork of the piece and it would be one of those things that you actually regret not purchasing. We ended up going back later in the day and the owner Ash recognized us right away. Ash is great and you can tell this store is a labor of love for him. He is from Egypt and toured around until he could find the right artisans that he wanted to make his cookware. He grew up using clay cookware his whole life and understands everything that you need to know about cooking with it. In the end Ash even gave us a great deal on the tagine as well. I also feel bad for taking so long to write this review because foodies will fall in love with many of his pieces. Check out and also they were mentioned in a Food section all about cooking with clay in the La Times that you can find here
