We were sent to Benny’s for their falafel. So delicious in their Gyros. Reasonably priced and the Gyros come with fries or a side salad– great lunch spot.

OH… MY… DELICIOUSNESS! Love me some Benny’s! Not only is the food delicious, but delivery is fast and the staff is a tight-knit family who is always welcoming and helpful, whether I’m eating in or picking up some dinner. I personally would recommend the following: Garden salad with ranch dressing Cheese calzone(as an unashamed cheese lover, this is my favorite!) Grilled cheese and fries It’s nothing fancy or out of the ordinary, but I would argue it’s even more impressive that they can make even a regular sandwich or calzone so damn yummy!

This was a first time visit for lunch. As my wife and I were driving north up Rte 10 we happened upon Benny’s. Looked like a pretty good place so we decided to give it a try. Wife ordered a Benny’s burger(mushrooms, sautéed onions and Swiss cheese) with a side of sweet potato fries. For me I ordered a couple of my standard favs. Fried calamari and a half eggplant grinder. The calamari was lightly breaded, cooked just right and I was given plenty of marinara sauce. It was good but the plate I received only had the rings. None of the«good» pieces. So that was very disappointing. Next was a bite of my wife’s burger and sweet potato fries. The burger was very good. A nice portion and cooked as my wife requested. She liked it too and she finished the whole thing. Unfortunately the sweet potatoes fries were disappointing. Very limp and greasy. Blah tasting for sure. Only a few were eaten. My eggplant sandwich was just ok. I probably would have liked it better but it had a few hard/chewy areas. Now sometimes that happens with eggplant but a savy chef can see these areas and cut them out. Anyway, the sauce, cheese and toasted bread was good. Oh well. So a(3) star rating is appropriate. Not bad but at the same time not good either(figure that out). A few improvements and a(4) could have been given. The place looked clean and service was prompt. Price was average when compared to similar establishments. Also, the place did have other customers so maybe our fries and eggplant was an anomaly. We will give it another try one of these days as the breakfast offerings sounded interesting.

The omelette was good– not anything crazy but good. The coffee was excellent though. great little spot to have an egg sandwich or two.

I am very comfortable with 5 stars. This place is super convenient right off rt 10. It was clean and totally handicap accessible. We were kindly greeted, sat immediately and coffee was poured within minutes. It was about 11 am so we were in the middle of breakfast and lunch but fortunately breakfast is served into the afternoon hours. Ordered the meat lover omelette. It was just the right size, had all the meet I could ask for and option of home fries of shredded. — shredded was my angle. Wife had the Benedict and she was super happy. Sauce was legit and nice size English muffins. Waitress was super nice, stayed on our coffees the whole time and she was very respectful to a couple where the husband was in wheelchair. I like the vibe here and will return.

My boyfriend and I meet up here for lunch once and awhile… I really like the casual atmosphere and the food has always been delicious! There menu has a good variety to choose from and they’ve always had good lunch specials. The only(potential) downside is there isn’t a lot of space if you have a bigger group, but it’s great for a casual meet-up!

Stopped in for an Italian Grinder, bread was fresh and grinder was good, But very little meat and more shaved lettuce than you can imagine. I ate half the grinder and then dumped out the rest of the lettuce from the second half(and it was a huge pile). Next time I go I think I will try a gyro rather than a grinder.

Meh… Had the felafel. Tasted like a pizza restaurant trying to do Mediterranean. Lack of seasoning and mounds of lettuce and tomato. I’ll have to try their breakfast which looks more promising.

BYOB available. Gyros are great. But the rest of the dinner menu is indistinct. We tried the ravioli. It was drenched in sauce and served in a casserole. Tasted very institutional. Service can be spotty but is always friendly. Benny’s serves a nice diner niche for the town but could benefit by improving food quality.

Very average diner place with the option of gyro. The gyro is great but breakfast service at this place is very slow.

Good, family friendly lunch spot. Had my kids here yesterday and they loved their meals. Good burgers, salads, and a comfortable place. It was busy, so service was a little slow, but overall a good, inexpensive lunch spot.

We LOVE Benny’s. It’s our go-to spot for good, wallet-friendly breakfast food, and we also get take-out dinner 1 – 2 times a week on those days when our schedules are too overwhelming for cooking. Glad it’s in the neighborhood!

Ate here for breakfast, food was awesome! I got a vegetarian omelet with no cheese(forgot my lactose pill) and it did not disappoint! The omelets are huge too so bring an appetite if you decide to go this route. The late was also darn good, one cream on sugar.

Overall a good experience. Small family owned restaurant that serves average diner type of breakfast. Pancakes are huge.

So while I would love for this place to be a winner in Simsbury and indeed have had pretty good meals there in the past(decent food, ok prices, good service, etc.), I do need to share a concern. Long story short, I included a tip on my credit card receipt. When the charge hit my credit card statement, the amount was higher. Why? It appears that the waitress gave herself a premium(to what was already a good tip) in the tip line. I took my original receipt and the credit card statement in to talk to the owner. It is here where my disappointment lies. While she said thank you for bringing it in, there was very little expressed frustration with the matter(what is in essence credit card fraud… and illegal) and she lamely handed me the difference in cash. If this was me and I, as owner, had clear evidence that my people were defrauding my customers, I’d be overwhelmed with embarrassment and disappointment and I would go out of my way to show my customer my regret(«can I have you join us for lunch another time on me as way to show my gratitude and apologies for this inconvenience?»). I wouldn’t hand over a couple of shekles, call it a day and move on to other things. The owner’s reaction in this case was really disappointing. If you go to Benny’s, watch your wallet.

Benny is a great guy and he delivers — no seriously he shows up up at your house with great food, hot and tasty. A great varied menu including Gyros, Greek Salads and shish-kabob! Great spot for breakfast as well.

Stopped in for a quick breakfast before heading back home. We were greeted by Benny himself who made us feel warm and welcomed. Service was prompt, restaurant was clean and not too noisy, and food was delicious. What a great neighborhood eatery, we wish every town had a Benny’s! We’ll be back the next time we’re in Simsbury. Thanks Benny!

1.) Introduction: I was at my dentist which was across the street from this place, so I figured«what the heck» let’s try this place. It looked nice from the outside. 2.) What you may see: It looked pretty clean in the dining area. The kitchen was questionable. A little dirty to me. There is a flat screen television in the restaurant. 3.) Food: I ordered the lamb and beef gyro with well done fries. They do not put salt in their fries, which was great, because I don’t need the added salt in my food. I thought the gyro was generally good, a little tough to chew on some parts, but it was enjoyable. The fries were cooked the way I wanted them — brown and crispy. The prices were pretty reasonable. $ 8.95 for sandwhiches, cold and hot. 4.) Service: The staff here were all nice. I believe this was an old Italian couple who runs this place. I remember them speaking to each other in Italian. The waitress and and woman who rang up my order were both very nice. Now does flirtation by staff count as «great» service? Because the waitress I talked to was definitely about that. Which was a good, because during that, she was talking about the menu as well. Apparently the burgers are good here. I may have to try that next time. 5.) Impressions: I’ll come back here to try some other stuff when I’m in the area.

The Good Things Food was very good and pricing was very reasonable. We ordered one«traditional breakfast» of 2 eggs, bacon-ham-or sausage, toast, homefries and coffee for $ 7.95. We also ordered an egg white(a buck extra) vegetarian omelette with toast and choice of corned beef hash or shredded potatoes for $ 7.95 plus the egg white surcharge. I went for the corned beef hash– you NEVER see that offered as a straight up swap for breakfast potatoes. It was a small portion but was pretty good tasting. The Bad Things 1– It’s small and crowded(Just ten tables and 3 counter stools) 2– The servers do everything– wait on tables, bus and wipe down tables, handle take-out, and ring up at the cash register. There is no hostess. So, you may wait a while for that extra cup of coffee. 3– Service was spotty(no surprise considering how they mult-task). I asked for dry rye toast, it came as buttered wheat toast. As soon as she put it down she said–«oh wait, you wanted it dry, I’ll get it» but it never arrived. After ten minutes I asked her to «check on it” — she apologized and said she forgot to put in the order. 4– Our table was right by the door, and on this chilly Autumn morning, whenever a customer entered or exited we got a little jolt of cool air. So what’s that gonna be like in January or February? Overall 4 stars for food and value, 2 stars for service and ambience –average is a solid 3 stars. I can see going there again, but definitely not for a long lingering breakfast, cause unseated customers will be hovering over your shoulder glaring at your coveted table…

Ok. Awesome food for breakfast or lunch. Veggie egg white omelet is delicious and my favorite omelet so far. I’d give them 5 stars, honestly, if they didn’t add cheese time and again after I specifically request no cheese. Normally, this isn’t a big problem, but I’m lactose intolerant and extremely affected by the addition of cheese, so it ruins my breakfast when I have to return or not eat the omelet I was excited about. Disappointing when restaurants decide to add an ingredient that you don’t want. I’m making it easier for you, don’t add it!
