Never would have found this place had it not been for my Burger Blowout coupon. I was a bit surprised at how busy they were on a Thursday evening, but after my meal, I got it. This place is super solid, while maintaining very low prices. All the staff were super friendly. The locals must love this place! While they weren’t flashy, our burgers were seasoned well, cooked to the desired temps and topped with fresh ingredients. Simple and tasty! With fries/onion rings, the cheat day burger was a very large portion for just $ 7.50. We took some dessert to go. I don’t think I’ve ever had grapenut pudding before, but I thought it was pretty good. They were out of red velvet cake, so they mentioned that they had cookies ‘n cream cake, but it was nothing special and a bit generic, to be honest.

Solid joint! I tried their red chowder(they were out of white, but only told me after I had ordered it, boo hoo) and clam cakes. Pretty good. The burger was definitely tasty. Freshly sauteed mushrooms really shows that they care about quality. For dessert, I had grapenut pudding — my most favorite of all old lady desserts. It was a great portion for only $ 1.99(boy, was I so pumped). I’m looking forward to trying them for breakfast!

After reading some mixed reviews — and not having been here for a few years — I didn’t know what to expect when a friend from the area suggested meeting for breakfast last Saturday morning. It was a surprisingly good experience. It was nearly 11am when we got there and happily missed the early rush as there was no line, no waiting, and there were enough empty tables to choose from. The service was prompt, friendly and correct — everything we ordered was on our plates(some past reviews complained about mixed up orders) but ours were like Goldilocks — just right. There was also a lot of food so we ended up taking home leftover’s. All in all a good experience. I would definitely return for lunch or dinner with the husband and teenage son.

Never would have known about this place if it weren’t for the Burger Blow Out from RI Food Fights. Happy to have found it! The place had s diner-esque feel to it. Can choose a table, booth, or counter, ideal for parties of 4 or less, but I’m sure the staff would be willing to assist with larger parties if able as they are super nice. I’m thinking the have a lot of regulars here; the staff seemed to know just about all the patrons! They serve breakfast all day, which I am super excited about. Anxious to come back to try it! But, we were there for burgers, so that’s what we got! Hubby got a patty-melt. He was super impressed by the bread; crispy with cheese melted perfectly on the inside & a little adhered to the outside. His burger was a tad overcooked, but tasty all the same. I got the«cheat day» burger; cooked perfectly… yum! We also split a side of ½ fries-½ onion rings; pretty good! To my envy, the kiddos had pancakes. OMG… delicious! One had a cinnamon roll pancake, & the other a Reese’s pancake. Then, my piglets(AKA children) split a HUGE slice of red velvet cate. I tasted a bite; really yummy! So, like I said, will be back to try breakfast. And likely to try some of the other entrees as well. Just remember to bring cash; no credit cards here. But they do have an ATM in case you forget. Nicely done, Laura’s!

I was pretty disappointed with this place considering all the good reviews it got. Came here with my boyfriend for breakfast on Sunday around 2. My first impression of this place was that is was dirty. I was surprised that there was food all over the floor. I know it was close to closing time(3 p.m.), but this was pretty bad. My boyfriend ordered coffee, and the mug wasn’t clean and had lipstick on the rim. I pointed it out to the waitress and she did get him another cup, but blamed the ‘color stay’ lipstick these days. When our food finally came, the portion sizes were decent. The food was just ok. Some of the scrambled eggs were a strange color. She also had served me a side of baked apples instead of homefries. When I asked her about this, she said that I had needed to *specify* that I had wanted homefries, otherwise they substitute the baked apples. She kindly offered me to order a side of homefries though(which I’m assuming I would be charged for). I reviewed the menu online afterwards, and this was a lie. Pasting what I ordered from the menu: #32 Eggs, Choice of Ham, Bacon or Sausage, Homefries and Toast So not really sure why I would have needed to specify that I wanted homefries and not baked apples from this? Overall, I was not impressed with this place at all. It gets 2 stars only because it was really cheap. The total was a little over $ 12 for both plates. But if you like a clean restaurant with much better food, I would suggest going to the English Muffin or Lighthouse in Johnston. ***** 5÷17÷16. Wanted to clarify my review after being reached out to via a response from the business owner ******** I appreciate the response on my review. It is unfortunate that I did not have a great experience here when it seems like many others do(from what I see from other reviews). While I recognize it is not the end of the world, I do not care to be told I am lying, and so just want to point out that I had never ordered baked apples with this meal. This was the first time I have been to this restaurant, and I did not even know it was an option. I am a little confused as to why the server is insisting on this. Additionally, I was not given a side of homefries. It was offered afterwards, but sounded like I was going to have to pay for the side, which I did not care to do. And I did inquire about this, to which I was told the baked apples are always substituted for homefries. I did not care to make a scene, so I chose to let it go. The server was very pleasant other than that. I just also wanted to mention in response to the business owner comments, that I was not trying to say that the price was wrong or that I was overcharged. I said it I though it was pretty cheap, which is why I gave an additional star, as being a positive thing. I would also like to thank the business owner for their time. It shows how much they care that they make an effort to respond to the people who write reviews on their diner.

Went there today for the first time because we had a RI Food Fights voucher for burgers. Burgers were very good and juicy. Steak fries were cooked just right. We also ordered a Caesar salad and the dressing was very fresh and light. We loved our waitress. She was very personable, in fact all the staff was friendly. Seems like a place where«regulars» go. Staff seemed to know the customers. Excited to go back and try other meals and breakfast, which we found out is served all day. Who knows, we might be regulars in no time.

The breakfast is really good here, 4 stars. I came here for a quick cheap dinner a few weeks ago and I was pretty disappointed. I ordered some delmonico steak with some eggs on the side. I admit poor judgment for ordering steak at a diner but that being said it was pretty bad. The cut of steak was pretty poor and overly fatty and gristled. To top it off, it came out completely raw and the eggs were even still clear! I am not one to waste anything so i sent it back and ate it once it was edible. Ill still give the place 3 stars because I assume most people consider this a breakfast spot and the breakfast is quite good and Ill chalk up the poor experience to it being just prior to the kitchen closing. Maybe someone had a long day. Bring cash, no credit.

One of the best diners in the state. I eat lunch and breakfast here as often as possible. All the food is great, the prices are crazy cheap and the staff is great. The fish and chips, cheeseburgers and chicken parm are always excellent.

It’s just a real homey place with great, fresh, inexpensive food. Try their clam chowder. It looks a little off putting since it’s very thick but it by far the most delicious chowder I’ve ever tasted. Fruit and waffles are amazing too!

Always fantastic. No matter what. Come here at least twice a week and always have great conversations with other regulars and the girls that work here. Rather come here and support a local family than any other restaurant in the local area. Love Laura and the PVD family!

It’s your typical neighborhood diner. I got the blueberry pancakes. They were good, but the syrup was not. I will pay extra for the good stuff, so if there was an option to upgrade to real maple syrup, that would make all the difference for me. What are pancakes without tasty real maple syrup? Also, the coffee was a little weak. Otherwise, cute place, good prices, and friendly service.

Our friends said that they have the best hash ever. So we went to try. It was so busy that we left. We did come back the following week at a different time that wasn’t so busy. We of course tried the hash. It had good flavor. However it is ground and not shredded which isn’t our cup of tea. Everything else was good. No complaints at all. Would go back to try other things on the menu if I’m passing by when it’s not busy.

This is a great breakfast spot! Their food is always delicious, in particular the homemade corned beef hash. I also like that they offer hot apples as a side. The service can be spotty, the last time we went we were made to feel a bit rushed, but I suppose that can happen with a busy breakfast place. I really enjoy the food though and will definitely be back.

I love breakfast just as much as the rest of Rhode Island does. The problem with that is the lines and waiting that must be endured in order to enjoy breakfast out. I’ve waited at Laura’s before and if I were to pick and choose where I would wait for breakfast, this wouldn’t be at the top of my list only because I’d rather wait at Nicks on Broadway which ultimately is the King of the breakfast world. Despite my feelings towards waiting to be seated for what seems like forever, I do live about 2 minutes from here and they do takeout! I have ordered breakfast takeout before and it’s still hot and fresh when I get home. I like to get the Not so Hungry Man as it has a little of everything but not too overwhelming. I’ve also gotten the potato and onion omelette with a side of baked apples. The baked apples add a few notches to this place as its not something seen in many places — and they are cinnamony and warm… yes, baked apples are my new favorite breakfast side. I have yet to try lunch or dinner here and I may never… breakfast is my absolute favorite meal and so far they do that right!

You can tell a great diner by the line to get in on a weekend morning. This place is legit as you’ll see a line for breakfast and lunch here. They also do some great diner sections as well. I really enjoyed their baked scallops on a recent visit here. I was surprised as they were as close to home cooked as I could get. If you’re in the mood for a good old fashion diner experience this place won’t disappoint.

I used to love going to Bz for breakfast but this place is so so much better! Great Prices and high quality food. I ordered the French toast which was impeccable, soft and a good serving for the under $ 5 price tag. The Jamaican Me crazy omelet was a much bigger serving than I expected so I couldn’t get through it but it was really good. And the bacon!.. thick&juicy with a good amount of meat, i hate dry bacon that is just a strip of crispy fat. Definitely going back here!, I go to Bryant so this definitely beats the dining hall on weekends!

Solid breakfast place. Although I have heard they typically have long waits, we were seated very quickly. Service was a bit slow, but once we had the attention of our waitress, things seemed to pick up. French toast was very good and a large portion. Coffee was hot, which is a big pet peeve of mine. We had a small child with us and she was treated warmly by staff and guests. We will be back!

A short and sweet review. Great breakfast choices, the corned beef hash is some of the best around. Their dinner is pretty awesome too! All of their food seems like it is made with fresh ingredients from scratch. Best of all the portions are huge and the prices are super reasonable. I think that pretty much covers it. Just an FYI they are cash only.

The only cons I can think of are that it’s cash only and there’s a bit of limited seating. However, after that it just sails away. Every employee smiled when I talked to them and spent their due time with me. The waitress knew everything that they did and did not have straight away which helped me a great deal in making my order. The food came out incredibly quickly(We’re talking 5 minutes) and I got a blueberry muffin which was cooked on the grill and tasted amazing. With that muffin I got 2 huge banana pancakes with whole slices of banana cooked into the pancake. Simply amazing. All incredibly cheap. A coke, the muffin and the two pancakes came out to $ 7.24. Absolutely stunned by the price. I would come here as much as I could and I recommend y’all to do the same.
