I love checking out B&B’s and so far, this one is my favorite! We were taking a lazy weekend tour around the seven springs/ohiopyle state park area after new year’s even in Pittsburgh, and came across the ratings for Quill Haven at 6pm. Called up and Carol said to come on down! So although it was very last minute, Carol was so gracious and accommodating; its so helpful that she lives there as well and says to just ring the doorbell to their room or knock if you need anything. Her wonderful demeanor was a huge part of the wonderful stay. Directions to get there were very easy, and the setup is very warm and cozy. Sat by the fire in the living room and played board games with a glass of wine(complimentary) before heading to bed. The rooms had everything you would need(even the little things like a white noise machine and heated mattress pads) and were very clean. Breakfast the next morning was sooo yummy – vanilla Belgian waffles, fresh mixed berries, poached eggs on english muffins, sausages, and assorted teas and coffee. All excellent quality. An added fun bonus is that they have goats and chicken on site to visit, and they also use their milk and eggs in some of the products and food prepared! Fresh and organic! We met a couple who were visiting for the however many-ith time, as this was their 10 year anniversary and they keep coming back, which also speaks to how great of a place this is. Will certainly be returning in the future!!!

We have stayed here twice in the last two years and both stays were amazing. Carol made us feel as if we were at home. The rooms are comfortable, super clean and large. The breakfasts are incredibly tasty and she’ll adjust anything to your diet. Make sure to check out the barn with the goats, we even got to feed them. Oh, and if you’re a hedgehog fan, this bed and breakfast is a must-see.

This is a beautiful B&B. It manages to be cozy and roomy. Every room has a private full bathroom and unique décor in each room and an adorable hedgehog theme in the public areas. There is a hot tub; bring a suit. You can indicate what time you’d like breakfast and the food is well prepared and delicious with excellent quantity and variety. Tea, juice, milk and good coffee are on offer. There is a cozy sitting area where adult beverages as well as bottled water, tea and coffee are available with board games and a fireplace. This is near skiing, and you could enjoy beautiful Somerset fall foliage. I’m told it is rarely humid in the area. It is also close close to the memorial for flight 93. We were in town with family for a funeral and this was a very comforting place to gather and spend time with family and friends. The owners and staff are considerate and kind. They took marvelous good care of us.

We were looking for overnight lodging for Fallingwater the next morning. It was about a 45-min drive from here. Carol was the only one that got back to us right away and with rooms available. Having to arrive pretty late after a 5 – 6 hour drive from Manhattan, she gave us specific instructions on how enter the house after everyone’s gone to bed. Since it was only an overnight stay(meaning sleep for about 6 hours and a shower in the morning), we went for the bridal suite anyway for a price difference of less than $ 20 for one of the other rooms. The only thing that separates this room from others was the sunk in tub; it was amazing! The bathroom itself was the size of the bedroom, maybe even bigger! Breakfast was so good(especially her mixed fruit muffins) and we had a kitty to entertain us. Carol was a terrific hostess and loved her story behind the photo taking. Watch out for the hedgehogs and/or porcupines!

My husband and I stayed here for our 3rd anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed this charming B & B. Even though it is located on a busy road, once you step through the front door you are transported to an oasis that is cozy, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing. The rooms are clean and very tastefully decorated, as is the whole inn. We stayed in the first floor Rose Room. Carol is the perfect hostess: friendly, helpful, and a wonderful cook. She and her husband have done a great job of maintaining the grounds which include flower/vegetable gardens and a barn area. We were personally«introduced» to their rabbits and Nubian goats! Lots of little touches that you don’t always find in other B & Bs: homemade chocolate cookies, a complimentary glass of wine, sodas, bottled water, teas, and cereal are always available. Breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed sharing our meal and good conversation with another couple from Virginia. If our travels bring us back to Somerset, we will definitely make another reservation at the lovely Quill Haven Country Inn.

We recently stayed here on a recent unplanned kayak/biking tour of Pennsylvania. Carol was very welcoming, down to earth, but not overly intrusive. She fulfilled every expectation of a bed and breakfast owner. The room was clean, attractive, comfortable and homey. We actually had a really great time talking to the other two couples who were there in the evening. We enjoyed a complimentary glass of wine with homemade fresh chocolate chip cookies with them. Breakfast was extraordinarily yummy! Very gourmet and very good! Carol shared some wonderful stories with us, made us laugh, and made us feel at home. We’re so glad we made the«A» group. Lol! :o)

Carol is a great host and a wonderful cook. This is the place that my wife and I always stay at whenever we hit Seven Springs or any other nearby areas. It’s hard to imagine a place that is more quaint, quiet, and homey than this.
