I’m not going to lie, when we drove up I was scared. From the outside it looks like a scene from a horror movie, but we were desperate. It was midnight and everywhere else we had checked was full and/or $ 400+ for a basic room. 1. Don’t leave anything valuable in your car. I feel like things would easily be stolen in the parking lot. 2. There isn’t a chain lock on the inside of the door. I would have felt much safer with the extra lock rather than just the normal lock and deadbolt. 3. Everything is outdated, which isn’t necessarily a problem, but would probably feel nicer all around if it was updated a little. 4. There were a few stains on the ceiling, I don’t know from what. 5. The bathroom area, toilet, sink, shower, was all clean. They didn’t supply us with enough towels though so make sure you ask for them before going to your room. 6. The beds seemed to be clean and even though I read a review that said there were bed bugs, I didn’t see any. We were only staying at this motel because we needed a place to rest for the night before getting back on the road the next morning, which I’m sure is why most people are there. We paid $ 88 +tax for this room which I believe is decent for what we received. Overall, the motel served it’s purpose.

Day 3 of my road trip to San Fran! Stayed here just to rest and the beds were surprisingly comfortable. Checked for bed bugs right when I came in because of the other review but nope! Everything was A-ok. The TV isn’t the greatest and the décor isn’t the best either but for the price it was extremely solid. Even gave me a late checkout! On to San Fran!

This is a hotel to rest your body in for a night before heading on to what you are going to do. It was fine and inexpensive and right next to the freeway. Not a Disney hotel by any stretch, but not complete dive either. It was simply a no frills place to crash after a long day on the road. That was all I needed.

There isn’t much to say about Soledad Motel 8 other than it is very serviceable. As I assume was the case with many of the guests staying at the motel the night my buddies and I stayed, we needed a place to crash near Pinnacles since there were no camp sites. The 8 was just fine. I had read some reviews about bed bugs, and am happy to report there were none. The room we had worked fine, and my friends and I were well rested for a day of hiking our newest national park the next day. Best part about the hotel was its proximity to La Fuente – solid and affordable Mexican.

Made a reservation weeks ahead of time by phone for a holiday weekend and was told I did not need to give a credit card to hold the room. Called the day before to confirm the reservation and spoke with the same person. I told them I would be in after 9:00pm and was reassured that it would be fine. We arrived at 830pm to be told that the room was given away already. The manager said that because she was not the one who put the reservation in, she wouldn’t hold it. She shrugged me off with the excuse that«Kids are so unreliable» which I am assuming is regarding her assistants including the man who had taken my reservation. Terrible customer service.

So yes, the interiors are a bit older, but this is more than made up by the cleaning efforts and friendliness of the staff. Our room was very clean and we made use of the mini-fridge and microwave. No coffee maker in the room, but we could get coffee(and doughnuts) at the main office. Would definitely stay here again if going back to Pinnacles National Park.

I’d say do not stay here as we woke up to finding bed bugs. Disgusting feeling knowing these things have possibly crawled on us. Had to go to laundry mat and wash everything we were traveling with. Horrible and down right creepy feeling. We did make the motel aware and they were not apologetic nor did they care to come see what was lurking in the bed. Pay a few more bucks and stay some where else. Note to self ALWAYS examine beds before staying at any hotel/motel. I will for now on!

Nice basic motel. Kinda old, but owners appear to care about it and have upgraded with things like WiFi. Surprisingly quiet considering it is between 101 and the railroad tracks. As someone noted, nice blackout curtains. Front counter staff friendly and helpful(actually he was the owner’s son or maybe now the owner). No public ice machine – ask at the front desk for ice. If you’re expecting an über-sanitized chain, you might not be happy here. But if you like funky but clean, you’ll love it.

J had all the facetime with the staff here, so I can’t comment on the service. The rooms were basic(had an almost identical layout to the Stagecoach Inn in Monterey), but neat and clean. I think we paid around $ 80 – 100 for one night(including taxes+fees). PROs: — Fridge & microwave in the room — Convenient location — Comfy bed CONs: — Sketchy stains on the furniture(chair upholstery) — Strategic arrangement of furniture to cover holes/tears in the carpeting — Über sensitive plumbing– near impossible to get the correct water temp for the shower If you’re looking for a place to stay near Pinnacles National Monument, this is a perfectly acceptable motel. Recommend.

The staff here is friendly and courteous. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. Have small refrigerators and microwaves. Convenient location. Great«blackout» curtains in the room! We enjoyed our stay here.
