I was given a gift certificate for a massage so I chose a 60-minute deep tissue massage. The salon was nice, however it was completely empty when I arrived, therefore no one was up front to greet me. I ended up waiting at the desk for about 5 minutes before anyone came out(and I believe that it because I finally coughed a couple of times to get some attention of the women chatting in the back room). Once I finally did get checked in the therapist was another 5 minutes late. The massage finally got started 20 minutes later than originally scheduled and, though the therapist was friendly and kind, she smelled of cigarettes. It was absolutely nauseating. I could not get comfortable or really enjoy the treatment because I just could not get past that smell. If your occupation entails you being that close to individuals and touching them, than you need to clean yourself and ensure that your cigarette-smoking is done in separate clothing than what is being worn for the treatment. I will not go back as I understand that she is the only therapist, and due to the lack of welcome upon my arrival I do not recommend it either.

I tried this salon out for my first time and was very pleased with everything. I wanted a natural looking hombre color job and my stylist, Tara, did the most incredible job. Tara and the owner, Hilde, were very warm and welcoming. I think their pricing is very reasonable and can’t wait to go back!

As many reviewers have stated before, I wish I could give zero or negative stars. I have NEVER been treated or spoken to so horribly by anyone in any industry, much less from someone in a service industry. To boot, my hair was a complete disaster! ***Stay away from this salon! Especially their«master cosmetologist,» Joanne!*** I’m new to the area, and was trying to find a new salon, and the reviews for Total Eclipse seemed decent, except for the cost(which is astronomical! Never have I spent so much for stylist that I actually liked!) I went to this salon for a hair makeover, it was time, and I was about to head to Europe for vacation and wanted something fun and memorable. Well I got memorable for sure, but not the good kind! Round 1: $ 200 and 3.5 hrs later, I had a mediocre at best hair cut(much shorter than I wanted), and color that I could live with(since she never brought me a color book to choose my colors, she just chose for me). I had funky bright purple chunks(not where I wanted them, but I could live with it). After the 3.5 hrs Joanne’s attitude was simply sad; she was frustrated that I asked her to work to get what I wanted MY hair to look like. Once we were done, as I was playing with MY hair, I asked if she had any palm aid or balm and her response was: «uh, I already put some in there!» Me: «I was only asking because I have no product at home, and would like to buy some.» Joanne: «Oh, well I have this Redkin product.» Wow, did her tune change! Round 2: Since the funky purple had faded to mostly grey in a few days, I wanted the purple to be dyed purple again, that’s it. When I scheduled this 2nd appt, I asked not to have Joanne again because her attitude was so bad from the previous appt, but I was told that she had to fix it. What I expected to be a ½ hour process, turned into a 3 hour all out«1st grade esk» battle. I’m not at all proud to have participated in this argument, but here it goes… After«fixing it» Joanne dries my hair, turns me around and asks if this is what I wanted… my hair was super dark brown with redish«highlights» all over.(Where the F did my purple go??) I responded, «No, not at all. All I wanted was the purple to be purple again.» Joanne throws up her arms, storms away to the salon manager and starts complaining about me. This is where it turns 1st grade: I’m upset that my hair is a disaster for my trip, and all Joanne can say is how horrible my attitude is and how I shouldn’t be talking to her like that. Never once did she apologize. I was trying to get the point across that all I wanted was the purple to be dyed purple, and that she didn’t even ask me anything before she started dying my hair. Now Joanne starts screaming: «I did something nice for you! You should be happy!» Me: «But it’s not what I wanted.» The manager steps in and is defending her stylist of course and tries to explain to me, in fancy hair stylist lingo why she did what she did. No one seems to be getting my point that this is not at all what I wanted(I’m sobbing by this point) and that no one listened to me. After a few tantrums from Joanne storming in and out of the salon, and me sobbing, the manager asks ME to control myself, that they«have other clients in the salon.» To which I respond«You need to control your stylist, and they should know how unhappy I am.» Now Joanne is refusing to work on my hair, so the manager is attempting to «fix it.» But she refuses to bleach and re-dye the area that I want purple. This whole ordeal has now wasted an hour of my precious time. As the manager is attempting to figure out where Joanne originally dyed my hair purple, and as I am trying to figure out where the communication failure was between myself and Joanne; Joanne continues to yell: «You just have a horrible attitude, and you should not be speaking to me like this! You need to stop your attitude!» *This is my shameful moment: Me: «Well, why don’t you stop your attitude!» Joanne: «No, YOUSTOP!» Pathetic, right. I was so shocked that this conversation had actually turned into a childlike battle, that I was speechless(and still in tears). I left the salon after 2.5 hrs and with a million things to do before I left. This wasted the little bit of time I had with my dog before I had to drop him off at my friends house, and now I was rushed to finish packing! I wasn’t charged anything for this visit, since it was to fix the original«styling,» but my only consolation prize for this fiasco was some Redkin shampoo and conditioner. No apologies and no money back from the original $ 200 I had paid… to not get what I wanted, to have wasted hours of my time, and to have been treated, for lack of a better word, HORRIBLY! This pathetic excuse for salon is morbidly overpriced, and the people working there are beyond childish… I have never had to write a review like this, but I felt it necessary to inform the public of the type of people that work at this establishment.
