Nothing is better on a hot summer night than King Cone! My family loves it. The soft serve is the best around. The lines often look long but they go pretty quickly. And the«King Cone» sized cone is amazingly huge. Not sure how anyone would get it cause it’s so much ice cream(and at a great price) but I see lots of people with them!!! Lots of great toppings, too. I always get sprinkles but plant to try the brown bonnet next time as it looks awesome. All outside seating. We often meet up with friends and when we don’t, we always run into someone we know. Run to King Cone!

Food needs work. Burger was similar to what you get in a mediocre diner or a cafeteria. Fries were okay. Lobster roll nothing special. The soft serve is really the only reason to come here. If the cooked food were better the place would be amazing, but they are plenty busy as is so why change just for the food snobs?

Probably the best soft serve I’ve ever had! The owners are nice and the picnic tables are always a perfect place to eat your food!

Still the best mint chip and soft serve, however, the servings are getting smaller. Not quite sure if it’s who’s scooping or if the boss is looking over their shoulder. At any rate the serving size is significantly smaller

Come here to have the most expensive soft serve in Westchester! Just bring some hand disinfectant.

There’s a reason there’s always a long line. This is a place your order-call your number-sit outside in picnic benches, while the kids run around and play. Even now that my kids are teens, we still all go, and love it. They have hotdogs and other ffast-type foods, but it’s the soft serve ice cream/sundaes/shakes/etc. that’s the best! Try this place for your ice cream fix!

Typical fast food fried options and very, very delicious soft serve ice cream. No public bathroom, except for the port-a-john. Sand box/area for kids is pretty well-used and pretty darned gross, but who cares. Kids love it. Bring hand sanitizer so they can clean up before eating.

I was looking for a place to stop off on our way back to NYC from Barton Orchards in Poughquag, NY. I didn’t want an actual«sit-down» place since we were all dusty, sweaty and tired after a long day on apple picking. I saw great reviews on King Kone and seeing that it was a good midway point between the orchards and NYC, I decided to give it a shot. They are CASHONLY, but there is an ATM there. There is also a 7 – 11 almost right across the street and an ATM in there as well. There was plenty of parking on a Sunday afternoon in the small lot and I saw that some cars were parked alongside the road which seemed to be fine. Lots of benches there that the staff is always wiping down. A small play area with a sandbox. The menu is great, as they have a great range of items. Fries, burgers, hot dogs, shrimp, calamari, ALLIGATOR?! amongst other items. The burgers by the way a very sizeable and come in a large bun, so don’t expect typical fast food sized burgers here. You order your food and are given a number which is then called from the side window(food pickup). At the food pick up window is a small table with condiments, onions, relish and other fixings for your food. Food was very tasty. The service was also amazing. I would really like to make it a point that all the staff there are great. Everyone was super helpful and patient and really took time to explain everything, especially for us first-timers. I was told at the time of food pickup that they were going to bring me a chicken wing, since one dropped on the floor in the kitchen… and a few minutes later, they brought it out. I mean… that alone tells you what type of business they run. Be sure to save room for the ice cream. Quite a wide selection of ice cream that you can have in cups, cones, or even large pints/quarts to take home. Pumpkin, Apple Pie and Holy Cannoli were some of the unusual flavors that I have not had or seen anywhere else before, but samples all here and they were great. Prices were also very reasonable… especially for the food that you get. Even though we are 30 minutes away, I am more than willing to make the drive up there for a bite.

I love this type of local gem. It’s close, easy to get to and the ice cream is good. Basically only the ice cream is good, the other food was very basic as well as skimpy. This is one of the few places I’ve seen serve alligator nuggets. Too bad they were chewy and fishy(they’re supposed to taste like chicken). My favorite ice cream is the banana cream pie. The staff are super friendly, but the tables were all dirty, dried ketchup covered my table and the one we move to. There was garbage littered all over the place and the only bathroom is a Porto potty that was dirty and unkempt. The sticker stated it was last inspected on the 12th. I had gone on the 15th. That’s a lot of time in between cleanings. Would I come here again? Yes, definitely for ice cream. Maybe to go(on my way to the very cool Muscot Farms maybe). Would I hang out and let my kids play in the playground here. No.

Don’t get the wrong idea. I like this place. I like it a lot. But I’m not giving a roadside clam shack 5 stars. I gave the Mandarin Oriental 5 stars, for f*cksake… That said, as far as roadside clam shacks go, this one is above average. It also helps that it’s just about the only game in town if you want some cheap fried clams and a giant ice cream cone outdoors… but it could stand on its own among competitors. Nothing beats a place like this in the summer. Even though it is September, the fact that it is hotter than the surface of the frigging sun makes a trip to King Kone almost mandatory. Enough already with the weather… just give me an ice cream the size of Peter Dinklage and lets all try to remember this is New York and not Kuwait City during a record-breaking heat wave. The food is typical, delicious, clog your arteries roadside gold– burgers, hotdogs, fried seafood, fried whatever. The ice cream is good quality and amply provided. Large means LARGE. There’s a reason the fat bikers who stop all leave satisfied– and it’s not because I’m selling wallet chains and American flag bandanas out back. The choice of flavors isn’t outrageous, but there are some unique choices in addition to the expected. Maine Lobster Tracks, Pumpkin, Cherries Jubilee and some Espresso concoction were on offer today. I tried pumpkin in an effort to pretend it was autumn in the country instead of high noon in Death Valley. It’s hot, you understand? Good stuff. My wife had the standard chocolate/vanilla soft serve swirl because she likes the color beige and should probably be an accountant or a pencil salesman or something. Boring, but delicious. She did get sprinkles, which I suppose is pretty outrageouZZZZZzzzzzz. So head on over and pack on the pounds for winter, should it ever arrive. Definitely worth a stop if you’re headed north toward the Arctic Circle for relief. Cash only, but there is an ATM around the side. They also have a small playground if your children would like to get heatstroke while you shove fat and cholesterol into your sweating face. I don’t judge your parenting skills. It’s far too hot for that. I will save my opinions regarding that for cooler weather…

This shack ain’t the love shack, but it takes the cake… or banana split that is. It’s got a variety of flavours. If you want to cater to your gut, get the large swirl. There are tons of tables. Park however you’d like. There’s a sandbox for the kids and plenty of shovels and toys to play with. Enjoy and don’t miss out on this one. It’s a town attraction.

I finally got to visit my favorite kind of food shack! I’ve been hearing about it and missing the occasion to join my friends so I was really excited! The lobster roll platter came with fries and coleslaw, and they were all good! Fries were crispy, and even though I tend to be disappointed with coleslaws(because they are often too sweet), the coleslaw here went perfectly with the fries and the roll! I didn’t expect to get to dessert, but I went with the flow and had a cup of soft serve twist. The soft serve was relatively harder than the ones I had at other places but they were still very smooth and pleasant. The calories must have been outrageous but I don’t regret going all in for the one visit tonight: D

King Kone is a cute little ice cream shack located just off Route 100 by Katonah and Somers. Parking is terrible, but that aside, it’s a great local spot– especially in the summer– to grab a yummy, cost-friendly cone. There are tons of flavors to choose from– mostly hard– and each one is equally good! I enjoy personally the low fat raspberry chocolate chip yogurt. King Kone also serves regular food like burgers and fries– I’ve never tried this personally but it is available. There is limited seating, all outdoors, to enjoy your delicious treat!

As we were driving around the Hudson Valley, I mentioned I wanted ice cream and my boyfriend knew just where to go! Located off the highway, there was plenty of parking and lots of cute picnic tables lined up around this old ice cream stand. I went for the«world famous» twist softserve rolled in sprinkles. Rich and light and with the cutest colors of sprinkles all over it. It was the perfect treat! I wanted to try *everything* there, so I guess we’ll have to go back! We sat out back on a cute garden area and cooled off.

Well, it took me almost 20 years to get here. Yep, I was walking from South America. Seriously, I must have driven by this place 1,000 times over the years and for one reason or another, I’ve never stopped. Well I stopped the other day. Great sundae, maybe the biggest single serving sundae I’ve seen in recent memory. I can’t say, like a previous Unilocaler that it’s the BEST Mint Chip ice cream I’ve ever had, but I think 4 stars says it all. In the words of the Governator, I’ll be back!

Best ice cream I’ve ever had! Too bad it’s a bit far from my city otherwise I’d be getting ice cream here more often. Their ice cream is so creamy and flavorful. I tried strawberry in a waffle cone. Wow! Waffle cone is HUGE! I think it holds 4 – 5 scoops of ice cream. That will give you an ice cream coma! I also tired dark chocolate, I usually don’t like chocolate, but it was pretty good. not overly sweet and just enough bitterness. Also.bring cash! No credit card accepted. Thanks to Chris for introducing me to this place!
