Today was my second visit within a month or so. The donuts are very good. Better hot, but still quite good after they’ve sat a little while. That shop however, not organized. It’s actually unwelcoming. ¼ filled coolers, no décor and clutter on the counters. Waiting 15 minutes for 2 donuts is just ridiculous. Two women came in after me and because there was only one person working, she was in the back making my donuts and didn’t even acknowledge them. They waited about 5mins and left. The only previous time I went with a friend and every time he asked for a donut, the guy just kept saying no. Not we’re out of that, just no. After the third request I thought he was just screwing with us. Finally his fourth request was granted. Just weird. The donuts are tasty but I don’t see this place lasting much longer. It takes way too long for a donut and there is just nothing about the place itself that makes me want to go back again. There are other gourmet donut options in the area that are more appealing.

I have been looking forward to trying a Cronut for some time. After visiting DoCo on Saturday, I still am. Got off to a late start and made it to DoCo at 330, about an half hour before closing. There was one customer being helped, and it took quite a while for the one employee to finish preparing her order. I can understand that custom made donuts take time, but it seemed to be excessive and interminable. When it was our turn we were told there we no Cronuts left! So disappointing! Still, with 30 minutes before closing on a Saturday, I dont blame the business. But the rest of our service was terrible. We ordered two pour over Kenyan coffees, a luxury at 3.75 each. Preparing the coffee took forever because the pour over brewer needed to be refilled multiple times. GET A BREWERTHATISTHERIGHTSIZEFORTHECOFFEE! we also ordered several donuts and a beignet. While the coffee was brewing the employee began helping the next customer with their order of several donuts. Then she came back and finished our coffee, put it on the counter, and gave us a blank look when we stood, waiting. Is there anything else, she asked. Yes, we ordered some donuts, we reminded her. She didnt move quickly getting then ready, and then placed them on the far counter, in an apparent passive-aggressive demonstration of frustration. I was frustrated too, and I am not sure how it was OUR fault that she forgot to prepare the donuts we had paid for FIVEMINUTES ago. We then noticed she had put out cream for the coffee instead of the milk we had asked for. We sat down to drink the coffee and eat. The coffee was decent, but not worth $ 3.75, the donut was tasty, but we were distracted by the filthy store, with a truly gross floor, and our poor customer experience. We were quick to leave and not anxious to return. if you want a cronut, get there early and cross your fingers. The donuts are very good, but the experience was very poor.

I’m rarely a donut person. My partner, on the other hand, loves donuts more than he loves me(probably). So we go to DoCo. Finally make it there on a day they aren’t out of donuts.(tried going once and wasn’t sure why they were closed earlier than the time on the door, whatever I still went back). I’m a cannoli fanatic. Got the cannoli kronut treat they had. My partner got Smoking O’s Honey Glaze and another one, I can’t remember. Mine was too much. Like too much chocolate, too much mess, too sweet, no thanks. I chose wrong. BUT that Smoking O’s Honey Glaze one was arguably one of the most delicious donuts I’ve ever had in my 26 years of life. Wow. Three stars because mine wasn’t super great AND the ambiance suuuuucked in there. looked dirty, took ours to go!

This was my second visit to what I have deemed the donut promise-land. There are so many other options than I first experienced you need to spend some time there and… Well go donut crazy. They are small and the price is good so let’s begin. YOUCANADDBACONTOANYTHING!!! MY buddy got a maple glazed with bacon. He only had one and he has some self control. I added bacon to the caramel sea salt donut but that’s not the end. I also had a the Creamcicle and later a Cronut covered in raspberry. I did share the Cronut with our other friend and we didn’t finish it only because of sugar overload and well she’s a girl you guy know where I’m coming from. The stupid crazy delicious donuts and toppings are off the charts excellent! Now onto the coffee. My first review I was a little disappointed with the coffee but I was not paying close attention. The have a few choices and some really good pour over(French press) options and let me tell you although a little pricey they elevate the game! Now the other option is to get a regular brew and add a little flavor syrup. I don’t thing there’s an up charge for it. There are other interesting tid bits like the special flavors and other toppings plus you can customize any donut so the sky is the limit. All this said this is a winner of a joint a great idea and the price points are freakin’ phenomenal. The coffee is not the star of the show but it is better that I stated in my original review. Thank you Dr. DoCo for the prescription of deliciousness.

Artisan doughnuts in New Jersey? About ½ to 1⁄3 the price of their NYC equivalents… sure why not. All Doco’s doughnuts are touted as being made to order and it’s clear they were as I could see them being made! I ordered the Strawberry Fields, French Toast, and the now ubiquitous Cronut to go. On the drive back home the deliciously guilty aromas emanating from the box were so enticing that I was thinking about pulling over to the side of the road, ripping open the box, and digging into each doughnut. –French Toast doughnut was good; I could taste little elements of French Toast in the doughnut like cinnamon, a little vanilla, a hint of nutmeg, and is that maple syrup I taste… yummy. –Next up was the Cronut. I admit I’m way too late to the Cronut craze as I’ve never tasted one before, so I was quite eager to try Doco’s take on it. Left on it’s own merits, Doco’s Cronut was good; cinnamon sugar topping was tasty, crisp exterior, flaky croissant like interior, but the I just don’t get the hype over the idea of the Cronut. It never elicited sensations of a culinary breakthrough or warranting lining up for hours to get one. Yes people were actually doing this at Dominique Ansel’s bakery in NYC… I have witnessed it. –Strawberry Fields was the tastiest of the trio. Sweet and very strawberry tasting glaze(did not taste artificial at all like some strawberry glazes). The granola topping gave a nice texture and was very welcomed. Definitely worth a try if you’re in the area and want some tasty fresh doughnuts.

Okay so… GOHERENOW! My friend and I walked in to check this place out, it had just opened recently. The owner(I’m assuming) asked if we had been here before. We said no and he gave us TWO donuts to try first for free. After we were dying for more, we ordered to our heart’s content. The entire team was so sweet and friendly. Also, whatever you pick is made to order. That’s right. They’re not sitting in some case all day. They make it just for you. Once we got our hands on more of these delectable little treats, we basically died and went to donut heaven. If I could give ten stars(5 for customer service, 5 for the actual donuts), I would. I can’t wait to go back.

I’m visiting my friend in the area this weekend, and she heard of this place on Red Bank Green, and suggested that we check it out. I’m all about new places, so we did! I’m currently writing this review from the shop because of how impressed I was with it! This location just opened one week ago, so to welcome their new customers, they started us out with a sample donut! It was their traditional French Toast Donut, and it was served warm! All of their products come served fresh, made-to-order, and WARM!!! My friend and I ended up going all out and sharing the Sticky Bun Cronut, the Butter Pecan Salted Toffee Donut, and the Route 66. Then, as we were eating our delicious morning treats, the employee brought us another free sample of their Strawberry Fields Donut! This place is amazing! Everyone who works here is so friendly and welcoming! We were so pleased with this experience, that I’m making my friend bring me back here tomorrow morning so I can take some back to my roommates in NYC. If you’re in the area, definitely come here! Get the Sticky Bun Cronut! It comes with cream cheese frosting. Need I say more?!?
