Went there the other night food was not very fresh tasting. House made chips had a bitter taste to them. The salsa bar was awesome and refillable horchata is something you never see. The staff was very very friendly.

REALAUTHENTICMEXICAN! ! This was our first time in greenville so of course we went to Unilocal for advise and I’m so happy we did. This place was packed around lunch time and I can understand why! The food was delicious from the quesadillas to the gigantic burrito to the burrito bowl! The churros were perfect and warm!

EXCELLENT Mexican. Authentic tasty food. the tacos al pastor were bliss. The salsas were clearly homemade and complimented the meal nicely.

This was my first time at Bertos, and I got the chile relleno burrito. The chips that came with the meal were super crunchy, and the chille relleno was good. I’ll ask them to hold the lettuce next time, as about half the burrito ended up being lettuce. This was as close to authentic Mexican as I’ve had in the South; I’ll go back.

Very good and large orders. Being from San Antonio TX this is pretty good. The service is very fast and nice helpful staff. The meals come with free chips and bean dip. I will definitely be back to try other menu items.

New to the town so I always like to try local stuff. I love Mexican, and this did not disappoint. It’s much more authentic, so you’re not getting a chipotle or qdoba here. I had the carnitas burrito. Very good. Very big and came with a nice bean dip and free hot sauce/salsa bar. Will def come back to try other items.

Decent food very friendly staff and awesome atmosphere. I came here for lunch with a co worker. I got the fajitas. Large portion and well cooked just lacked flavor and tasted bland.

Hands down the best Mission-burritos in Greenville, hell this beats San Francisco’s own El Farolito, aka home of «Life-Changing Burrito» by Esquire. Do yourself a favor and come here for your Mexican food cravings. It’ll do your soul some good.

Stars don’t lie… this place is great! We witnessed fresh produce being carried through the door, and you can taste that quality in the food. The steak burrito was amazing, not to mention, it was the size of a small child.

My first time here and I was really impressed. First off the food is amazing. Prices to match. I ordered the steak burrito and spilt it with my wife. Including the bean dip they gave us and salsa bar, we were stuffed! Their burritos were huge and sooooo tasty! I would definitely return.

Quaint cozy place. Very good food. Met a friend here for lunch. Home made sauces and the food is made from scratch and love for their food. Trying all the restaurants in the area. This one will have us all coming back.

Best Mexican I’ve had on the east coast. I grew up in Los Angeles and have lived in Northern Virginia for the past 10 years. I’ve had Mexican food all over the DC area and have not found anything that satisfies. Last weekend I traveled to visit a friend in South Carolina(who also grew up in LA) and asked if there was any passable Mexican food around. She suggested Uncle Berto’s. It was delicious. Exactly the kind of Mexican food and atmosphere I’d been craving. It’s counter service so it’s not a hoity toity place like a lot of the Mexican places near DC. And the food is good. Really good. LA good. I had the chile relleno, the hubs had the carne asada, and my friend had the carnitas quesadilla. It was all delicious. While you wait, they give you chips and bean dip and the dip(which is essentially just refried beans and cheese) is delicious. It’s so hard to find good refried beans! Anyway, super yummy. I can guarantee that every time I’m back in the Simpsonville area, I will be visiting Uncle Berto’s!

Hands down best Mexican I’ve had. It’s authentic, fresh, and real Mexican food. This place is the real deal and is totally worth trying. To start out, their chips are gluten free and made fresh to order. The chips come with a delicious, cheesy bean dip. I also love their salsa bar that has a variety of freshly made authentic salsas. You should definitely consider getting an order(or two!) of their delicious chips. For the main dish I got a burrito with pastor(a succulent and delicious seasoned pork) and mexi vegetables(a delicious blend of zucchini, onions, and more). It is by far the best and most authentic burrito I’ve had yet. So to sum it up… You should really should just try this place out.

Best Mexican food in Greenville. As a native Southern Californian, I take my Mexican food seriously and sadly, Greenville doesn’t really have any decent options. So I was delighted to stumble across Uncle Berto’s. The food here is authentic and extremely good. One of the key differentiators are the salsa options, all of which are homemade. There’s about 8 or so different salsa options that span the range of options with respect to heat, verde/rojo/molcajete, etc. The fact that the chips are homemade as well is nice. I’ve sampled several of the taco options and a couple of the tortas and they’ve all been good. This place is absolutely worth the 15 minute drive to get there. It’s hands-down the best in Greenville.

It’s my humble opinion that this is the best Mexican restaurant in the Greenville area. The food is not pretentious but instead awesome and authentic. The owners/operators are some of the nicest people you could ever meet. The décor is warm and welcoming and it’s always packed with locals that you’d more likely consider«regulars». The meats«a la mexicana» is mouthwatering and the tortas are so delicious, you’ll dream about them when you’re sleeping. They do have a great«kids eat free» policy that some people have a tendency of abusing. Honestly a great local haunt.
