If you ever wanted to know what it was like to dine in a nightmare crossed with a prison cafeteria, Sea Horse Buffet was as close as you could get on Earth. The lights above your table flickered(or didn’t work!), the heat was cranked high during California mild autumns, and simply walking in the bathroom made you feel like you needed a hazmat shower. How did food get underdone AND burned at the same time? Why were employees wheeling a supply cart through the dining area during peak hours? Why were employees yelling from the dining floor to the kitchen area at full volume? I don’t even need to tell you how the food was. But I’ll tell you that if you needed a good gastro-intestinal reboot, Sea Horse was great. This was a great restaurant to stage a murder mystery with friends, except that it would be all of your buttholes that would be murdered by Sea Horse Buffet. Hopefully, Simi gets another Chinese buffet soon, but ideally the management will model it after a better place.

If I could give this place a big fat failing zero I would. THEMOSTDISGUSTING… DIIISSGUSTING, LOWQUALITYGARBAGE! I came home and not only had diarrhea but threw up as well. I’m drinking hot tea now to trying to help it digest after taking a Nexium out of pure desperation. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING was OLD and STALE! Extremely tiny shrimp that haven’t even been de-veined! The popcorn shrimp had this batter that was like a rock. The ceasar Salad was flavorless and wilted, the«sushi» was California rolls made in 3 different ways. All the meats were old. Even the corn on the Cobb was old. Omg, I’ve never in my life went to such a disgusting, low quality, poorly executed eating establishment! All the ppl in the kitchen were standing outside the kitchen looking like heroin addicts staring at the customers and didn’t speak a word of English to help explain what the old looking meat that had no sign was. Funny thing is… I should have known it was sucky and walked out from the moment I walked in and saw how huge the place was and how there was only 3 tables of ppl total… and what the food looked like .I should have ran out then. It was dinner time and I hadn’t ate all day so I was desperate… NEVEREVERRRAGAIN. that place needs to be shut down!

This place needs a serious overhaul! Although they attempt to make the food plentyful and good, The ambience is disgusting. The seats are gross, the tables are old. There are dirty buckets and brooms and washcloths within sight of the patrons. And God forbid you want to go use the bathroom which is so filthy, disgusting and gross that if you visit the bathroom after you eat, you honestly feel like you want to puke. I’m not exaggerating on the way I feel. Not going back

Was there 8⁄16 for lunch. Ended up in the ER by 9pm with stomach pains. Husband went to his dr on Tuesday also with stomach pains. My father who was with us as well has stomach pains. Dr results for my husband and I were gastro infection. Luckily, my kids only eat fruit there otherwise they probably would have also ended up sick. Reviewed there inspections on , should have read this before going there. Please beware specially if you have kids.

Went there for Father’s Day showed up with a group of 11 they said he could seat us but never told us it would be 3 different tables.(Who wants that when they show up with family) we were never given any refills. Terrible service, cold food, & rude managers. Showed no effort in making customers happy, we were going to leave zero tip but to our surprise they charge you a service fee in your bill. HIGHLY disappointed because they didn’t deserve it. Just terrible. We split checks & just for my mother and I 41 $ that was just absurd!

Food was bland for the items I have tasted. Sushi bar… rice was hard and dry. Mongolian bar was subpar. Fruit bar was great as was the waiter. The dessert pastries bar was uhhhhhh, not yummy. Restrooms were filthy. Despite the signs posted, kids were still dipping their fingers in the chocolate fountain. Some had their parents right in front of them. Low class people.

Pros: — Lots of variety, there was even sushi Cons: — Almost everything was pretty bland Went with the wife during lunch and it was only around $ 9 each for AYCE buffet so you can’t be expecting a whole lot. Giving it 3 stars since it’s worth the price we paid but not much more.

The crab legs were really good today. However I have to give this place only 2 stars because the dining rooms and restrooms are in serious need of cleaning. And when I asked for more soda the waiter came over with a pitcher and pored the fresh soda on top of the watered down soda that was left in the bottom part of the cup. In addition to that they didn’t even have strawberries for the chocolate fountain, it’s May, strawberry season and we are just up the road from Oxnard, there is no excuse for that.

10 out of 10 would party again. Quality over quantity. Peace serenity and perseverance everywhere inside this restaurant.

You might want to proceed with caution! The Ventura County Health restaurant Inspection Reports Web site for this restaurant is listed below. Inspections go back 3 years and in that length of time there seems to have been absolutely no effort to improve building condition, toilet cleanliness, food handling, food storage, food temperature, sanitation, infestation, and filth.

The food is decent here. I go mostly for the crab legs. This place could use rennovation. Their booth seats are uncomfortable and sometimes there is an unpleasant odor in the eating area, most likely from the carpets. The staff is friendly which makes it a bit more enjoyable.

This place is your typical Asian buffet. Pretty dated in appearance, not in a great part of town, but it definitely gets the job done. The crab legs are pretty good and the overall selection is pretty relative to the cost, which I believe is $ 12.95 for dinner and a couple dollars less for lunch? Can’t remember, exactly.(And you can even find coupons for 20% off your total bill every so often. But only by mail, not online. In fact, I’m not sure they even have a website.) Will be back. :)

You can’t really get mad at this place. Dinner is $ 11 – 12 per person. And it’s a BUFFET. Yes, the food quality MAY be not what you expect(but what were you really expecting? four star gourmet steakhouse items?). They offer your variety of «Asian» cuisine items with lots of American fusion taste. They also have a Hibachi grill which is pretty cool for such a cheap buffet place. Their dessert items were the worst things here I think. They looked super stale and not fresh at all. Their seafood items such as crab legs and shrimps were cooked well. Parking is abundant and service is nice.

My family and I came here a couple days ago and had a really bad experience. The food looked like it had been sitting there for a few hours as we started to eat. The wait staff was very rude and never refilled our drinks and the dishes were still dirty and not very clean. We also went at a convenient time around 6 p.m. and you would think it would be packed but no it was not, it wasn’t even 10% full. I would never recommend this place to any of my friends.

Standard Asian buffet but with the appreciated addition of a Mongolian grill station. I like being able to choose the ingredients & seasonings(mmmm…garlic!). I didn’t indulge, but my relatives were all coming back to our tables with goodies from the DIY chocolate fountain and scoop-your-own ice cream stations. Another plus. Tips– Good for groups. We were there for a memorial luncheon and the entire group had its own section with two assigned servers. Grill strategy. Hit this station up first. Choose your items, hand the plate to the guy doing the grilling and then go to the other stations while your food is being grilled. Your plate should be done in 5 – 10 minutes depending on how busy they are. I always pick up a plate of(just) meat to share with others at the table. The hubby(the Buffet King) went home happy!

Typical cheap asian buffet with either disgusting or sub-par items. Most items at the bar were warm/cool and not hot! I had a hot green tea and it was barely warm when i took my first sip! Go for it dishes: — Filet mignon sauteed with onions — Buttered potatoes — Cold spicy octopus Don’t do it dishes: — Flan. Even the boxed make-at-home flans tasted better. — Salmon … bleh — Most of the chicken dishes To make the trip a LITTLE better, there was an 8 flavored ice cream bar. YumO!(+1 star). The only meal i enjoyed mmhmm. Would not make my way back here. 3 family members ended up getting diarrhea an hour after eating here.
