Somewhat of a hidden gem, co-owners Dan and Jerry are both incredibly knowledgable and approachable guys. They love their furniture and do the most amazing restorations(they just completed the piano for the Gardner Museum.) Their emphasis on quality is unparalleled and their love for each piece is clear. They will personalize pieces as you wish and they have a fantastic selection of desks(n.b. their beds never stay in stock.) Unfortunately(for all of you, but not them) this place is about to get a lot of attention/recognition, so it may be a bit tougher to score the pieces you wish. Last thing to note, Dan and Jerry treat each customer alike no matter their budget. Their love for pieces with history, so well made they are to be considered show pieces within your home for 100 years, then to be passed down for another hundred. Well done to them both and thank you for your continued wonderful service. I love this place! For anyone saying this place is «pricey» — you are not buying an Ikea piece that will not stand the test of time. At The Barn you are truly getting what you pay for.

Wow, amazing antique store! You wouldn’t know it but this place is VAST. You have to walk through the small wood shop in the front to the antique space in the back. There are hundreds of really cool pieces here. Don’t expect any awesome deals though — this stuff is pricey!(rightly so, it’s been well cared for and preserved beautifully)

This has not been reviewed yet? Really? It just got a Boston Home Best of Boston 2010 award. I can see why. Designers must find this an amazing resource for 18th and 19th century antiques. The prices, unfortunately, reflect that. There are no bargains here. It’s all fine and restored. Also, they had no mid century, no modern. Don’t let the crumbly lot and hovel like building scare you away.(I drove in and then right out the first time, thinking I had the wrong address). Behind and through the woodworking shop up front is a massive showroom full of goodness.
