Always carry good insurance, and stay patient in repairs! My vehicle was hit while parked which ended up with a large amount of damage (almost 70% its true market value, from my estimation). Dealing with this damage means an insurance company may consider totaling it out, or maybe not. New to the area, so I trusted the recommendation of Wawanesa (my company) and had my car towed into Three Js.
The owner, Jimmy, went into excellent detail of what would be repaired and that while they were hoping for a 3 week window, delays are common due to parts, previously undiscovered damage, and other checks. I also appreciated their warm, friendly environment — after seeing your car almost get demolished, you want good, sincere people on your side.
There were a few significant delays (turn-​around was 7 weeks), but I was told each week what was going on and why either from Jeanne or Jimmy. Keep in mind, damage was extraordinary. My rental coverage was for $ 900 (about 30 days), and the body shop picked up the rest beyond on that which was way beyond my expectations. WOW!
When I received my car back, I asked for an itemized breakdown and it was printed right away. Another gentleman also explained some of the work that occurred and why as well.
Good people still exist, and here’s to them at this shop! Appreciate you guys’ thoroughness, excellent work, outstanding customer service and commitment to quality. My car looks just as good as when I bought it!

I’ve been bring cars here through Wawanesa insurance for many years. James senior (grandfather) once even gave me a ride home. It’s that this is a legitimate business and they’re getting very hard to find. Now they have the grandson working the family business. If you want quality job, this is the place.

Jimmy was great! I went in worried about having to pay a lot. I do not have a lot of funds, and I thought at the time I could not afford a new car. He bent over backwards to try and help me out, and while my car was unfortunately totaled, he definitely went way out of his way to try and make it under that 75% total mark. When I panicked about my car being totaled he helped me by explaining how I could keep my car and use the insurance payout to get it fixed at a cheaper price (the insurance doesn’t allow after market parts, but paying for it on my own would). While I didn’t end up doing that (I could surprisingly afford a new car after all) it was extremely helpful to have him explain it all to me. It was a lot like having my dad there with me helping me make the decisions. It was great. I will definitely come here again if I need anything!

I went to 3 Js to get an estimate for a scratch on the side of my car. I spoke to a gentlemen whom I expect was the owner and he came out to look at the scratch. After a minute or so he said it’s not worth paying to get it fixed. In fact he offered to fix it for me on the spot. He had me pull into the back and he got on his hands and knees and buffed the scratch out himself with a compound. He also gave me some pointers and tips for future reference. I don’t know about you but that right there is an awesome display of integrity and honesty. He could have easily charged me because I admitted I didn’t know anything.
He’s made a customer for life. The next time I do need a repair, guess where I’m going first?

On June 02, 2014, 3J’s Auto Body damaged my vehicle by backing it into something creating a large crease and gouge in the tailgate. The owner of 3J’s drafted and signed a letter accepting liability for the damage. All I’ve asked is that they either provide information for their liability insurance, in which case I will file a claim for repairs, or they pay for the repairs as estimated by an unbiased auto body repair facility. James F. Sferrazza aka Jimmy Sferrazza, the owner of 3J’s, refuses to do either. He is insistent that I let him repair the damage caused at his auto body repair shop.
Since Mr. Sferrazza is in the business of repairing damage caused to other people’s property, he is well aware that the party who causes the damage is not entitled to dictate how or where the repairs are made. That’s what insurance is for. They damaged my vehicle. The owner accepted liability in writing. Jimmy Sferrazza refuses to provide insurance information. Mr. Sferrazza has done everything possible to intimidate me into taking my vehicle back to him so that he can repair the damage he created.
This is NOT a warranty repair issue. This is additional damage caused by 3J’s due to their negligence while driving my vehicle.
07/​12/​2014 — It’s been 6 weeks and the damage to my truck has still not been repaired and 3J’s still has not provided insurance information. I have three estimates. ~~~~ Crickets.

I can’t say enough good things about this company. I was involved in a car accident on Christmas Eve… not the way I wanted to spend the holiday. Jean in the office was so helpful and made sure my car got moved from the Tow Yard to their office. She also recommended a rental company down the street from them.
Jimmy (the owner) walked me through the damages done to my car and explained what would need to be done and in some cases why it would need to be done. He was so helpful and answered all of my questions. He went above and beyond dealing with the other drivers insurance company for me and making sure I got exactly what I needed.
When I got my car it was beautiful. You never would have been able to tell it was in an accident. They even vacuumed the interior for me. I could not be happier with the service here and highly recommend them for any work you need done.

I went to get an estimate yesterday to fix some paint scratches on my car. I was apprehensive because I’ve had so many experiences with car shops trying to up sell me on things I didn’t need or price gauge me. However I was pleasantly surprised here. The man who helped me was friendly, helpful and full of information. I could tell he was being honest with me which is all I ever ask for. I’m just sorry I never got his name. Definitely come here if you need work done on your car. They provide quality service.

Unfortunately my car was involved in another fender-​bender! Having such great service in the past, I made the trek up to Signal Hill once again with a dented car. (actually only took me 20 minutes from So OC so drive wasn’t so bad!
I was warmly welcomed by James who helped me understand my options and insurance concerns. I left my car in their capable hands and 4 days later my car was back in perfect condition!
Jimmy, the president of the company, discussed the work done to my car and actually personally took my car to car wash so it was shiny & new when I picked it up. To receive such friendly service is 5 star all the way!
On my way to the shop, an object in our lane was thrown up and hit my son’s car and so I have yet another job for 3 J’s Auto! They gave my son an incredible discount since he would be paying cash knowing teenagers don’t have much money. They truly treat you like you’re family! Not only are they family-​owned & operated but they treat you like family not just a customer.

2 years to respond! I posted a negative review ⁶⁄₂₀₁₁. Amazingly, I get a negative response back yesterday, 8÷20÷13.

I have serious trust issues when it came to getting quote & work done from from an auto body repair shop. Seem quotes vary from «Looks like you’re going to have to call your insurance company to replace your bumper», to «oh my, this is going to take a while», and a person disappears into an office and comes back with an outrageous amount to repair (not replace) a punctured bumper.
What I can tell you is that the owner of this company really have a passion for what they do. They take pride in their work and their service. He showed me in detail the work that would be done, (step by step — no where volunteered this information before). In all of the repair shops that I got quotes at, the owner really knew his stuff and quoted a price that was appropriate and fair.
I accepted his quote and he was able to fit me in his schedule and get my car back to me in quite a reasonable amount of time looking as if it just came off the show room floor. The best part was that the price was so good that I didn’t have to file a claim and it made better sense to just fix the car out of my own pocket. Now, if only I could learn how to drive & park better so I can keep my beautiful car looking this great!

I took my truck to 3J’s six, almost seven years ago and had some body work done on my Ford Ranger. In the intervening years some defects became apparent. In the course of getting some engine work done a couple of weeks ago, I came across the paperwork for the body repair and paint and was reminded of 3J’s lifetime warranty.
I called them and explained to Jean and she said, «Oh, that’s not right, you need to bring that truck back.» I brought it round the following Monday and Jimmy and James took a look, agreed that it was covered by the warranty, and apologized that I had to bring it back. We scheduled a time to drop it off and they took care of the defects and now the truck looks as good as new.
When I picked it up, Jimmy apologized again and actually thanked me for the opportunity to take care of it.

Got everything sorted. This is the third time we have used this shop. #1 was a Wawanesa claim on a Honda Pilot, all good. #2 I took my WRX in for a cash repair, no problems.
#3 I dropped off my A4 for insurance work, and it came back with items not repaired, pretty obvious stuff too. They happily took it back and made it all right. Ideally it’s done right the first time, but mistakes do happen, and they followed through to get everything fixed in the end.

They did a real good job in customer service and on the repair. They kept everything nice and clean and there’s no surprises.
My only complain is that they put a big scratch on the license plate for some reason (the license plate wasn’t damaged in the first place). If not for that, I would have given them 5 stars.

I worked at Enterprise Rent-​A-​Car nearby and have never seen such an overwhelming approval rating from a body shops customers. I have taken my car there a few times and joined the club. Professional, affordable, and pleasant to work with.

Y’know, I really had hoped not to see these guys again, despite the fact that they treated my like gold the last time, and did an amazing job, but fate saw things differently as the guy in the oncoming lane saw fit to make a left turn in to the side of my car as I passed through the intersection.
I dropped my car at 3 J’s that night, picked up my rental, and 10 days later, after all the insurance company haggling, I picked it up looking good as new again. They always go above and beyond to do such beautiful work, and make the customer service experience painless and pleasant, despite the reason that you’re there in the first place.

This review is a long time coming.
And so the story goes, got in an accident a couple months back…
I called my insurance company to file a claim; and 3 J’s was the closest body shop that I could take my car to (according to my insurance company). I picked them based on convenience… but I am so glad I went there!
James helped me out and made sure I was taken care of. He was able to get me a brand new factory bumper. He made my car look like new again! I was also able to get $ 50 off my deductible. It was my first insurance claim; and it was seriously such a pleasant experience.
Everyone at 3 J’s was kind and helpful. Hopefully there’s not a «next time» as far as accidents go; but if there is, I’m definitely coming back to 3 J’s. I know they’ll be honest and fair. And I know I’ll get great service for sure!

At last the long ordeal is over. I feel so filthy dealing with these guys.
Picked up my part. Happy to report that no one tried to beat me up. No one screamed at me. The old guy who was talking tough on the phone was AWOL. His son (presumably) wanted me to sign some form saying I was «satisfied» with the repairs. They must be under the impression that these forms would protect them in any court of law. For poops and giggles, I signed.
Paint on the part looks fine, not perfect, but at least they fixed that gouge. Surface isn’t smooth but it’s good enough.
So to sum up.
PROS
+Dirt cheap. I paid something short of $ 90 when all the competition started their estimates at $ 125. Ten percent off coupon really helped, plus I sat down and negotiated with them on the price.
+If you have a question about the mystical craft of painting automobiles, the old guy will actually take the time to answer your questions.
+Cute office dog. I love this freaking dog. So cute. Sweetest dog ever.
CONS
–Owner threatens to beat up customers on the phone then promptly slams the phone on them. Really, this is unforgivable. These guys could potentially lose their business license over stunts like this, not to mention incurring criminal charges.
–Poor quality control.
–Lack of communication between office and garage, both literally and figuratively. The garage never picks up calls from the office so you have to walk down there and pick your part up.
–Three percent charge on credit cards and paypal.

Highly recommended — Great service and an honest shop. I came in to repair/​paint a scuffed mudguard on my friend’s car and was not going thru insurance so I was sensitive to cost. Got three estimates from different places and decided on this place. I’m glad I did. Final cost: 10% UNDER estimate and the work they did was great.
Note: This place doesn’t take credit cards. I was short on cash and had no checks, so I thought they might not let me take the car, but they said, «Okay, no problem, just come back.» I drove off without any hassle from them and dropped off a personal check the next day. Thanks guys!

Timely service, Knowledgeable, and they make you feel like one of the Family. Jean who works the phone is very friendly. Older James and younger James always take care of their customers and go out of their way to make your auto body experience a painless and easy experience
They take care of all the work with the insurance so all you have to do is just sit back and relax.
Would I come back… YES…have gone with their auto body services 3 times now

Don’t you wish sometimes when you go into a Thai restaurant, they’d teach you how to make the pad thai in addition to feeding it to you?
Well, that’s kind of how it works at 3 Js Autobody. Ok, so they didn’t teach me how to FIX my car, but they did teach me ABOUT my car. Jim (I believe) walked me around my car and pointed out every infinite blemish on my 2007 SUV aka «Greased Lightning.»
«See here? This was a ding from a truck door because the ding’s way up here.» Ok. «See here? Someone dented your car, and the bumper became undented again because of the flex in the paint and the bumper … but you can see a spiderweb design where there was a dent.» And for the first time, I SAW.
He checked the radiator for me too at my insistence Greased Lightening was leaking after I rear-​ended a Civic which was why I was there in the first place.
Excellent customer service, owner is knowledgeable, everyone there is friendly and best of all — I got my car back on time!
