I had an oyster poboy there yesterday. The oysters were fried well and it was well dressed. The bread however was like rubber. A simple warming of the bread in an oven or griddle would have made the bread crispy and the poboy eatable.

Definitely the best quality seafood market in Slidell. Prices aren’t competitive(cause they know there quality surpasses other Slidell markets), but I can’t say it’s not worth it. Best flavor of boiled crawfish you can get in Slidell.

Awesome food and even better people. Thanks for a great meal. The place was very clean and was just recently remodeled and very nice inside.

Bought crawfish here last Friday to bring home without looking at the crawfish first. When I got home and opened the bag, they were filthy dirty, full of mud. Couldn’t have been purged. So disgusting nobody would eat them. And they were premium priced — over $ 1 more per pound than a couple of other places I passed on the way home. Never again.

Party of 4 shared a roast beef, catfish, and oyster poboys and a shrimp dinner with 2 sides. Breading was perfect, no heavy at all and not greasy. Definitely adding to our list to return! Also fresh seafood area with very reasonable prices.

We were referred to Kenney’s Seafood by our swamp tour guide. We were not disappointed. They have 2 lines in the restaurant, one is for ordering fresh seafood or boiled shrimp/crawfish and the other for fried seafood plates. We ordered 5 lbs of boiled crawfish, 2 lbs of boiled shrimp, fried shrimp plate which comes with 2 sides(i ordered jambalaya & corn/potatoes) and the fried soft shell crab plate w/lobster bisque/coleslaw for my husband. My kids and husband love crawfish and this place did not disappoint them. The boiled shrimp wasn’t too bad either. My fried shrimp plate was plentiful and I left feeling stuffed. My husband has always wanted to try soft shell crab and he too said it was good. Overall it was a great place with a great atmosphere.

My husband and I were debating on where to go for a great poboy and in the end we were definitely not happy we chose Kenney’s over Keith’s. My «softshell crab» poboy had a tiny and mushy crab that only fit half of my 6″ poboy and it was supposed to be dressed but it barely had anything on it and tons of mayo. Nothing like what I’ve seen in photos on here. I wish I would have noticed before we took it to go. My husband got the fried fish platter which was served with cold mushy fries. Big disappointment for $ 25. We won’t be going again. My one star is for the gumbo, it was the one thing that was delicious.

Here is where you get your fresh seafood in Slidell. And… when you’re not boiling bugs yourself, Kenney’s is the best boiled crawfish in Slidell as well. Their prices for crawfish is usually the best in town, and even if they aren’t, the live bugs they get always seem to be the best and biggest. You can call ahead and reserve as many sacks as you want and when you get there, you go in, pay for them and someone will meet you out back to load you up. Quick and easy peezy lemon squeezy. Their boiled crawfish are the best in Slidell as far as prices and taste goes. I’ve gotten a 10lb bag and you get goodies in there. I like how they put bellpeppers in their boil. They also have frozen«seafood» that you might not find too readily elsewhere like snapping turtle meat(for when I cook turtle soup!) and frozen squid. Now that stuff can be pretty pricey, but hey, where else are you gonna find that? They usually have quite a few people there waiting in line, but they get your in and out as soon as they can. They don’t mess around and satisfying customers appears to be their first priority. Apparently, they have prepared plates for lunch and stuff, but I’ve never tried that. I probably should…

2 parts to this review: Seafood store: great seafood! Crab meat was fresh, boiled shrimp was perfect. Oysters were fresh and tasty. Bought 2 packages of the stuffed crabs and put a pound of crabmeat in them. Phenomenal! This part gets 5 stars! Will be back. Arguably the best seafood store in Slidell. Eat In: Went back and ordered a half and half po-boy: half shrimp and half oyster. Bread was soft, not crisp! NOT Nola bread! Po boy was overstuffed, however, the quality of the seafood was not as good as what I bought in the store!!! Seriously! This part gets 3 stars. That being said, a lot of my friends in the area love the po-boys here. I just am used to better ones in New Orleans.

Great little place to get seafood. It’s mainly a seafood market but there are a few tables to get food to stay and eat. We got 12 blue crabs(that was the minimum order) and a couple pounds of crawfish already boiled up and ready to go. Oh and I got a shrimp po boy(minimal breading which I appreciate). The food was great! They closed at 6 and we stayed until 7 eating and they were so sweet to not rush us. Good prices too. Give it a try

This is my favorite place to get fresh seafood or great po-boys. Stopped in just last week to pick up shrimp for a pasta dish, and was happy as a clam with how huge my shrimp were. Bought 5 pounds and only picked out one little one in the bunch.

Everyone is entitled to there own opinion and this place did not hit home for me. This place was recommended by locals which is usually a good sign. There were a lot of locals here jamming out to their food so I know some must love this place. I came here with a friend and a kiddo and of course the kiddo thought this place was awesome! They had live crabs on a rack and large fish on ice and a giant fake fish hanging from the ceiling. As I am sure you can imagine when you walk in there is a strong fish/fishy smell. So needless to say I would prefer not to see or smell my food before it’s cooked :-O but that’s just me. Also don’t expect to sit down at a nice booth, they have a few tables available and bar style seating which a lot of the chairs were wobbling and the table was sticky. We ordered at the cash register and the lady seemed a little preoccupied(the place was busy). We got the hot sausage 6′ sub(they come in a small size and larger size), the fried crawfish sub, corn and crab bisque, jambalaya and fried shrimp with French fries. The hot sausage was a sausage patty folded up inside a sub which I had never seen before, it tasted ok, it had a nice spicy flavor to it. The sub bread was really good and tasted fresh. The fried crawfish sub was ok, decent flavor, nothing too special. The corn and crab bisque, again nothing special. Jambalaya was pitiful, not even hot, barely warm and no flavor. The fried shrimp and French fries were definitely my favorite! This would not be my first choice of places to go when I’m in New Orleans.

For the price and the flavor you cant beat this place. I came here twice within 4 hrs and I couldnt even check in with Unilocal! The cravings were that good. First round I had the fried combo of oysters and crawfish with boudain balls amd coleslaw. Now I had a slight disappointment as the center of my balls were cold and no one likes cold balls lol BUT a kind fellow patron offered me a crawfish. OmGeeee! I had to return to order some for myself for dinner! The flavor was all the way there perfectly seasoned and not too spicy and to top it all off I ordered 3lbs for under $ 10! Pure crawfish too not weighed down by corn and potatoes. And did I mention the size of those things?! They were all huge! A great evening feast. They even allow byob so I brought in the chill bottle of sauvignon blanc and decided to eat inside. Very good!

Kenney Seafood is the reason I bring a cooler with me on road trips to Louisiana. Before I get back on the highway for home, I make sure to stop in for groceries of the sea. Kenney’s has all of the Louisiana essentials: soft shell crabs, gumbo crabs, crabmeat, gulf shrimp, crawfish tails, redfish, and more. Their seafood is fresh, local and well-priced too.
On my last trip I bought enough to fill my Coleman. Then I drove around to the side of the building and an employee met me at the trunk of my car with my purchases. He proceeded to pack my cooler with seafood and ice and then taped the lid shut to create an airtight seal. Everything was still cold and in excellent condition when I made it home 6+ hours later. For high-quality seafood and top notch customer service look no further than Kenney Seafood!
