At 58, I’m one of the older students there and I really enjoy it. I could never«just exercise», I need to be learning something useful at the same time and this fits the bill perfectly. The classes are a good workout and everyone is very friendly and helpful. My entire family takes lessons there(our sons started ahead of my wife and me) and everyone’s progress is amazing. If you are interested in learning Kung Fu and/or Tai Chi then this is the place to go.

I have had bad experiences with other martial arts schools much of my life. People tend to be unfriendly and too prideful. A hostile environment makes learning difficult. At the Shaolin Center of Seattle, I have finally found a place that allows me to work out hard, learn self defense, and become immersed in a true ancient art in a friendly environment. This school has given me the opportunity to learn with people of all ages and backgrounds, and I have gained much through practicing with them. Learning Kung Fu and Tai Chi here has provided me with the chance to develop myself as a confident, focused, well-rounded individual. Both my body and mind have benefitted greatly from this practical, yet beautiful martial art. The first two weeks are free. I suggest you take advantage of them and see what this art has to offer you, as it has had so much to offer me.

This is a fantastic school if you want to learn traditional kung fu and self defense in a fun, supportive environment. The workouts are tough but approachable even to someone who’s not starting out in great shape(like I was when I first started), and increase in intensity as you move up the ranks. There’s a lot of different material covered, from self defense to numerous animal and weapon styles, tai chi, and sparring. I started out over 2 years ago, and I’m glad I stuck with it. I’ve seen an amazing improvement in my overall health, strength, endurance, and overall sparring skill. The price is totally reasonable($ 100 a month, with discounts for longer memberships) and you get 2 weeks free.
