Teryaki Express

Teriyaki express is totally bomb!!! It’s super fresh, and everything is made in-​house. Eat here if you live Japanese food. The only thing it’s lacking is sushi… But this is Soledad!

Today was my first time trying teriyaki express after passing by like 100 times!
I was pleasantly greeted by the girl at the counter and she nicely answered the questions I had from the menu.
I ordered the #3, which was the teriyaki chicken with rice and vegetables. You can either have your vegetables steamed or tempura. I chose tempura and the vegetables I got were broccoli and sweet potato! I ate all my vegetables since I love tempura vegetables. The rice was nice and fluffy, which compliments the dish. The chicken, however, was a little dry — which is why I took off one star. Even after adding extra teriyaki sauce, it was still a little dry for me. (To each his own)
The reason I took another star off the review was for the fact that there was a child behind the counter touching the food that was going into containers. This won’t stop me from going again but children with no gloves behind the counter shouldn’t be touching the food, especially when there hands are touching everything else.

This place is delicious! I got off the freeway and all the usual fast food chains were there but I wanted something healthier. Got the teriyaki chicken and it was surprisingly high quality white meat. Had it with salad and steamed veggies instead of the typical tempura side. Very good and nice large portion.

Very good fresh food I love tempura vegetables. Food is made to order. I can’t believe this great place doesn’t have any review
