Good carne Asada tacos! The meat was really good and the salsa was just the right amount of spicy. Pretty good price too!

Don’t let the sketchy location or griminess turn you away. While I wouldn’t consider this the most aesthetic dining establishment, if you’re looking for real Mexican tacos, this place has it. Fast, cheap, good.

1st time going last night. Right off the bat, it looks, smells, and feels like a mexican restaurant as someone from southern california would recognize. Plate of cabeza and lengua tacos did not disappoint. Meat was tender and delicious, not funky. Salsa bar had everything you might need — from chili verde to pickled jalapeños, to other levels of salsa hotness. Will definitely be a regular at this joint.

If you’ve lived in the Pacific Northwest your entire life, you won’t know what good mexican food tastes like(note: fish tacos are not the same as mexican food). However, if you’re from California, Arizona, Utah, Texas, or anywhere that has GOOD mexican food, you find yourself tirelessly searching for a worthy mexican restaurant in town. It’s a bit far north of Seattle, but it is the only place that we’ve found that actually serves some very good Mexican food around the area. Very inexpensive and tasty dinner.

Best Mexican in North Seattle, hands down. Love all of the food. Rice and beans are excellent, chili Colorado burrito is scrumptious, the enchiladas were good, and the mulitas were good if a tad on the salty side. Prices are extremely reasonable. I love the salsas, too. We will be going frequently!

I’ll keep it short; this place is everything GOOD that people say it is. Terrific authentic Mexican food. We almost didn’t go in upon arrival as it looked a bit shanty from the outside and we had our 3 year old son in tow. However, once inside it’s very clean and the chicken nuggets were the best I have ever had. I tried a few New Mexican dishes here and will continue to try new ones as well. Everything was great and the salsa bar was a huge plus.

Mediocre fast food with mediocre service. It’s just too expensive for what you’re getting. If the prices were lower I’d say it’s a great hangover joint. As it stands it’s not worth the clogged arteries nor wallet hemorrhaging.

This place is bomb dot com. I have never had bad service or food. All my husband eats is Mexican food so whenever I don’t feel like cooking I pick up for here.

I was excited to try this place out bec of the positive reviews! I ordered 2 carnitas tacos, 2 asada tacos and a chicken quesadilla. I thought they were meh. It didn’t make me go «hmm» after my first bite. The asada were soft but they are lacking flavor as well as onions and cilantro! The chicken quesadilla were salty probably from the cheese and I didn’t really taste any seasoning on the chicken so I didn’t finish it. Overall, I wasn’t satisfied and will not come back. I will stick to La Pasadita food truck at Northgate.

I was starving so I looked up some reviews on some places and ended up here. The reviews were good so I tried it out and the food was pretty good. I had some tacos and some Mulitas, and my wife had a soup. This review would be a five star review if the chick at the cash register wasn’t so indifferent. Not the greatest customer service I’ve seen but not surprised for a hole in the wall taqueria. Salsa bar is good and the prices are modest so you can overlook the service issue. If you’re looking for some pretty good Mexican food I would still recommend this place, I will definitely be back.

I love this place. I have been to similar places in Kent and was so happy when I saw this close to home. The food is amazing and it is actually authentic(including the HUGE salsa selection!). It is cheap, it is always good and there is so much to choose from. Some of faves include the tacos, mulitas, sopitos and gorditas. You pretty much cannot go wrong here. Open late but can get crowded, to-go is always a good option too. YUM!

I don’t even know where to begin… first, they’re open early and serve breakfast burritos that are pretty good. Second, they’re open until 11:00PM. It’s a taqueria but it’s more than that. The staff is always friendly and the place is always clean. You order at the counter and they bring you your food. It’s always fast and the quality is always very good. Consistency is probably my favorite feature in a restaurant and they always deliver. I almost always usually get carnitas tacos, a side of sliced avocado and beans and rice. I have gotten their burrito with carne asada and it’s tasty as well, chimichangas, tamales… the whole 9… all good. Their sauces are tasty. The price it right. You can go to other places and pay a whole lot more and get a whole lot less. This is my go to place at any time of day.

I will say, nothing compares to San Diego or Tijuana tacos. Nothing. The farther you get from the Mexican border, the worse the quality of tacos. It’s true — why do you think NorCal doesn’t have good tacos? Mathematically, there shouldn’t be any good tacos in Seattle according to my Taco: Distance-away-from-Mexico theory, since Seattle is over 1000 miles away from SD. But hey, I have to say this place isn’t too bad. To be fair, all I’ve gotten here are tacos and nothing else. They’re about $ 1.10 each, so it’s a pretty average price. The meat is pretty good and pretty flavorful as well. Almost good enough to remind me of the tacos down in SD. The place isn’t too big, so it’s not the best pace to bring large parties. It has a small parking lot as well so it might be hard to find parking too. I’d definitely come back if I needed to satisfy my taco craving! Too bad it’s so far from Seattle :(

The gorditas here… are worth any price. Yes, they charge about 5… but I’m suggesting that you do unspeakable things to get these gorditas. Kill? Yes. Conquer? Yes. Do whatever it takes. The fried fish? Wonderful. Even the sides of rice and beans are delicious and usually at Mexican spots the sides are completely without character and you can almost smell the can or box of their origin. As much as it upsets me to keep giving out these positive reviews, what else can I do? It’s an inexpensive(though most Mexican places are) spot in an unassuming location where at least you’ll know that you’ll probably be able to park without any significant issues. I don’t know why you’re still reading my review rather than eating here(unless it’s because I’m just that handsome, in which case, I forgive you). EAT!

You know those amazing taco trucks that are in parking lots everywhere but you never get the chance to try? Yeah, so this place has that kind of authentic Mexican food but in a restaurant. It’s a no frills type of place, but that kind of adds to the appeal. You order at the counter and wait for the food to come to you. There is a salsa bar that includes items like radish, cabbage slaw and pickled jalapenos in addition to different sauces. Although there was plenty of food for our table, we would consider ordering tortilla chips to eat with the free salsa next time. We saw another table doing this and regretted not doing so ourselves. I ordered the Carne Asada plate, which was very generous in portion relative to the price. The thin-cut steak was served with rice, beans and salad. My husband did the ordering, and for some reason, he asked for it to be cooked well(NO idea why, as I have been eating my steak cooked medium-rare for 20+ years!). Therefore, I did find the carne asada to be tougher than I prefer, but the flavor was spot on, and I would definitely return to try it cooked less well done. My husband enjoyed his tacos(also a great price), and he found them to be even better than the taco food trucks he has tried locally. The chicken quesadilla and cheese quesadilla were big hits with the kiddos, and our pickiest one enjoyed his chicken nuggets from the kids’ menu. We treated the family to dessert and ordered the churro and flan. The churro was cut into smaller pieces and served with ice cream — it went fast. The flan was a luscious creamy custard — amazingly good for this little Mexican joint. We really enjoyed our Mexican meal here from beginning to end!

Whenever I come here, I want to cry a little bit thinking about the tragic Americanized tacos I ate as a kid, not knowing any better. Da fuq. Luckily, Taqueria El Sabor is the real deal, and it’s always packed with Mexican families verifying its authenticity. Their tacos are the bomb-diggity(yes, every kind of taco, I declare it!) and their salsa bar is expansive and a nice touch. Service is friendly and quick, and the prices are mind-blowingly awesome. I’m pretty sure you can get 6 tacos for like $ 7 – 8. And that comes with a drink. They also have a picture of every menu item they offer, which is awesome for first-timers and anyone looking to meander outside of their comfort zone of tacos. As for me… I’ll get there eventually, but damn the tacos are just so good!

This unassuming place in what appears to be an old Taco Bell is completely underrated. And that might be a good thing because I don’t want yet another place I love to have to test my love for the duration of an hour long wait. It works much like a fast food restaurant. You order up front and pick up your order. They have seating but you can also order food for take out. When it’s slow, at times they’ve brought my food to my table. They have a mini-salad bar with some pickled veggies, minced onions, sliced up radishes and so forth. The food is fantastic. I’ve really enjoyed their menudo, wet burrito and other random things I’ve ordered off the menu. The menudo though… It’s not for everyone. It’s tripe swimming in grease(in a pepper-based broth). They fortunately did not shy away from asking me if I wanted the pig’s feet in it. It would’ve scared most people but for the adventurous, I would say it’s a must. The customers are primarily Mexican families and workers. For those of you who feel strongly about your Mexican food having to be «authentic,» it doesn’t get more legit than this.

I’ve been here twice now and ordered the same thing both times: carne asada plate. So good! The tender meat has enough char and flavor that makes it super yummy. The refried beans are out of this world, and the rice is really good. All in all, this place has fast food but good food. I also love their horchata! Their tacos are super cheap, like 3 for $ 5 — I will definitely be back to try more of their dishes.

Family owned authentic Mexican restaurant. Muy sabroso! Pedí un burrito fajita y mi familia. Comió la carne asada, una ensalada taco, y algunos tacos de carne asada. Everything was yummy and the beef tasted like it just came off the BBQ. We ordered everything with whole beans since we don’t eat lard. The owner is super nice too.
