Calvary Chapel Signal Hill

I had visited this church, today. I will say it is a good bible base fellowship. However, it is not a place of praise. For example, when I was saying «Amen» or «Thank you, Jesus» during the sermon, one of the minister came up to me and told me to keep my voice down. Honestly, I was a little shocked. However, I had noticed people were quiet and lacked enthusiasm for praise. Nonetheless, the same minister came up to after church and said «I hope I didn’t offend you, earlier.» I had appreciated that but I had asked «Were you recording? Is that why you told me to keep it down?» He replied «Yes, but he didn’t want it to distract others.» Therefore, I will probably not attend this church, again or recommend it to others. However, I will continue to listen to the radio station. Because, at least I will be able to praise in my car.

Enjoyed being in a place where everyone was so friendly. I’m Pentecostal. the teaching style is different in the non-​denomination church… I’m open learn about the same God without all the formality of service. For that I enjoyed church!

I’ve been going to CCSH for 2 years now. Prior to going to church here I was a devout Catholic going through the motions but never even cracked open a bible for 30 years. When we moved to the area my wife and I were looking for a place to go to church. We tried many of the other churches in the area but none of them clicked for us until we sat in on a church service on one Sunday. The way Pastor James teaches, somehow clicked for us. The style he teaches is straight out of reading from the bible with no fluff. He carefully goes through the bible explaining it week by week from basically from page 1 to the end. He does not try to conform the world around us to fit into specific bible passages. It’s basically open the bible, read, and learn, then next week continue where you left off. This style of teaching just helped us want to learn more about what was in the bible. I say if you’re looking for something give Calvary Chapel Signal Hill a try. It might fit for you or it may not, but you won’t know unless you give it a try. I’ve learned a lot here a CCSH more so than anywhere else.
