Becky’s Log Cabin Restaurant

The WORST experience I have EVER had in a restaurant. Went with a friend last weekend and were seated quickly but everything went downhill from there. Our waitress was underage and had to have someone else bring our beer… took 25 minutes to get our beverages. She did not know what salad dressings they had, so I agreed to just eat my dinner salad off the salad bar. As we were getting our salads, she approached me to say they did not have sweet potatoes (and she had previously told me they were out of baked potatoes and so sweet potato was a good choice). She told me they could cook me any vegetable but when I began naming vegetables, she did not have any of the basic vegetable choices; told her to just leave off the side. Got back to our table and finished our salad, still no beers. No water was never offered to us. One of the bus boys brought us our beer. Our silverware was flimsy (camping silverware?). Then I noticed a quarter-​sized spider climbing up the wall beside our table. It was circling the light sconce on the wall and about to come back down to the floor. I was trying to get someone’s attention, and finally got the bus boy back to show him the spider. He ran to the kitchen and came back with a towel but the spider had already fallen to the floor and was beneath our table. I was thinking… Brown Recluse? We moved to the next table (which was not far enough for me). About 15 minutes later, they brought us our food. Both choices were overcooked. His was a rib eye, medium, and mine was tuna. The lemon dill sauce on my tuna was awful and the meat was chewy and unfit by any means for human consumption. And they put baked potato on my plate (which was also overcooked). We got the manager to our table and she was apologetic and saying that this has never happened before, and that «it IS A LOG CABIN and is there is going to be SPIDERS.» We left upset and still hungry – and to add insult to injury – were charged $ 26 (2 beers and 2 salads). I did not have anything but lettuce, cucumber, tomato and black olives. I was very disappointed since I had not been there in 8 years and all the meals I had eaten there in the past had been excellent. This is new management and a different menu. We mentioned our disappointment to others in another restaurant, and a by-​stander had also had a bad experience with the food at Becky’s Log Cabin. I won’t return and feel for anyone who has to experience what we did.
