I can’t explain it but, the Sushi here is better, maybe fresher. I love the lunch special which is less than any other sushi restaurant in the area and the portion is great. The most important aspect is that the service and food is consistently good. I go there at least once a week!

When we checked into our hotel, we asked the desk manager where to get good sushi. He suggested Blu Sushi. It was excellent. The sushi was very fresh and we tried several types. There is an extensive menu of sushi for every taste. The service was great and we enjoyed a glass of wine with dinner. I will definitely return next time I am Atlanta and would recommend to everyone.

3.7STARS /5 Repeat Customer Location — Very good. Easy access to Cobb Pkwy & Cumberland Blvd and just ½ mile North of the 75⁄285 interchange. Parking — Plentiful, level lot with easy handicap access too. Atmosphere & Décor – Good. It’s very tidy, quiet, dimly lit, Modern & Stylish. Service — Fairly helpful, expedient, but not personable. Won’t bother you needlessly. Menu Selection — Satisfactory. Good variety but descriptions would be appreciated. Food Quality & Taste — Scores 7 out of 10 when compared to other sushi restaurants I’ve sampled. I trust quality can often be gauged by Salmon Roe(Ikura?) and octopus. Both were satisfactory but not«excellent» grade. The house sake is better than many places.

Great sushi restaurant for a casual dinner. Nothing out-out-of-this-world incredible or different, but I really enjoy going here and the sushi is very fresh. I feel like you get a lot for your money.

I went with co-workers over lunch and they said it was A-OK. I thought it was okay too, but I’m a sushi expert. Lots of lunch specials. Good variety and quality for the price.

Great Sushi, but for me it is all about the Nabeyaki Udon here. Ever since I tried it, it is the only thing I order from here!!!

This is one of my favorite places for lunch. The sushi is always fresh and really tasty. The lunch special is a great deal and you get lots of food. In fact, It’s always too much for me to finish. I love the sushi rolls and the nigiri options. The seared tuna and salmon are my favorite. The restaurant is never really crowded and the service is pretty good. I recommend coming here if you want inexpensive, quick and tasty sushi. You won’t be disappointed!

Love, Love, Love this place! Excellent service & excellent food. My favorite is the Blue Moon & the spicy mayo dipping sauce. As much as I love eating here, the waiter can be a bit obnoxious & while I appreciate the cleanliness of the place, the products leave behind an overwhelming smell. The best way that I can describe it is Fabuloso. So it smells good, it just very strong! At least you know the place is clean right? lol

I’ve been here a couple times for dinner, the first ordering a big bowl of soup and the second miso soup, house salad, and teppanyaki seafood skewers. I remember the soup being excellent, with very flavorful broth. The miso soup was a little bit saltier than I’d like but otherwise very good. The house salad came with the standard carrot ginger dressing on the side, which was also very good. Teppanyaki skewers are all $ 2(oddly, the scallops are the same price as the chicken) and are pretty small, so order a lot. I ordered one of each. Here are the ones I got in order of my favorite to least favorite. Sea Bass — this was incredible. The fish tasted very fresh and had a buttery, melt in your mouth texture and delicate flavor, with a crispness on the outside from the grilling. Some of the best seafood I’ve tasted lately. Scallops — pretty standard fresh well grilled scallops, which are wonderful things Shrimp — again the cooking was done very well so that the texture of the shrimp was very delicate Salmon — the texture was ok and the flavor suggested it might have been less fresh than the other seafood chicken — nicely cooked, moist, good texture tuna — cooked through, pretty dry. I am used to eating tuna rare or raw There are a variety of other items on the menu as well. My wife ordered a crunchy sushi roll which had tempura shrimp inside and was covered with slices of tuna and salmon, and dusted with a huge amount of panko bread crumbs. I don’t think the panko dusting added much to the roll, and I felt the salmon tasted not very fresh. I also though the tempura shrimp tasted like it was fried in some older oil that was toward the end of its life in the seafood fryer. I can say the soups and teppanyaki are excellent here, but I’d hesitate to recommend the sushi.

I’ve been here a few times and the food was really good. Cheap and delicious. Plus each time I’ve gone, the waiter is named«Long D» which I find endlessly hilarious. They’re pretty friendly and eating at the bar is A+. Itd be nice if they had a wider beer/saki selection but overall I’m giving it 4 stars.

Quality of Service: A+ Quality of the food: C+ Ordered three different rolls tonight, quality of the rolls seemed a bit off to me. Wanted to give them a try since they are close by, but next time I’ll be going to a different place.

I wish sushi was always this inexpensive! Several of people who work for my customer are here at least once a week for lunch and I can completely see why. The service is outstanding, the sushi is excellent and the price is a bargain. For one of their lunch specials, you get one roll(pick from a list) and a choice of ten pieces from a list of sushi. Some of the guys have a specific order, but I find it’s easier to simply let the chef choose. And choose he does — seared tuna, seared salmon, whitefish, seaweed salad, too many more to try and remember. All of it very fresh and very good. I will absolutely be back!

Not mind-blowing, but solid food, solid service, nice selection of drinks, and the combos — both lunch & dinner — are big bang for the buck. If you’re adventurous, get a bottle of Zipang… sparkling(chilled) sake. Sort of like… champake! Place gets busy during lunch & has a dinner rush… totally empty at other times. Fish is always fresh. The seared salmon & tuna are a little too cooked & covered in Cajun spices. Not a fan. If you like Ru Sans, stay away… Blu is a quality meal, not a greased-up seafood buffet of sub-par fish.

I came here for the first time today for lunch. I got the lunch special that came with a roll and 10 pieces of nigiri that you can pick out yourself. I ordered the shrimp tempura roll that was nice and crispy with a sweet sauce that tasted like the unagi sauce. As for the nigiri, I think that the rice could have been shaped better and more uniform. There were some pieces that were half the size of others. I ordered sake(salmon), sake tataki(seared salmon), unagi(eel), and wakame(seaweed). The sushi was great but the rice that they were sitting on were odd shaped. The person who served me was very nice and attentive. He noticed that I was Vietnamese which I thought was very nice. The atmosphere was great. Can’t wait to try their special rolls. They have good prices here.

LOVEIT. Blu has been my sushi spot(every other week at least) for both of my stints in ATL. The first was the summer of 2008, I’m not sure why someone said they opened in 2010 in a previous review… Having returned a year ago I see not much has changed. It never seems busy, probably owing to the location, but the service is top notch. You should expect a lot of attention and some good natured ribbing from the main waiter/staff member(probably owner) who has been there every time I have ever eaten. Some people don’t enjoy it but he is a nice guy and always spends a few minutes talking to us now that we’re regulars. The prices are reasonable for sushi and the quality is decent… Fresh and a good value. I like the nigiri and superstar roll… Occasionally the crispy tuna roll. If you’re feeling dessert the tempura fried ice cream is also a treat.

Ive been here a million times for lunch during the week, as my office is literally 5 minutes away. The lunch menu is vast and the fish is always fresh. I usually will get a dragon roll, but I ALWAYS get the seared tuna. Yummy– its my favorite thing here, that and the seared salmon! Love the seasonings. The service is good-enough, and the food is always well-prepared, plus the price is right for lunch, where you can add a salad with this really great dressing(apricots I think?) and miso soup.

I had a meeting at Blu Sushi last night. Since this place is right across the street from my job, I decided to give them another try. The first time I went there was about a year ago and MAYBE, just maybe I ordered the wrong thing. I was a rookie at sushi then, so I take the blame for that. So anyway I decided to give them another try after reading the reviews. I started off with the House Salad with Ginger dressing. Not bad. Then I had the Rising Sun. The pieces were HUGE. I had to take 3 bites. Ive never had to do that. The taste was about a 5. Eh, Ive had better. The staff was horrible. I had to wave my hands to the waiter THREE times to get attention, but overall I think it was ok. I would go there again. Maybe at lunch next time. I think I could catch up on some reading during my break since theyre not really busy and the music was cool too.

Disclaimer: I’m a vegetarian and came here with friends. Don’t come here if you are a vegetarian and expect to eat anything good. I got the vegetarian noodle bowl and it was pretty disgusting. It just tasted like sodium. I shared veggie fried rice with my husband and it tasted the same as the soup – like sodium. That is not a good sign. I usually don’t have a problem getting a veggie sushi roll around town, but this place has NO vegetarian sushi options. The service is good and my friends seemed to like their sushi alright – just alright. The service is actually pretty good, when I told the waiter I didn’t really like my food he brought out a little orange with the rind cut to look like a bunny – it was pretty adorable. Moral of the story: Don’t eat here if you’re a vegetarian.

Imagine you’re going through a construction area and you find some abandoned dry wall. You then cut up said dry wall and soak it in water, make it into a 1.5 inch ball and throw some fish on top of it and you have the rice that was the foundation for this sushi. Tasteless, starchy, overcooked giving the overall impression of dietary self-abuse. The freshness of the fish was okay. The unagi was fine. The price for the lunch special was AWESOME. The service was very good. Moderately loud techno playing in the background. This is Atlanta… you CAN do better than this in taste! If price is your main consideration, then you’re good.

Everybody that’s been to Blu Sushi loves this place. They rave how awesome the sushi is. But for me, like Thai restaurants, I’m used to a lot of sushi places. Sushi places have to be very special for me to like it. Is Blu Sushi one of them? Not really. It’s another trendy sushi place in Cobb. The minute you walk in you see almost everything painted in blue. I guess that’s why they’re called Blu Sushi. They play vocal trance and dance music in the background. It doesn’t really fit the mood, but it’s okay since the music is turned down low. Their sushi is decent. But it’s not anything to rave about. I can get the same quality sushi at any American-Japanese sushi fusion place. But everyone thinks this place is the sushi Mecca of Cobb. I’ve been here twice, and I can’t find anything special about this place. One thing that really got me was that they messed up constructing my sushi rolls. It fell apart when I picked it up, and I had to reassemble it. My friend’s sushi were in the same shape. That is pretty bad sushi craftsmanship. Since everyone gives this place tons of praise, you guys should check it out for yourselves. The sushi is decent, but nothing eye-popping. Maybe I’m just a sushi-snob.
