Not as good as in the past. Food and restaurant itself is in need of some tlc. Dirty and dingy and yes even carpeted. Ceiling fan above our table had and inch of dirt. Food was just ok. Not good enough to make us overlook everything mentioned.

Ordered from here last week. The taco was soggy and broken, the burrito tortilla wasn’t very good, there were too many beans, and the salsa wasn’t very impressive. I WILL, however, say this… the Sloppy Yucca Fries are SOAWESOME. For this dish, I will continue to be a customer and give a try to other things on the menu.

I enjoy this Mexican restaurant, the food is always fresh and cooked to perfection! Definitely a place to visit in Smithtown. I recommend you check it out!

To put it simply, they really need to step up their game. They are getting a lot of business because everyone is like hey! how ya gonna mess up Mexican food, but they are doing it. We ordered out, only the top of the nachos were covered in «melted» cheese. I use the quotations because it wasn’t melted, it was hard. and cold. The burritos didn’t stay together and its always dry and bland. Not special. They should take advantage of their position as the only Mexican place in town that is cheap enough for people to want to get take out there and step it up.

I just had to say the chipotle chicken and white bean served in a warm flour tortillas with sour cream red onion and fresh cilantro was to die for! It was just the right temperature and very fresh! Their grilled shrimp tacos are superb, also. Thanx for a great dinner! Marianne, Smithtown

I never thought any location had such great service,(Bayport probably being the best) but, this one takes the cake; the rude cake. The food didn’t even come out hot and the girl charged me for sour cream… not nice at all. If I craved Salsa Salsa and lived near here, I’d drive out of my way to another one in a heart beat. Chips are stale. Food is cold. Everything just seems a bit dry and chewy. Run of the mill, guac, chewy steak, bland everything.

The food and service are always top notch. I’m a big fan of the Shrimp Salad Wrap and my fiancé loves the Waffle Fry Nachos(with bacon of course).

I enjoyed the meal I got here and thought the place was nice. It’s a more casual Mexican restaurant compared to other places I’ve been.

Chips were a little stale. The guac was either made with over ripe avacados or was old. The tomatoes did not taste good. And the steak in my fajitas was so tough that I had to cut it into small pieces before i could eat it in a tortilla. I told the waitress about the guac and tomatoes because I thought they should check it out. She pretty much brushed it off. Even though I didn’t touch the guac after tasting it I was still charged for it. The place is cute but needs to be cleaned up. Love the bright colors and décor. To bad the food wasn’t good. I feel sick to my stomach after eating there.

Love the food and the service. I look forward to the weekly specials and the drink menu has expanded nicely. Worth trying the special sangria of the week. Great food for a reasonable price. The guacamole is great. We love coming here.

Very good service, food is very fresh, and the best nachos me or my girlfriend have ever had. Prices are fair and the dishes are huge! Very good, highly recommended for quick lunch or even a nice dinner date.

Great food and service, recently celebrated a couple of family birthdays and all 5 in our party were happy with our orders. The margaritas are fantastic! Get a pitcher, well worth it! Go you won’t be disappointed!

Mediocre. Ordered guacamole and I’ve had better elsewhere. Chips were nothing special either. Salsa was good at least. Had three tacos, one chicken, one steak, and one chorizo. They were all as if I made them myself at home although I’d make them tastier! All three were pretty bland, I had to add salsa to give it flavor. By their mistake they gave me a pork taco but the waitress quickly overheard the server and corrected him. They took my plate away and two seconds later told me to start on the other two tacos while waiting for the chicken one. Less than a minute later they brought my chicken taco on a plate. It was cold and started to get soggy. It sucked! I’ve had better chicken tacos at Taco Bell. So disappointed. Also had a ½ pitcher of mango/blueberry Sangria which was good. When paying the bill I showed the woman at the front counter my phone for the 10% off Unilocal check in and she wasnt too happy with it telling me she didnt even know how Unilocal has the discount available because she never asked for it or did anything to have the promotion in the first place. She still gave us the 10% off after going on and on and we were appreciative, but that was annoying.

This place is damn good. The food is really fresh. I do wish they gave the same amount of tortilla chips you used to get. My family orders from this place all the time, and we used to get 2+ bags worth of tortilla chips. Now they only give 1. But that’s okay, it’s still a good deal. I really like their salsa. My favorite thing to order is a chicken burrito. My family and I mostly get the take out. I have eaten in person before, the place is really tiny… If you plan on bringing a lot of people, you should just get take out from here as their restaurant can only serve a small group of people.

Very good food The hot sauce/salsa is amazing. I had the fried burrito(chimichanga) It was huge, delicious, and I ate the whole thing. All the food here is typically high quality, top notch, and really enjoyable.

Went here for my pre-birthday celebration with friends. We started with margaritas that were really nicely made. Chips and salsa served complimentary at the table were good. The salsa was tasty but would have been nice if the chips were warm. They were courteous about refilling both the chips and salsa. A couple of people ordered the standard fajitas in either chicken or steak they all thought they were average but good. I will be coming back for another spinach quesadilla very soon the jalapeños inside gave it a nice kick. The side of sour cream topped it nicely. I would like to try the guacamole next time as well. For a casual inexpensive night out it definitely hit the spot.

I can say this, we’ll be back. I had a ground beef taco and a soft chicken taco while my wife has the ensalada de pollo. Both were surprisingly fresh and tasty and very light on the wallet to boot! Considering the size, there are a decent number of tables, but Friday night was pretty busy, so I’d recommend dropping in another night. I would assume Saturday is much the same. Quick Tip: Free Sangria Sunday thru Thursday!

I live a mile away from the Port Jeff location, so walking in here is like Disneyworld! Its so nice inside this new location, the Port Jeff location is small and cramped. If you do grab a seat @PJ, your watching the cooks prep the food. The new location has many booths and tables to sit and relax. Here’s the 3 star, A-Ok part. The food is just like the Port Jeff location. I thought, different location, different chef. Maybe the chef came to open the new location? We started with the chicken wings. Dry and over sauced. Here’s a wing test. Go to Hooters and order the wings. Every time I go there, the wings are consistent and most of all taste fresh. Rating — Broken wing, one star The calamari was plentiful, I liked the sauce and we all enjoyed this dish Mamma bear — When she goes to PJ, she always orders the Taco Salad. It was the same and enjoyable Sonny Bear — Roast Port Burrito. This is where Salsa Salsa excels, they make a good burrito. Is it the best coming straight from Mexico? Maybe not but its good for Smithtown so don’t hate! Baby bear — BLT tacos. He orders it without aioli mayo, he liked the dish. The same as the PJ location And finally Papa Bear *(me) I ordered the surf and turf tacos. And just like Port Jeff, it *wasn’t* good. The meat was weird and chewy and the«surf» had flavorless baby shrimps. $ 16 bucks? I coulda had a fajita, something with flavor. Drinks? Bangin’! Margaritas and«White’ Sangria were off the chain. If we’re shopping or come out of the movies and want Mexican, will we come here? Maybe but we’ll keep it simple. $ 16 bucks for yuckko food is uncool
