Been there several times and have never been disappointed with the food or the service!

My husband and I decided to eat here for a Sunday breakfast. Our food was good and I liked the fact that they actually offer a French Toast combo (with eggs, bacon, sausage and hash browns) because most places do not.
However the service was extremely poor. It was not very busy when we arrived. When we walked in, we were not greeted by the waitress (who DID see us, she looked right at us but never even said hello — she was an older woman with short blondish hair). We found a seat and the bus girl asked if we wanted something to drink. Gave her our drink order. Never brought out water or asked if we wanted water. Waitress came to our table, and literally didn’t even say «hello» or anything. She just stood there with her notepad in hand, looking at us. It was extremely awkward.
Food arrived about 25 minutes later. Waitress never returned to ask us how everything was or if we needed a refill on our drinks. Even after we were done eating, we sat there for several minutes before she came to our table to see if we were ready for our check.
Here’s the thing… we got a real «regulars only» vibe from this place. Our waitress was very friendly, attentive and chatty with many OTHER tables. Even bringing one customer a newspaper to read. They were obviously regulars, as she addressed many by first name. But we didn’t even get a BASIC friendly «hello, how are you today?». She literally stood at our table with her notepad and said nothing. The cook (or maybe he was the owner?) was behind the counter when we were walking out and he was VERY friendly. However, it didn’t make up for his waitress’s complete lack of common courtesy. We don’t need to make best friends with the waitstaff, we just expect the basic «hello…what can I get you?» and then don’t just deliver our food and ignore us because you don’t know who the heck we are. Oh and there’s this thing called a SMILE… yeah there was none of that nonsense from this waitress either.
Based on the service, we won’t return. There are plenty of other breakfast options in the area that have good food, and actually have friendly wait staff who won’t ignore you. I really wish more restaurant owners realized that WAITSTAFF can totally make it or break it. This place gave off a total unwelcoming vibe due to the waitress.

I’ve hit pretty much the entire menu here and nothing has disappointed. Specials are often great (homemade corned beef hash and zeppoles were the last two, both out of this world). Service is good, the owners are kind, the view is great, and you just can’t go wrong. If money were no object (and it’s not like Scully’s is that expensive) I would have breakfast there every day. No exaggeration.
