Great menu and service. Went for first time last week. Check out their menu. So many options we will be going back soon. Great wine selection by the glass as well and service was excellent. Had the whole fish encrusted in salt and baked. Meatball app was great too.

A great place. Bennie cares about his customers and goes out of his way to try to make them happy. Try the new tuna and salmon tartare appetizer. It’s worth the up charge if you’re having the amazing lobster special. It’s my favorite restaurant when visit Long Island.

This is a traditional Italian cuisine with a rustic feel and fire place. As you walk into the restaurant, there is a bar directly in front of the entrance with a private room to your left. The dining room is a 90 degree turn to the right of the lobby bar with a walk down into the dining room. The dining room has its own small bar without seating as you enter the dining room. The dining room is cozy, but can be loud when you are sitting by large parties. On this visit I had the Octopus Salad as an appetizer and the Lamb Chops for an entrée. Both were excellent. The Oyster Rockefeller was fabulous also, probably the best we have had at any restaurant.

As a smithtown resident, I have to say this is one of the best places to dine out. Great food and one of the best ambiences in town. Occasionally I like a nice cocktail before dinner. The bartender, Robert(I believe) can’t be older than 28 made me one of the Best Old Fashioned’s Ive had in a long, long time. Reminded me of the old time bartenders you see in the city. Quick with a joke, or story and very friendly. He was a one man show behind the bar and when I was there, had to be 25 people looking for drinks. I will be back soon if not to eat to at least have one of those famous Old Fashioned’s. Keep up the good work. Can’t wait to be back.

Our night started at the bar where we waited for an hour for a 6:45 reservation. The singer and pianist made the time there enjoyable, and the bartender bought us a round for waiting so long, way to go!(Wait, they just tried to charge us, caught that one) Our food was delicious but the service was impersonal(didn’t even know our waiters name). I like to know who my waiter is, but these guys are not sociable. We ordered the cold spinach ceaser salad which was shared and delicious. We also had the stuffed shrimp(3) for $ 30 and the roasted duck(5 slices) $ 29. The duck was delicious in a cherry demiglaze but pricey, but that is the reputation of Casa Rustica, being in Smithtown for as long as I can remember. It is worth the trip for a special evening.

I think I would really like this place a lot more if I enjoyed lobster. For the last decade or so, I’ve been here numerous times with family and for business. Every time I come, the entire table gets the table side lobster special. Myself, not being a fan of lobster always ends up struggling to pick something else. Last night I tried their Chicken Scarpiello. It was ok. Not bad, but nothing memorable. The rest of the table(10 others) all ordered 2−3lbs tableside cooked lobsters. Everyone seemed to really enjoy it. Those dishes come with a choice of any app and any dessert. Which makes sense after seeing the bill. We averaged about 100 a head(with tip). So going off my families input, Id recommend this place solely for that lobster special. Other than that, I have other favorites in the area for Italian.

Was one of our favorite restaurants for special occasions, but food and service are deteriorating. We made a reservation, but still had a long wait and were located right by the bar. Staff was yelling for table setup while we waited. Service with 2 kids was very slow and required asking for someone to help us regularly. Bread was slightly stale. Food was average to good, but not outstanding. They apologized for the slow service by saying they were short staffed, but that is not a good excuse at a premium restaurant. Unlikely that we will return as we live about 30 minutes away.

Our dining experience, for our Anniversary, was disappointing. As we pulled into the parking lot, we were greeted by the valet who seemed like he just didn’t feel like working. He had the parking ticket between his fingers and turned his hand. This was his way of offering the ticket to us. Little, if anything, was said. A man in rolled up sleeves and a button down shirt walked to the door and escorted us inside. We didn’t know if he worked there. Maybe he just parked our car. We weren’t sure. He next arrived at our table and asked us for our drink order. Very strange. They sat us by the bar. Customers entering and sitting on bar stools were distracting, as was the two TV’s on the wall. For a higher end restaurant, this was very disappointing. The waiter was helpful but also seemed like he’d rather be elsewhere. We received none of the attentiveness that we expected. We shared the surf and turf. Both were good, not spectacular, but good. In the car, after our meal, we reminisced about the Casa Rustica from the past. We remarked about how delicious the food was and how the waiters were so attentive and addressed you with respect. I don’t think we will be returning anytime soon.

I don’t know what the hype is about this restaurant. The food was mediocre, the prices were expensive and the service was chaotic.

Finally my wife and I got a chance to have a date night, and it was well worth it thanks to Casa Rustica ! Love the new décor, felt welcoming as soon as we open the doors. Greeted quick and prompt, waiters were knowledgeable and friendly and offered suggestions. The chef personally came out to see how things were and offered his suggestions. Food was amazing and presentation was even better. We’ll be back !

I had people with me from Milan, Italy with me who rented and raved about this place. Pasta was amazing! Wine list to die for! One of the best Italian restaurants on Long Island!

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. I had my surprise Bridal Shower here on Sunday. Not only was the food exceptional, but the staff was courteous and hard working. The private room was stunning and immaculate. The gentlemen even helped us get all of the gifts into the car after the shower was over. I had never heard of this place before my shower — but they have most definitely made a new customer out of me. Will definitely be returning! Thank you to Benny and everyone at Casa Rustica for an amazing day!

After moving to huntington I found it hard to get a good Italian meal. I was recently introduced to Casa rustica and now I can’t get enough. And on a saturday night Benny the owner even greeted us and asked how we did. Love this place!

This restaurant warrants ZERO stars. We had 8:00 reservations tonight for my husband’s birthday. We arrived at the restaurant on time. It was a mad house when we entered. There was no leadership, anywhere to be found. When my husband went to check in, he said, «Don’t you want my name?», and the gentleman said, «No» and walked away. The other man in charge was drunk behind the bar and was beligerent. We stopped a server walking by and told us he didn’t know when we would be seated and shrugged his shoulders. We proceeded to leave and others followed suit. We made our way to Mill Pond House in Centerport, which is our favorite. We were greeted by 3 different people making sure we were seated and comfortable. Service and food were exemplary as usual. Take note, Casa Rustica! You not only lost potential good customers but will never recommend you. Your loss!

A fine establishment. Hands down the best food and service on the Island. It is very hard to find a place that offers great service and consistent food as well. To name a few of our favorites, burratta, octopus(it’s amazing), stuffed chop(veal or pork) and the lobster specials are incredible. All in all everything on the menu is fantastic. Benny truly knows how to take care of his customers as well. It’s our go to place a few times a month.

A favorite with the locals, this place can get very crowded. The food and service are good, but I think, overall, it’s over-rated. We went on a rainy Saturday night with two other couples and every table was filled, so I guess they are doing something right! My husband and I had a seafood dish which was good but since we don’t live in the area, I won’t be making a special trip back. I have no complaints but didn’t think our meals were anything special. Sorry!

Have you ever had a lobster, I believe. You have not! Not until you have gone to casa rustica. perfect in every way .they steam it first, all three pounds of its succulent body, then at table side they bath it with butter and cognac. perfect!!!

Want to hear a nice story? It’s birthday time and my friends want to go someplace special. They choose Casa Rustica and I don’t have the heart to tell them about my past experiences there. A weird room made me feel like I was having dinner in a basement. It was overpriced, and they never honor reservations. I say nothing but I’m not really expecting much. And so, when we show up at 7:30 on Saturday evening I am expecting the worst. This is what actually happened. The valet takes our car and we enter the restaurant. A very pleasant hostess checks our reservation and escorts us to an excellent table in the main dining room.(I had never been seated there before). We are greeted by a very professional server who takes our drink order. Could this be the same restaurant that was so poor just a few years ago. Drinks come and we are told the specials. One is a 2 lb. lobster dinner, complete with any starter, coffee and dessert for about $ 55.00. Remember, this is Saturday night. So much for too expensive. Our meals came promptly and no one at our table had a single complaint — apps through dessert were uniformly good. Everyone had a super evening. What a wonderful improvement. If they can repeat this kind of experience Casa Rustica will once again rise to the 5 Unilocal star elites.
