Firstcall Computers

I live in Somerville and have taken 3 of my computers to Firstcall over the last 9 years, and they’ve always been helpful, honest, and fairly quick. Their prices have been good too, and I haven’t felt overcharged. If they need to replace your video card, for example, that’s all they charge you for, they don’t invent other «problems» too to jack up the price. My problems have ranged from blown mother boards to burned out power supplies to jammed CD drives to a dead video card. Most recently, Eddy was not only quite helpful, he’s a funny guy too, which helps when you’re stressed like I was.
I would caution you not to use the email option on their website – they don’t seem to monitor it and didn’t respond to the detailed email I sent – but they do answer the phone, so give them a call instead. Also, while their new website makes it seem like they mostly cater to businesses and I was a little concerned they had stopped helping individual computer owners, they are still totally willing and ready to deal with residential issues.

Please be aware!!! Please be aware!!! Be aware!!! This is the wrong place to fix your device. The guys here, repair laptops looking at tutorials on youtube. I brought my laptop who worth 1,200 $ with broken power jack. They just have to change the power jack. After a day of delay I come to pick me laptop, and guess what? Laptop was completely physically destroyed, I do not want to think what they did inside the laptop. They tried to glue my laptop with super glue. They are very unprofessional. Be aware!!!

This place is really good, I went here twice this past week. First to get info off my old computer that wouldn’t even turn on and then again to repair my iPhone screen. They got everything done so promptly and were so friendly everytime I went in, they even stayed open late for me so I could pick up my phone after work! (they’re open till 6 and I work till 6). So I’m giving them 5 stars not only for their awesome customer service but their prices as well, apple wanted to charge me $ 200.00 for the screen replacement and firstcall charged me $ 40.00 (I ordered the screen offline myself so that was just labor) and my phone looks absolutely brand new! I definitely recommend this place for any computer needs.

It’s wierd that this is the first review because I read about FirstCall on Unilocal,but it must have been in a talk thread. Anyway, I took my lap top here because my DVD player wasn’t working and my computer was very slow. They fixed the player (memory problem) and removed a virus. I’m only giving four stars because they didn’t explain anything to me about what they did when I came to pick it up or give me any info sheet to explain. But, my laptop is in top working order so I am overall extremely pleased with their service.
