Mountain Adventure Center – MAC

The Mountain Adventure Center (MAC) is perched at the outside entrance to Snowshoe Village, with full access to both snow sports and some of the best mountain bicycling in the nation. During the Summer, the MAC serves as the mountain biking center, renting and selling top-​of-​the-​line mountain bikes and serving as repair shop and retail center for upscale clothing lines such as Burton and Mountain Hardwear. During Winter, the MAC rents top-​notch demo skis and awards a rental credit for purchasing the skis. It also stocks top-​line safety gear such as goggles and helmets.
I’d award the MAC a 4-​star rating. However, in the recent past, I’ve seen that many of their employees, obviously experts at their trade, treat customers with disdain and lack of courtesy. That’s unforgivable in a store that is supposed to be the Snowshoe’s Ambassador to the expert and proficient crowd. Twice within the past year, I’ve brought my skis to the place and been treated as if they were doing me a favor. I’d feel bad if I hadn’t seen others being treated the same way. Go figure.
