LJ’s Hair Hop

Do Not waste your money on this salon. The woman has absolutely no idea what she is doing. Consistently got the color wrong, made my hair fall out and does not even use a timer when she puts color in. Her prices are a la carte and too high for the level of experience (or lack of) that she has. Go elsewhere!

I’ve had my hair cut/​colored by LJ for years. I’ve lived in different cities along the east coast and she’s by far the most creative stylist I’ve ever known. I come in from the Boston area to see her every few weeks, the online appointments have made scheduling much easier! I trust her opinion, and she’s someone I can rely on when I went a new look or big change, or something subtle and simple. She has a great eye and vision and her suggestions and input always hit the mark. She truly cares about her clients and makes everyone feel like family. The hair hop is quite a hidden jem in Shrewsbury.

LJ is amazing. I don’t live in Worcester. If I did, I would go to her all the time. But she saved my life, well hair, but is there a difference?
I met her at a party a few years ago when my hair was falling out. I didn’t know what it was from. I had seen a doctor. It was so frustrating and identity-​crushing.
She said, «Make an appointment, we’ll help you out.» I drove from Boston to her salon when I had seen a bunch of other stylists in the Boston area – known of whom cared or knew what was happening.
I came in and she looked at my hair. I showed her a picture from the year before. She helped me figure what it was – even when a doctor couldn’t. It was a medical thing that I fixed right away and my hair came back… it took a year, but it came back! She cut and styled my hair in a way that was new for me because I didn’t have as much hair. And she showed me how to style it so that my hair looked more full. I am eternally grateful to her. She knows so much about hair and style and cut. She’s the best!!!
