Boston Stone & Cabinets

Our entire experience with Lee’s was frustrating to say the least. In the end our kitchen looks good for the price we paid but wasn’t worth the frustration. I will TRY to make this concise…
— He quickly measured our kitchen while talking to us, paying little attention to what he was doing. He made multiple measurement errors which we had to point out to him.
— We were clear and organized on what we needed/​wanted and the pros and cons of our choices. This included using the existing oven exhaust hole, leaving a big radiator and two pipes where they were. He asked us multiple times if we’d move the pipes/​radiator (for aesthetics/​extra cabinet space), we said no. He ordered extra cabinets we did not want, ordered a granite backsplash we didn’t want and planned the cabinets such that we needed to create a new exhaust opening in the wall.
— He ordered a drawer that slides open under the L-​shaped granite countertop such that there is no way to reach in. At first he didn’t seem to understand that this was idiotic and unusable even if it «looked better» (he eventually notched the wood on the side so there is a small opening– we use it for take-​out menus!).
— On MULTIPLE occasions the workers (including Mr. Lee) arrived late or canceled. Example: They were supposed to come one Friday «afternoon» — with no sign of them coming, we called a few times never getting a response, around 7:30pm we left our house. At 7:45pm we got a call that they were at our home. The whole project took much longer than expected due to these cancelations and late arrivals.
— The store wasn’t always open during the posted hours. Despite Mr. Lee being on his phone ¾ of time he was «working» at our house, it seemed difficult to reach anyone most of the time!
— When it came to problems, Mr. Lee said to us (and could be heard on his phone to others saying) «I just do the building.» Ummm, this is his company and the only other accountable person is (I believe) his daughter!
The Pro’s? The work was inexpensive & it looked pretty good in the end. Mr. Lee said he was giving us the extra cabinets/​backsplash he ordered for free (though our quote never changed???) He did a little extra work such as installing cabinet nobs and fixing some molding.
