I usually LOVE Homegoods and have spent thousands at others over the years, but was treated so rudely by the Homegoods Manager of this location(it was my first time shopping the Somerville one). I had bought two matching lamps recently and when I got home I noticed the grey shades had what looked like oil stains on the back. At the store they must have definitely been placed so the good side was facing out. Well when I went to return these they had to call the Homegoods manager up front since the purchase was over $ 100. This Homegoods manager immediately accused me of ruining them and that his staff would have never shelved or sold them in this condition. He said«despite my better judgement I will allow a return of these but I sure can’t sell them now». Hey Homegoods man, I have too little free time and make enough money that I certainly don’t need to scam your store out of two lamps. So, if you buy something here you better plan on keeping it because the grumpy Homegoods Manager will accuse you of ruining the item(s) if you choose to return them. I WILL use my better judgement and never shop this Somerville location again.

I think my apartment is slowly transitioning from an Ikea showroom to a HomeGoods showroom! As a store under the TJ Maxx reign, it sells discounted name brand items to decorate and furnish your home. This means come often, check out the merchandise and accept what’s there one day, will be gone tomorrow! You will find all the tchotchkes of your dreams in this store. Recently, I purchased a cupcake tray($ 7.99), a huge mirror with decorative trim($ 39.99) and hangers(under $ 10). Lately, they’ve had quite a bit of furniture with very different inspirations. They have a range of tables, chairs, and ottomans that look hand crafted, recycled wood and metals, and classic items as well. HomeGoods is a must for those moving or those wanting to spruce up their dwellings.
