I’m visiting from Salt Lake for work, just happened opon Davids Café on Unilocal and I’m extremely glad I did. Ive gone in the last 3 days and tried 3 different panini’s and all 3 have been extremely delicious. David is really nice and seems to really care about his food and his customers. 5 stars.

Our breakfast was as basic as it gets. Sandwiches on toasted plain white bread, with the fillings absolutely nothing short of what we would do at home. No big surprise. This is a café in the middle of an office building district, and it also specializes, seemingly, in lunch and custom salads, not breakfast. I did not like having to pay for coffee refills(we only wanted one refill, not to sit around and drink coffee all morning), but the coffee was good at least. The décor was an interesting French Café meets Whole Foods bakery department. Don’t think we need to make the trip here again, but I ain’t hatin’.

Nothing to write home about. I got the spicy baja chicken panini which tasted fine but watching them microwave the deli meat was slightly off-putting. Maybe my definition of a panini is too strict but I was expecting my sandwich to be toasted on a panini press and it wasn’t. Good variety of options so I can understand the work lunch appeal but I won’t be coming back.

I ate BLT with mayo before and today I tried avocado & roasted chicken salad. It was fresh and had clean taste.

I got the portobello panini, it was pretty good. It was a bit expensive and the portion was pretty small. I would go back, but only if I had a big breakfast that day.

Amazing little small sandwich shop. Every sandwich that has graced my tummy has been so tasty. All of my co-workers make group trips to this place for lunch because it is just that good. They even have ginger beer. The only downfall is that they close so early.

The best turkey club Panini I’ve ever had. Roasted red peppers and chipotle mayo? Who’d of thunk it? Delicious! Very friendly service

I came here after reading the sandwich reviews but upon seeing the lunch special, tilapia and rice, I decided to have that. It was 7.99 I think, with a small salad. First, I was discouraged to see that whether I was to dine in or take out, the only container for my food was to be a polystyrene clamshell, and my water also came in styrofoam. I asked the man if the reason they didn’t have more eco-friendly serving materials was cost, and he nodded. The tilapia was warming on a closed grill. It was served covered with strips of green(now«army green» in color) and red bell pepper. It had a nondescript flavor. It was fresh enough, just not tasty, and in lots of oil. I chose cilantro lime vinaigrette for the scoop of mixed green salad – do not recommend! It tasted sweet with no sharpness. The rice was mushy and bland, and I didn’t eat it. I may try again and if I do, I’ll be sure to select sandwich instead!

Best kept secret in Silver Spring. Great for a long or short lunch. We grabbed some to-go sandwiches and sat at the picnic tables in Woodside Park, just across the street from David’s. Well worth the extra walk from the main downtown area.

Good things come in small packages… yep that’s how I describe Davids. I’ve been dying to try this place due to my love of sandwiches and its proximity to home HOWEVER, I never have before today because… they’re only open 7 – 4 Mon-Fri(ARGH!). Like many, during those hours I am at work– in DC. The sandwich I got today was GOOD! I had the Italian Comb… mmhhmm! The staff was friendly too. So while the place may be a closet and tucked away on a side street(Spring near Georgia) I was happy with my lunch and you would be too if you stopped by. Just a note, they take cards with a $ 5.00 minimum.

Having went to Montgomery College and now working on Georgia Avenue, I got sick of downtown Silver Spring years ago. There may be tons of restaurants but few of them are actually good(I’m looking at you, Austin Grill, McGinty’s, and Red Lobster). Hence, David’s is now my go-to place for lunch. I love a good sandwich and they make some that are deeee-licious! My favorite is the turkey, brie, and cranberries. They use sinus clearing honey mustard, real brie, and thick roasted turkey. Suck it, Panera. Besides the deli sandwiches, they also make paninis. Perfect for cold winter days! For a small(ish) café in an office building, they sure manage to pack in a lot of variety! Among Coke products, you can also find foreign drinks, as well as organic/healthy/local beverages. Same with the chips and dessert selection. I wonder if I can get them to move to my building…

Excellent fresh brewed ice tea(Tazo) but not sure if they give refills or not. Reasonable prices($ 3.75 for a grilled cheese if you want something warm and comforting without paying much). Friendly staff and healthy options. I think I’ve found my new lunch place! Sorry Panera! Only thing– I wish they didn’t use styrofoam

This is my favorite place to have lunch in Silver Spring! The food is incredibly fresh every day. I’ve never had a bad lunch here. They have a pretty giant menu. They have lots of vegetarian-friendly options too! My favorite things to order: the vegetarian panini(cheese, artichoke hearts, sundried tomatoes. yum!), the thai-veggie wrap(spicy peanut sauce!), and the tex-mex wrap that is sometimes on special(without chicken less $ 1, haha). You really can’t go wrong with anything at David’s! They also have fresh syrup-free smoothies. I had the spinach smoothie, and it was great. Don’t let green smoothies intimidate you — they’re fabulous! :) Very polite, great service, clean tables. Great place for a quick bite to eat on your lunch break!

I’m not surprised David’s Café has so many great reviews. This is by far my favorite fast place to eat in Silver Spring! The vegetables are cut fresh, daily. There are so many options– I go there almost every day and never get bored! I often ask for portobello mushrooms to be added into my salads or sandwiches. They’re a bit spicy and very filling. The staff is very kind and and considerate. It will get crowded around noon, so I recommend waiting till 1:30 or so to head over there. Mmm… now I’m getting hungry.

My office building is about a block and half away from David’s and this is everyone’s go-to lunch spot. Despite being close to all the chain restaurants in Downtown Silver Spring and working directly across from another deli, David’s is what we always think of on any given day. The question is not usually, «Where should we go today?» But rather, «David’s or not?» The menu is so expansive, it is the perfect lunch spot with salads, paninis, sandwiches, and soups. Despite having several meat options, this place tends to bring out my inner vegetarian. I LOVE their Vegetarian Sandwich and their Portobello Melt Panini(with extra roasted bell peppers!). Favorite soups are their minestrone, tomato basil, and turkey veg. There are so many options to choose from that you can’t really ever get bored with David’s. The pricing isn’t too shabby either. So happy I have this place available to me daily. I wish they were open for dinner! They also have specialty coffee and breakfast options, but I don’t get into work early enough to stop by. Maybe one day.

I know this ‘hood like the palm of my… (Pump fake.) Guess I don’t. If I had, I would have noticed this small café, tucked away in the 1300 Spring Street office building months ago. I mean, after all, I pass by here every day. How observant of me. I might as well be wearing one of those Elizabethan doggy satellite dishes with stunner shades since I clearly am not the most astute to my surroundings. Cut me a little slack, okay. It is located on a side street. There are some visual limitations. The main entrance is not completely clear. But to my surprise, the café was much more spacious then I anticipated with so many offerings: delicious and fresh looking salads, sandwiches, smoothies and other café items that are reasonably priced. They take credit cards as well. If your purchase is under $ 5 there is $.25 surcharge, which really isn’t that bad in my opinion. There is also a decent about space to sit and eat — indoors or outdoors. I ordered a large, iced coffee and it was awesome. One of the best I’ve ever had in fact, and it was under $ 3. Now that I know about this neighborhood treasure, I’m sure to become a regular!
