This restaurant is near my house. It is in an unassuming strip mall next to a SunTrust Bank. The food here is quite tasty! I usually get carry out but I notice many diners when I get there. I’ve eaten in the restaurant once and it was quite comfortable and cozy. The manager and staff are always friendly and go the extra mile to make sure you have a pleasant experience. They have a vegetarian phở broth in case you don’t consume meat. It tastes just as good as the meat version. STORY: I got there and picked up my meal. When I got home it was too spicy. I called them and said that usually they make it perfectly but it was too spicy this time. The manager said«I’ll bring you another one in 10 minutes.» I started to give him my address and he said«I know where you live.» He remembered where I lived! That’s good customer service!

We always go for the phở when in Silver Spring. Great taste, wonderful portion sizes, and overall good value. Previous comments about tastelessness seem strange to me, since all the fixins are brought along for you to make your phở taste the way you prefer. YUM!

This place wasn’t horrifying, but it the phở was aggressively bland. The spring rolls were alright; and my fiancé enjoyed the grilled meat, but they were a little fattier than she would have liked and found the bun a bit bland as well, but not as bland as the phở broth. Honestly we wouldn’t have come to this place if Jewel of India wasn’t packed when we went.

I stopped in last night for the Chicken Phở and it was absolutely delicious. I got the medium size which was perfect for one person. Lots of chicken and the broth was excellent. Also, all of the servers are very nice and are extremely attentive. My server was a young caucasian man and he was excellent. I highly recommend and will be back for sure.

After giving a FOURSTAR review this past October, I’ve got to DOWNGRADE Viet Phở, for this reason: Their menu that appears online, is WRONG! don’t use it! What I got INSTEAD of the«Sliced Eye Of Round Steak» was«Vietnamese Meatballs»(see photo) THANKGOD I work literally around the corner from this place. But when I went back, and explained I had the wrong item, the cashier looked at it and said, «No, that’s C2, Vietnamese Meatballs». I told her I «ordered» Sliced Eye Of Round Steak, she said, «No you didn’t» … REALLY? I then proceeded to pull up the restaurant’s web site on my iPhone, and showed her that on THAT menu, C2 was«Sliced Eye Of Round Steak». she just looked at me and said, «so you don’t want the meatballs?» NO, I didn’t ORDERTHEM! Not very hospitable. Not«hateful» either, but when someone makes the effort to return and item, AND let you know that your website has the WRONGMENU, I’d like to see a little more mea culpa, mea culpa”.

Did I expect to have some of the most delicious Vietnamese food I’ve ever tasted(I’ve traveled a lot)…no I did not. This was sensational. The place is quiet and has a nice modern touch with just the right lighting scheme. The coconut water is actually the real deal with pieces of actual coconut inside. Yum. I ordered the vegetarian plates — Jalapeño Xao and the veggie clay pot. The texture was perfect. No vegetables were under or over cooked. There was still a crunch to them and they were alive. The spice was just right. I like spicy. And the amount of food was perfect. We ended up sharing the two dishes we ordered and it was more than enough for the two of us. I highly suggest this place. It’s great for families, great for a date, great for a business meeting. My new habit. I go to Salon Efx next door for a haircut then pop over for some great food!

Good taro bubble tea. Good spring and egg rolls. Pretty interiors. Decently okay service. Omg but I really don’t like the Halloween decorations. I find it personally distasteful looking at a faux corpse before eating. I really don’t suggest it and I think it detracts from the class of the establishment. Otherwise, the reviews seem pretty accurate.

Food looked great. But I just walked in here for the Bubble tea which was extremely HORRIBLE. The tea was from the powder — well it tasted as such. I threw my tea away… and I was actually kinda upset about that… CUS I NEVER throw bubble tea out. lol I will go back here to try the food.

One of my favorite things about this restaurant is the interior space. It’s quaint and cozy, and has a very mellow vibe to it. My other favorite things about this restaurant include: 1. Bun Bo Hue 2. Taro bubble tea 3. Warm and friendly service We’ve also tried several other dishes and not a single one has disappointed. Great, authentic Vietnamese fare!

Having lived in nearby two year, I went to Viet Phở quite often and found the quality and consistency of their good to be very good! As many people tend to be fixated with the phở bowls –which are delicious! I would recommend trying other things that are equally delicious. Such as the hot pots(my favorite), or the pork chop dishes. Can’t wait to head back to Maryland and try this place again.

This was the first time I’ve been to a Vietnamese restaurant and I have to say I was pretty impressed. It was lunch and a friend had invited me for a bite to eat so I felt a little adventurous. Why the heck not? It’s in the Hillandale shopping center which is an eclectic mix of businesses and stores. This restaurant, for instance, is next to a real estate office. Go figure. Anyway. It ‘s clean and tidy with plenty of room to spread out and enjoy a good meal. The appetizers were very tasty(and attractively presented) and the entrée was excellent. Top all this off with attentive and efficient staff and it makes for a great experience. I’ll definitely check it out, again, to try out some different dishes. The one I had was great. My friend warned me that some of the sauces might be hot but I thought they were fine. Go. If you like Vietnamese food. This is a great place(I actually saw some people who looked like Vietnamese eating there!). If you’ve never had Vietnamese food, this is a great place to try it out!

Amazing customer service. Very friendly. The food came quite fast. They made it nice and spicy, as requested, and still managed to be really spicy. Which was impressive as you don’t get that often in Asian restaurants. Ambience is not bad, place is a little small. Had ordered — Shrimp spring rolls, Sweet basil tofu, sweet basil seafood combo and mango sticky rice for dessert. Will return.

«Phở stars»… get it. Across the street from where i work, and its much better Phở than the ones i have tried in New York! The summer rolls and the peanut sauce paired very well together. The shrimp in the rolls were fresh and and vegetables gave it a good crunch. The phở broth is the star here though! It tastes great and is full of flavor and basically what sets each phở place apart. The rice noodles were also great and the meats/tendons which accompanied the dish were all great. Definitely give this place a try! will probably be coming back soon.

I visited Viet Phở & Grill during lunch recently and I had a pretty enjoyable experience. There’s plenty of parking out front(or anywhere in the Hillandale Shopping Center area). The restaurant is casual and there is plenty of seating inside. Service was friendly and efficient and I really like that they are open at 10am for lunch(for those of us who like to have an early lunch). What I also really liked about this place was the fact that they have 3 size options for phở — small, medium, large. Usually there is usually a Small or Large option. I usually opt for the Large option, which is quite filling. But this time, I had the option to go with the Medium, which was a perfect portion. As for the food itself, I ordered the Phở Ga(chicken phở) and though it was tasty, it wasn’t the best phở I’ve ever had. The chicken portion wasn’t too generous and half of my soup seemed to be bean sprouts and basil. Overall, not bad. But I would still like to have more chicken with my soup. But for the price, it’s definitely worth it — less than $ 10 overall for my meal(including tax and tip). That’s how phở should be and often is not in the DC area(where many places charge you $ 13+ for just a bowl of phở). I will likely visit Viet Phở & Grill again because it’s so convenient and the soup was tasty and perfect for this currently cold wintery weather.

i met a friend for lunch on a weekday and we were happy to be seated immediately even though it was about 12:15, prime lunch hour. i ordered the lemongrass stir-fry with chicken($ 9.95) and requested brown instead of white rice, but was told that they did not have any brown rice. oh well. i also requested no spice on my dish, not«mildly spicy» not«little spicy» but«NOSPICE» which means absolutely nothing in the dish that will burn in my mouth. service was pretty quick as our orders were taken, and food brought out in a matter of minutes. i noticed that my dish had some red flakes on it, and wondered if it’d be spicy, but thought i’d try it anyway… maybe it was some other flavouring or seasoning that wasn’t spicy. the first few bites were ok, but after a few minutes, my mouth started to burn, and i realized that maybe these flakes were spicy red pepper flakes? i asked my friend to try some and give me her opinion, and she agreed, this dish was pretty spicy, at least a medium-hot spicy, in her opinion. i flagged down my waiter and asked him if he made my dish spicy after i specifically requested«not spicy» and he claimed to have written down«not spicy» but apparently the cook put the red pepper flakes on the chicken. furthermore, he pointed out that i’d already eaten most of the dish(implying that he wouldn’t bring me a replacement), which i agreed with, and let him know that i wasn’t looking for a newly cooked dish, and intended to pay for the meal, but i just wanted to know what happened to my supposedly non-spicy chicken dish. fortunately, my water was refilled at least once(maybe twice, i can’t remember), so i gulped down a lot of water to diffuse the spiciness in my mouth(i really am a spice wimp, can’t take even a little spiciness in my dish!) even though my dish was spicy, the actual chicken was good, and i felt i received a nice lunch-sized portion for $ 10.

Reminder to self: do not come here again. I’m currently sitting at the booth and really upset about my situation. We haven’t been for a while because there was like an eye lash in my summer roll the last time. This time… A flipping gnat in my bf soup. The sign says they open at ten. We came at ten thirty and the employees look like they don’t want to be here… Nothing is set up… They don’t even look like they wanted to be there… And this is thirty mins after opening. Strike one. Second… Food just was not good. Summer rolls were extremely chewy. Not in a good way. Bf and I got phở. The brother literally tasted like hot nothing. There was no flavor in it. Sucked. No herbs to help out either. I got a medium and there wasn’t much noodles… Or meat. Just suuuucked. And lastly, there was a gnat in my bf soup. Never again. I’m not one to ever skip out in a bill but I wanted to just walk out. Not like they were being attentive anyway. Awful start to the weekend. Do not come here unless you want bugs in your food.
