New manager, a complete fool. The place was very busy and there were a few girls helping customers and doing everything. The new manager was standing there watching from behind the counter with her arms crossed. Meanwhile everyone else was running around like crazy. A customer asked her if he could order a salad(I guess he saw a worker behind the counter not doing anything and thought she could take him). She said she doesn’t really make salads. Then she stopped one of the girls and asked her what she was doing. The poor girl looked at her like she was kiddjng. The manager asked her if she could make a salad. The girl told the manager she was doing way too much and would make it when she finished with the people she was helping. The manager then walked out from behind the counter, sat down and went on to her computer. How does a manager of a restaurant not know how to make a salad??? She seemed so lost and with a line of customers she was so flustered till she just walked out and sat down while everyone was running around like crazy. Very funny.

Stumbled in for a quick bite. It was first time having Kosher food. My calzone was delicious; the dough texture was just perfect. This place is quite a gem in the north side of Skokie which is sorely lacking in high quality non-chain restaurants.

Came here expecting it to be tolerable but nothing special. We decided to «splurge» and order the deep dish pie which we had to wait about 25 min. for because it was made fresh. Well, it was certainly worth the wait! The crust was delicious and soft and the pizza was super cheesy(in a good way) and delicious. We ordered fries to hold over the kids while we waited and those were delicious too. The people who work there were also super nice and helpful and, another plus if it applies to you, they’re nut free(I would double check to be sure). If you keep kosher and are in the Chicago area and want good pizza, and great authentic«Chicago» deep dish, definitely check this place out.

Great pizza… all of the topics were fresh and pizza was made fees as well. They add extra cheese, which makes it really good. Will definitely be back for more.

Delicious food and fast service. I especially love their butternut squash soup. It is so tasty and delicious. I also love the salad bar. Great price and you can get as many toppings as you want which they have a lot to choose from.

Wow this pizza was delicious and worth the price. I got a medium size for $ 17 I think but it was great. Fresh. Also they have a salad bar there and other stuff. I haven’t tried the other food yet but I will definitely be back there.

I drive here from Naperville, where it is very very hard to keep kosher. I was quite pleased with my pizza. And YAY salad bar! They lose a star because of the atmosphere. Our table needed cleaning and the way the tables were arranged was kind of strange to me. I felt like we were practically on top of the people at the table behind us. And no, if you are looking to mix meat and dairy, this is not the place you’d enjoy. Making rude comments about people who keep kosher just makes you look like a jerk.

Great pizza! Of the few kosher pizza places in town this is the best by far. Very east coast style. Large menu and I have enjoyed everything I’ve tried so far. Great sauce(has a great flavor), and the crust is perfect. Owner is very nice and pleasant. My new favorite kosher pizza place in chicago

Not a great place to go when you want sausage on your pizza. Guess I don’t know enough about kosher dining. No cheese at the tables. Pizza fail. At least they had the red pepper flakes and oregano. Pizza was decent. Won’t rush to go back. Portillos was my first choice, but parking was insane.

Great Salad Bar. You get all the toppings you want on your salad(and there are a ton to choose from) without any additional charge. Overall a great price especially for being kosher. The pizza is delicious as well.

Ordered a 14 inch pizza with peppers and mushrooms on Super Bowl Sunday at 7:45 pm, alomg with a tuma melt sandwich and fries. When I returned home, there were no fries. Pizza was terrible, besides being skimpy. Main Street and Tel Aviv produce much better pizzas. Tuna melt sandwich was worse. Skimpy and tasteless. Stuart G

This place has a PHENOMENAL salad bar! Three ifferent lettuces to choose from, 25+ toppings offered, and 15+ salad dressings available. The pizza is okay, but i’ve only tried it twice. I am not a Kosher-keeping folk.

Just tried a single slice of pizza at the restaurant… veg a bit crispy, I’m glad to have had some extra vitamins but it needs to be cooked a tad bit more. Maybe slice the peppers and onions thinner so they cook? Still, it’s good pizza.

Not sure if some of these reviewers have a right to rate a restaurant based on their«Cheeseless Whole Wheat Pizza». Screw you ma’am, rate your diet. If you go for good pizza, thats what you’ll find. This is my favorite pizza in Chicago and their Cheese Fries are incredible. My wife and her friends rave about the Salad bar, so I suppose thats good as well.

I live downtown and keep a kosher home. I had a gathering at my house this past Saturday night and wanted to serve pizza. I went up to Skokie on Friday afternoon and ordered 7 pizza’s to go. The next evening, they were warmed to perfection and served with salad. My guest loved the pizza and most were really surprised that the pies were kosher AND from Skokie (no offense to you Skokie peeps). Also, the staff was really helpful and very nice … despite the fact that I wasn’t wearing a yamulke. This place would give any non kosher pizza place a run for their money!

I hope EJ’s is here to stay!!! I have been there twice and both times I have really enjoyed my eggplant pizza. They have salads, falafel, tilapia, cheesesticks, lasagna and other goodies. I admit– I have only had the pizza, but it was great. I am happy to give business to any kosher eatery in the Chicago area that has great food at reasonable prices.

I went on Sunday for an early dinner. We ordered pizza and soup. The slices of cheese pizza were pretty good and I would definetly go back for more. I was glad to see they gave us slices off the fresh pie, and not the old dried-out looking one below, without even asking! I’m sorry to say the butternut squash soup was not good at all. After we tasted it, it simply went uneaten. It tasted like some weird, very sweet, thick chicken soup. The other major problem was at the register. I realise they have only been open a short time but the register was a backed-up mess. We stood waiting to pay for a long time. Our dinner was sitting on the table, going cool while we waited some more. Finally, we just sat down to eat and paid before we left. By that time, the soup was on the cool side of room temperature and the pizza was on the warmish side. I am not a fan of food being reheated in a microwave so we decided against anything they had in the trays behind the glass. I will go back, like I said, for more pizza. It’s really good! I really would like to give a higher rating than 2 stars, but 3 means A-ok…and it just wasn’t.

Went in and had a slice and a bowl of French Onion Soup — the pizza is some of the best kosher pizza in Chicago — I will have to go back to make sure they do not fall into the chicago kosher pizza curse of inconsistency — but first time out of the box excellent rivaling non-kosher pizza. The french onion soup — I was expecting baked with a nice crust of cheese — but to my disappointment I was presented with a bowl of soup and a side of croutons and cheese — but once I put it all together it too was excellent — will definitely be going back even though they some opening day issues slow service and not all of the menu items were available like the calzone —
