This local coffee shop has been our stop ever since we moved to Siesta. They even carry organic vegan gluten free treats to go with my dairy free cappuccino! If you have a lot of restrictions in your diet, you will find your yummy morning treats here! Thank you Local Bean!

my boyfriend and i stopped in the local bean while we were vacationing in the area last week and it was a really great coffee shop to hang out at. the vibe was very welcoming and very chill. seems like a lot of people were friendly and knew the owner and the owner knew them. great customer service. the soy latte was pretty perfect! my boyfriend got a smoothie and you can see the fresh squeezed juice going in, which is a nice touch. seems like a lot of care went into the menu with fresh, organic and local offerings. i would definitely visit this place again and would recommend it to anyone looking for really delicious coffee drinks in a really comfortable atmosphere.

Great BLT’s and Turkey Clubs; Wonderful lattes and smoothies; pretty much all organic where possible and/or practical. Well thought out; Nice vibe. Talk if you want it, or just work on your computer, read or day dream. Nice outside seating area. Great joint.

This place was highly rated so I was excited to try it out. Unfortunately I didn’t have the great experience everyone else did. I’m hoping I caught the(owner?) worker on a bad day… There was only 1 guy working there and there was zero friendliness in the service. Selection left something to be desired as did the iced coffee — I had to serve myself. I could see how it would be a local’s spot, but not a place I’d visit again on vacation.

Maybe I’m a snot, but I feel like you can judge a coffee shop based on foam density and espresso shot value. I got a doppio macchiato, the foam was super bubbly and far from dense, a disappointment. The espresso shots were super tasty though which made up for the less than mediocre«foam.» I’m a foam nazi. The atmosphere is fantastic, with little local nik-nak things for sale and such. The owner definitely nailed the«beachy coffee vibe» or w.e. you want to call it. The one guy working was totally nice and that’s where the fourth star comes into play. I guess the wide variety of sandwiches and pastries and things also merits a forth star. Conclusion: I couldn’t find alot of coffee shops on the key that sparked my interest, or tickled my fancy, so this one is definitely worth a stop. Grab a muffin, and a little bit of caffeinated motivation and head to the beach!

The competitive advantage of the Local Bean is that word«local». It appears that actual residents take coffee here, as opposed to other SK joints catering to sun-seeking interlopers. That gives this place a less stressed feel because the customers aren’t in a rush; there’s always tomorrow, which is not the case for time-limited tourists. Important to note is the(sorta) self-service model. That changes the dynamic and the prices, which apparently suits the regulars. You won’t see lines out the door, and you will not see a check in the tens of dollars. All that is good. The food is fine. The service is as you would expect from an owner operator who seems to know everyone. For my taste, the coffee is too weak, a shortcoming remedied by adding some number of extra espresso shots to spruce up the flavor. Otherwise, the LB is all you’d want in a local caff… hence the name, I imagine. Three stars for now because I keep being burned by Siesta’s coffee establishments. Blame those easy-money dilettantes from up north crowding us out — we’ll take our revenge someday.

Decent little coffee house in the village. Hot, iced, lattes etc all available. It was really quit when we went in there at 12:00 on a Tuesday but that’s to be expected. Seemed like a cool place to hang out and read the paper or whatever you partake in.

The Local Bean has struck a unique delicate & exquisite culinary balance on their signature BLT. Light, yet substantial. Lunchtime, morning … post yoga, or afternoon breaktime. Their sandwich is the finest around. My speciality are BLTs. :) Coffees are fresh, organic, roasted to match the tropical atmosphere. Lovely. Subdued. Tasteful. Friendly. This is your quiet, quality retreat from the rush /noise of Siesta Village. Highly regarded & recommended.

Delicious latte. I also got some bagels and cream cheese to go and they hit the spot. Nice, laid back atmosphere. Outdoor seating looked cozy but I was in a hurry to get back to my condo.

I was given the name of Zach & The Local Bean by the staff at our resort. I was in contact with Zach SEVERALTIMES and SEVERALWEEKS before my wedding in regards to a lunch being delivered for six people(my bridal party) to my bridal suite while we were getting ready for the wedding. The subject of my email had the event date(10÷10÷14). The delivery time was 11:30am. I assumed that Zach would know how imperative it would be to be punctual on a wedding day, so when it became 11:45am, I called to see where my lunch was. The man that answered the phone(I’m assuming Zach, the owner?) basically told me that I was wrong and that I had ordered my lunch to be delivered on Sunday(10÷12÷14). I was pretty sure that I wouldn’t have made such a critical mistake, and yes, he did offer to hurry up and fulfill our order and get it to us, but at this point, I was done and said no thank you. We went with getting lunch from a different deli and it worked out just fine. I eventually found my emails between myself and Zach, and where his confusion started was when I said I’d be looking forward to seeing him«At The Tropical Sun at 11:30am» — The Tropical Sun is the name of our hotel. NOTTHEDAYOFTHEWEEK! And yes, Zach did send me an apology email and offered to buy me a free coffee should I have wanted to stop by. Thanks, but no thanks Zach.

YES. This cozy café is just what you need to start your morning off right. The coffee is excellent, the owner is friendly, and the outdoor seating is relaxing. Maybe its just the laid back nature of Siesta Village, but I love this place. It’s right next to the Pharmacy and kind of easy to miss if you don’t look for it.

Best iced coffee on a hot summer day. Went to the Local Bean for the first time this morning while we were shopping at the cute shoe store down the way and will definitely be back.

This place is what a café should be. Laid back and hip but not pretentious, very comfortable, and most important, GREATCOFFEE! The baked goodies are excellent too. Unless it is good, live music at these places can kind of get on my nerves, but not here. The musicians that play are the real deal and tend to blow everyone away. The new owners are awesome and I’m so happy this place is around.

What a great little spot, very nice staff(appears to be a staff of one and she is efficient and friendly), good coffee, nice vibe with a few small tables and a bench area, and a few tables outside. She has live music a few nights a week and it got very busy for that.

So first of all, this place is now called The Local Bean, as it’s changed owners. My husband and I discovered this place when we were in town several months ago looking to buy a house. We were moving from San Francisco, so were very happy to find a coffee shop that feels so much like our favorites from back home. Why is this place so great? The staff was very friendly, the prices are good, and the décor/ambience is quirky and fun. Everything looked well-maintained and clean. My husband is a smoker and even he was glad that the tables outside are labeled non-smoking. But most important, they make a fantastic cup of coffee. I tried both a mocha and a double espresso over two visits. The espresso was strong but not bitter, robust and flavorful. The mocha had the perfect amount of chocolate richness, and wasn’t not overly sweet like at Starbucks. My husband loves that they make cubanos too, which are sweetened espressos; if you haven’t ever had one, give it a try! Now that we live here in Florida, we plan on having a leisurely coffee break every weekend at The Local Bean, even though it’s 45 minutes away. This coffee shop is worth the drive.
