I’m from out of town and every time I’m visiting family near by, this is where we end up. We’ve gone for just drinks, we’ve gone for late dinner and drinks, and we’ve gone for dinner with the kids. This place has the best of all worlds. There is an attention to the food that you don’t find many other places. Looking at the menu, don’t be fooled; it’s not just bar food. Servers have always been great, bar tenders have always been great, food has always been great.

OK, my original review from a couple of years ago was a four star review; for what it was, the pub did a solid job, and we’ve stopped in there regularly over the years. Noting fancy — just basic pub fare, done respectably well. Good neighborhood tavern. But lately, they’re really fallen off, especially in the quality of the food. Their steak and cheese had been one of my husband’s favourites for many years; the last two times he’s ordered it, he’s said it wasn’t very good at all — the second time he didn’t even finish it. I ordered a French dip that was a special one night several weeks ago, and that was also not very good — meat seemed dry and tasteless, the dipping juice was bland, and the whole thing was served tepid, with cold french fries. Tonight, our whole table ordered burgers; two were ordered at medium-rare, one at medium-well … all three came out on the VERY well done end of well-done. Not quite to «ossified,» but not far off. And the onion rings — normally very tasty — were cold when they arrived at the table, and far greasier than usual. Cold greasy onion rings are not remotely appealing! The service isn’t up to its old levels, either. The last few times we’ve been in, service has been slow, or inconsistent; we’ve spent a lot of time waiting for our server. If our waiter had come by tonight while we were eating our burgers, to check in, I’d have said something about how badly overcooked they were — they weren’t quite so bad that I’d likely send them back, but I confess I considered it – but he didn’t come by to see if things were OK until after we were finished eating. The servers we’ve had recently also haven’t seemed to know their jobs well. It’s little things. We were seated tonight right under the specials board. That was OK, but it meant we couldn’t see it. He never offered to tell us about the specials. He was awkward when asking if we were ready to order — we’d set our menus down on the table and were chatting, so fairly obviously we had decided, but he still approached us saying something to the effect of, «So do you guys need a few more minutes?» He also made what’s becoming a common mistake, of clearing some dirty plates while one diner was still eating. It was a slow night; there were only a few other tables seated, so he wasn’t rushed or distracted. And he wasn’t rude, or anything like that. I think he was just poorly trained. It’s a shame — I’ve liked the Pub for years. Still a decent neighborhood place to stop for a pint — they have a short but interesting and varied beer selection, with some very good choices included. And they’ve made some physical upgrades in the last few years, especially improving the bathrooms, and decluttering the dining room. But if you’re looking for a meal, you might want to go elsewhere these days. Though FWIW, the last time I had their pizza(always a popular item), about 6 months or so ago, it was still very good. I sincerely hope the Pub can find it’s way back to the quality of food it’s had in the past.

Overpriced & below-average. I suppose if you are interested in a friendly local pub/restaurant«where everybody knows your name» this is the place for you. If, however, you are looking for quality food you should probably look elsewhere. I work close by, and have been here 3 – 4 times in the past 18 years, only because they were Happy Hour choices and I went along for the ride. Yesterday I chose to have lunch here with colleagues, and was charged $ 16.50 for a mediocre crab cake sandwich with a teaspoon of cole slaw and extremely salty chips. I was told it was«Market Price», which is restaurant-speak for«we are about to screw you.» If you don’t care where you eat and just want to hang out, have a few drinks and«grab something to eat» while you’re there then go for it. Don’t make this a first choice because of food quality, unless«bland» is the new«tasty».

My biggest problem with this place is the service. The waitress I had was very inattentive. I went on Sunday night and it was not really busy in the dining room. There was a waiter and a waitress and i got stuck with the very slow and not very friendly waitress. I tried the chili which I did not like. First of all, it was actually cold. I think they just microwaved it and it did not heat through. It was also very sweet. I would not get the chili again. I also had the pizza which was very good. This place just needs better service.

Friendly and lively place with decent basic bar food. Burgers and sandwiches are good and a great beer selection. Perfect for families… a they often have a fun trivia night on Wednesdays.

I’d love to see healthier options and better quality ingredients. When I come here with my family, I feel like I have very little options unless I want something unhealthy or a generic salad. Pizza is good(dough is particularly great) but otherwise, the menu is pretty standard for a pub and nothing exciting. As a newbie to the neighborhood, this place has a lot potential to tap into the local parents wanting a great place for their family to dine at on a school night or weekend treat.

Being a local in the neighborhood we come here quite frequently. The service is great. The beer is cold. The pizza and burgers are awesome. The happy hour specials are good. The menu prices are fair. It is relatively clean for being a pub especially the bathrooms. Would give them 5 stars but I took one away cause every now and then we do order something that taste a little unappetizing and it usually is something that has crab meat in it. So if you steer away from the crab you should be good to go.

Unilocal says the pub closes at 1am, it should say«whenever we want» Last night my friend was celebrating her birthday here with a group of friends. We chose this place because it was in the area and it closed at 1am. However, I ended up getting there at 11pm just in time for a beer and a shot for the birthday girl and I. The bartender just announced last call. what?! At 11pm? I asked the bartender why was he announcing last call if the bar is opened until 1am? His response: we close based on people at the bar. Half the bar was full and if the table we had were at the bar it would take up the other half. Whatever it was a lame excuse for a lazy restaurant. Will not be returning to this bar. It was a bad first impression.

The fried apple pie thing a la mode is amazing. Would come back just for that. We also really like the pizza, thin crust, lots of sauce, lots of cheese. Yum.

Stopped here on the way to NC because of some reviews and to watch the World Cup game. The nachos with the chili was the best part of the food. Pizza is no good. Food came out fast, so that was nice. Smelled like trash on the way in, so that wasn’t really welcoming. But on the bright side, the iced tea came in a very large cup.

We hadn’t been to The 4 Corners Pub for years. Last time it was a smoky dive under different management and a different name. It’s now a cozy pub with warm sconces, soft lighting, nicely spaced tables. Music could have been a little lower, but whatever. They didn’t have my favorite wine but the waitress said the bartender could make me a spritzer. It was good. And as usual, husband enjoyed a beer. We started with wings which were pretty good. I think we may not have made the best choice with our pizza. It was a little busy and the sauce was a little sweeter than what I like. The service was good. Small touch, the waitress brought extra napkins without our having to ask. Looking forward to going back and trying some other dishes.

This is by far the best local spot in the Silver Spring area. It is always a local crowd so it feels nice and homey. The pizza is literally some of the best I have ever had. No better pizza in this area. Cheap beers and a great selection on tap as well as bottles. The bartenders are very friendly. Tons of TVS so a great sports atmosphere. It does get crowded sometimes and the place isnt huge and parking could be better. Overall, this is a fantastic bar with cheap beer and great food. In terms of Silver Spring it does not get much better then the 4 corners pub.

This might be one of my new favorite local places. Its close, simple, food is good, drinks are good, people are good and its affordable. Definitely a very relaxed, come-as-you-are type of place but has a good at-home feel to it. Not too clicky and new comers(like us) felt very welcome.

This is one of the few local bars in the area. The bartenders always remember your name. And they have pretty kick ass food. Especially the fish and chips.

Nice beer selection but I still have issues with their chili whenever I asked them to make it hot they microwave it with the cheese which melts into a Gooey puddle of oil. Having it your way here just makes it worse. If you want hot chili ask for the cheese on the side.

Run of a meal bar just outside of downtown Silver Spring. I came in on a Monday night for quick drinks after a season ending softball game. I had the burger, it was cooked well and apparently 40% off because it was a Monday night. The burger was seasoned well and juicy enough. Fries were just okay, cooked have been cooked a littler harder and salted a little more. Not much else to be say about 4 Corners, nice chill spot to grab a beer and a bite and enjoy a game or two.

Solid neighborhood hangout. We came here for a football game, which I think is the optimal use of this establishment. The atmosphere during games is very friendly and positive but also has a nice buzz to it. The place is clean and spacious enough, and the service has been very friendly. Parking can be a bit tricky with the non-standard lot configuration, but I’ve always found a spot. The brew selection is a bit meagre, but gets the job done and is fairly priced. I liked the pizza less than other reviewers seem to, and since there are few other vegetarian options I’m not likely to come here for a meal. But if I’m going to the neighborhood bar for a meal, then I’m not really thinking things through now am I? Suggestion: Red Maple next door for dinner, 4CP after for drinks and snacks. Family friendly all round, but still a good time at a good price.
